《The Ritual of the Summoned Ones》Gathering Supplies

Laying in front of Hadrian were six swords, a great sword, a short sword, a rapier, a bastard sword and two long swords.
“Damn this is a big dagger, what in god's name is big enough to use this thing like a dagger, fucking hell I hope I don't met them”
In his hand was the Big Dagger, its handle was so thick both his hands could barely wrap around it and its blade was nearly as wide as Hadrian's body.
“Seriously I really hope I don't run into whatever the hell uses this thing”, Hadrian couldn’t really fathom how the weapon in his hand could be called a dagger, its massive weight meaning whatever race used it for it's intended purpose would have had to be a being of extraordinary strength.
Strength that horrified Hadrian, the knowledge that somewhere in this world was a race that would wield such a blade as a dagger.
“I wonder what their strength stat would be, .....well hopefully I'll never have the chance to find out”
Hadrian places the weapon down on to the blacksmith's counter and picks up one of the other swords, it was the only sword classified as rare he found.
“Grace huh, you really live up to your name, you absolutely stunning”
In his hand, Hadrian held a truly remarkable sword, with a long sliver blade with delicate engraving running up the spine, an ornate cross guard shaped into graceful wings, a stunningly blue handle slender like the blade itself and ending with otherworldly crystal pommel as it had grown into the shape of rose, it was truly beautiful.
“Truly a stunning masterpiece, who ever made this was an artist, but what hell is it doing here? Shouldn’t this be a family heirloom or in a collection somewhere”
It was truly a mystery how such a blade ended up in this average blacksmiths, in this average town that ended up somehow stuck in this Dungeon

“Well sucked to be whoever lost it, but it's mine now so, ha haha hahaha”
Hadrian takes the long sword he had been given in his equipment box, off his back and then secures Grace in place of it, placing his now old long sword in his inventory as well with the rest of the other swords into it.
“So I have secured this place and got some basic supplies but I definitely need to get some more, I better go store everything that’s useful to me now in my inventory and then start to scout the nearby buildings”
Starting to gather everything of use into his inventory, Hadrian heads out to the garden, grabbing the ladder he made earlier and places it up against the fence to start to climb up it. Leaping over the fence, he then reaches up and grabs the top of the ladder, pulling it over the fence into the back alley he was standing in.
Securing it up against the fence, he makes his way into the main road, making sure to keep an eye out for any monsters.
The blacksmiths store is situated at a corner of the road, one corner of a large crossroads. The nearest buildings being at the other three corners.
Not wanting to get too far from the Gate, he decides to head to the buildings closer to the Gate and not further.
"I'm guessing no one could stand living next to a blacksmith for too long, the noise probably drove them and any costumers they had crazy”
The nearest buildings to the blacksmiths was a decent walk away, as he got closer he could make out the damage was quite substantial to the front of the building, destroying any hope he had of identifying the building.
Walking right up to the building Hadrian had a good peek inside to see if he could notice anything out of the ordinary but mostly of the skeletal nature. The doors to the store were smashed in completely, giving him a near complete view of the main room of the store.

Inside the store was pitch black, it was only thanks to his Night Vision skill that Hadrian could see anything at all.
“Are those books?”
Stretching from the floor’s to the ceilings, covering every inch of wall were bookcases, the shelf's filled to near bursting with books, the only place you could see even the tiniest glimpse of wall was directly behind the small counter that was used by whoever worked here.
“....... I'm not going to be able to read any of these am I”
Walking through the doorway, Hadrian still keeping up his guard, not wanting a repeat of the blacksmith ambush. Grabbing the nearest book from the closest bookshelf he could, he opened it to have a look.
“Yep, it's all fucking nonsense to me, great....”
“Wait a minute doesn't one of my Blessing's help me gain skills faster!”
“I wonder if a language, could be classed as a skill?”
Hadrian grabs a bunch of different looking books of the shelves and put them into his inventory.
“I'll check that out later, I want to get out of here as fast as I can”
Hadrian quickly searches the bottom floor, the majority of the floor was full of books other than the counter and a small broom closet, the only other thing was a staircase leading to the upper floor.
Checking under the stairs just in case of any grabby skeletons, finding nothing Hadrian heads upstairs and ends up in a familiar hallway.
“Here we go again”
'BANG!' Hadrian kicks the first door open, the room was empty. Looking around it seems whoever lived here really liked books, similar to downstairs every inch of wall that could be spared was covered in books.
A bed nestled in the corner revealed it to be someone's bedroom, checking everything out Hadrian grabbed a few more books, making sure to grab any that looked expensive or old.
“Now that my status has been activated hopefully my luck kicks in and I've picked up something good”
Checking the bed to see if anything was hidden in or under it and finding nothing, he heads back into the hall.
“In the blacksmiths the storage room was through the last door, I know which I'm going to check next”
Walking to the end of the hall, he turns to face the last door.
'BANG' 'BANG'
Hadrian stops dead, stiffly turning his head he sees the doors he just passed. Collapsed on the floor, laying on top of both doors where the skeleton's.
“I fucking cursed myself didn't I ?”

Red Wheat
Skylar Kylee Wintersong was born an Indigo Child. Celebrated by her parents, who ensured that she suffered no restrictions that might hinder her powers, ability or genius, she has grown up knowing that she was a member of the elite, born to rule and guide. However, the cruel whims of beings who are Gods have intervened, and not only dropped Skylar in a savage reality of magic, muscle, steel, and blood, but granted her all the powers she thought she was entitled to. Her knowledge that she's been born to rule and guide, that she was a chosen one, has been made real, with all the terrible burden that entails. How will a 21st Century Earth girl survive on the Six Worlds of Shtar? A place known as "The War Worlds." The entire thing is somewhat tongue in cheek, fun high fantasy with a touch of satire. Rather than adding in likable and relatable characters, the three Earthlings are supposed to be caricatures and somewhat satirical, as I was making fun of the type of fantasy that was being spit out all over the place at the time I wrote this about a decade ago. It is currently unfinished and on hiatus.

Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
