After leaving the classroom, we went to the school.There, we could see the training ground:

There was a dome, I heard adults talking about it:"If you don't apologize, we will end it in the dome" They were saying.It's a kind of arena where people could fight each other to put an end to a conflict, or sometime there could be death match of a stranger who, by one way of another, found the village and entered it. The village is a secret to the outside world because people mustn't have any knowledge of our race that is 'origin'.

One this island there is only the human, us and some dwarf that look like mini-human.

Now let's imagine the human find us who can have some attribute of animal, they will hunt us to enslave us, because we are a "rarity". Because of that, the security of the Village is taken seriously.

Next to the dome there is a... obstacle race with walls, ropes, wait is that a PITFALL?!! I don't want to think about it anymore.I was daydreaming again, I and John who was following me, arrived where the group was waiting.

"So today we'll not do the daily, you should be happy, well we'll test your affinities, then we'll do some basic training. A month from today, you will have to fight in team, or on a duel each week.

So after knowing your affinities, you will have one instructor for each element you have. They will teach you everything they know.

After the month one instructor will come to teach you one combat tactic and training, on the style they think is the best for you. You'll have to take this knowledge, improve and maybe create your own style, but we're quite far of it.

You're free to go asking any instructor about what they teach.

He take out a stone from one his pocket and present it to us:"This is a custom mana stone you can normally know what attribute you have by injecting mana in it, it will shine according to the elements in your mana and their purity.You will understand that latter, but because you don't know how to manipulate mana it can't help you." John

Everywhere in this world there is mana but, in place mana is concentrated, mana stone can appear, a place where there is a lot of one element will give birth to mana stone of that element, so a element less mana mana stone is quite rare, it mean where it was found there was either pure mana in good quantity or all element of mana perfectly balanced.

"So we'll use another method", John said as he take out something from another pocket, while putting back the stone in the one it came from, but then:

As he took out the stone I know it was my time to shine.

"What is it Carl?" John

"I know how to use my mana, I can use the stone"Me

Surprised voices are erupting around me.

'Yeah, because I'm the son of the best I am the best you should all adore me'

"Oh I would like to see that, If you can do it I will gift you something," He said without much conviction.

'I will show you' I think as I take the stone from him.

As I concentrate, I begin to feel a second liquid in my blood stream, that I guide to hands where the stone is.

I worked out so much just for today, my father say:

"You must work hard to be better than all your enemies...or you can stop them from being your enemies."

'Well all my hard work, those long hour to read book on magic have paid' I think as the stone shine a little red glow. I smile, all sweaty because of my effort, but proud.

"Oh good job!Hmm fire element, that it? one of the most destructive. I didn't think you will be able to do it, I will reward you later" John

"Anybody wish to try?"John

'No use, I've worked hard so long for that, I the best, no one else can Without at least twice as much time'

I think as the stone pass from hand to hand without any shine.

" Well no problem as I was saying you shouldn't..." But as He was talking a dark red light came from the stone.

This Shine was brighter than mine!!!!

"Ohohoho we have two little genius in our rank today great! I will reward you too." He said while looking at him, Dan, this guy didn't talk and was late.

"The stone shined more than when with Carl good job"

I glare at him furiously.I'm second? I will not accept it!!I swear silently.

Hum, I just wanted to play with the stone but instinctively I did that.Now that Carl is glaring at me as if he wish to eat me.The others too are looking at me...I want to hide.Thanks Universe John came at my rescue.

"So we have two geniuses, it great but we have to test your affinities." He opened his hand, and in it there was... pills??

"Those pills are difficult to make but we need them to try your inborn spell.It's a spell that you can use instinctively, and that is easier and less expensive that other spell for you.It gives information on your affinity or affinities." John said as he gives one pill to each one of us.

"You can begin one by one"

Carl walks in front of us and eats the pill.

"wait for a little and put your back against us," John said as He make us walk away a little

Few moment latter a red line appear in front of Carl.

*explosion*

We all jump backward in fright. 'magic is scary' i think, but I seem to the only one as the other are applauding him.

"Wow "laser" it's an I magic intermediate magic to think that you would have it as an inborn spell! You have also a fire attribute" John almost screaming.

"the other you can go we must hurry" John

The others went one after the other 'Some were cool but not as cool as the laser'

Ryan had the earth attribute and made the earth fall, it was a beginner magic "earth fall"

It was quite funny to see the other twin Ian with the same earth element but with an inborn magic that does the exact opposite.A Column of earth jump out, it was also a beginner magic "earth column"

Alexandra shot a sphere of black mana that makes a hole in the column of Ian. She had a darkness attribute, and an inborn spell "dark bolt"

Her element was a little rarer than fire and earth but it had a bad image.

The light element of Mary was also rare, went she ate the pill she just shined brightly, but somehow I feel better after, John was jumping when he saw that, her inborn spell was 'Heal', She had a light attribute.

Next was Maya that quickly ate the pill, in front of her the grass seemed to grow.This spell didn't have any name he was Unique, it does not mean that only she can do that, just that only those that have this spell inborn can.

While we were shocked and looked at her, her face seemed like it was burning and she went to hide behind John who patted her head.

This spell could have some utility in battle but it was invaluable for an alchemist such as her and her mother. She had a plant attribute.

Then Rob and Seb went, the two had the water attribute, Rob made a stick with water, it was an was a beginner spell

water stick, Seb made a crack in the column, it was a water ball, it was too a beginner spell

It was finally my turn, I step in front of them an eat my pill.

A moment later a single black flame appear in front of me, I could feel some familiarity with that flame.

I tried to will her to move on the side but she moves in front.

It didn't want to listen to me.I went to the column but simply pass it without any damage and disappeared.

My spell was useless.

But as I came back to the group, John had a grave mine.

Wow they are awesome in my generation we didn't have so many good inborn spells, I jealous.

So it's the last one, Dan, what will he do? Dark red glow he has a dual attribute at the very least, Hurry up!! I want to see what you can do.There he goes: a Black flame?

It just passed the column without doing anything, but somehow I feel a sense of dread of danger, that I mustn't approach this flame, but this feel come from my very soul, it's a first. I must do something my sense never failed me, He mustn't use it.I will have to search what it is.

There he comes. I must do like it's normal.

"Great Dan you have a dual attribute, fire-darkness attribute.But Dan I don't know what your spell does, but I forbid you to use it?Clear?" He nods

"So you know your mana attribute, it means that you can use your mana to either control that element, create the or both because your body is attenuated at those elements.While it isn't impossible to have to opposite elements it'll continuously hurt the one that has them because they can rarely be together, but remember there are always exceptions in the nature like the cold flame or the black-light, so in theory, they can be together.

There are different grade of attribute for example divine thunder isn't the same as thunder.

And the last thing That I will teach you about attribute is that it's possible to earn more attribute.

By getting them by the system even if it's really rare, or to torture yourself with this element.

Well it's not really torture but to stay in contact with a powerful force of those element for a long time.

That everything I have to say about the affinities. Now we will pass at another far more interesting
