Amiita POV

I giggled awkwardly at my partner, Aqua. I did not know her name, but I had to call her something, right? Either way, she seemed rather...mad at me, for taking off with her arm while slamming the rest of her body against walls and such. It was fun at least!

"So, here we are. At the wolf woods, the starter area~!" I declared. Each place didn't had a specific name, and the people over in the village only referred to this place as 'the forest', meaning I had to give it a more specific name! It is only fair, soon the wolf woods will be crowded with beginners, meaning it needed a cool name!

Either way, the name was slightly misleading. Wolves are not the most common enemy around here, it was just the apex predator of the region.A level 6 monster, that by now I could slaughter with ease, even with the difference in levels. Last time I was around here, I killed one wolf every few minutes, meaning that it was the best spot to grind, at least out of the ones I knew of.

But yet...even though I'm not alone now...what is this feeling? It must be nothing, right? Even though I have not found a single wolf in the forest all the way to this part of it, it shouldn't be a big deal. Maybe somebody else hunted them.

It seems that even my partner, Aqua, has noticed the feeling as well. By some reason, it felt like she was a lot more focused, if not scared, than before. "Oh don't worry, that feeling happens to anyone who never entered in a forest." I said, although it was mostly to convince myself.

Inas(Aqua) POV

I followed my partner, for a few different reasons. First of all, I am blind and mute, meaning that communicating with anybody is a pain in the butt, and getting lost is easier done than said. But a part of me...a part of me felt like I was walking into my own doom.

"Here we are, the wolf woods area!" She declared cheerfully...

...Only to make me freak out. A wolf is not the weakest beast, rather, they can be rather dangerous. Not as dangerous a draconian, yes, but far from being insignificant. I bet they could even knock us into the red health area, if we are not careful.

But as Amiita spoke, there was a feeling. No, not a feeling. I was sure that something was up with this forest...something more than just wolves.

"Oh don't worry, that feeling happens to anyone who never entered in a forest"

No, the feeling of imminent death should NOT happen this early in the game, no matter how inexperienced the player is!

Amiita POV

And so, our hunt began! But first of all, I wanted to make sure Aqua could keep up with my pace, and so I decided to let her deal with the first enemy that appeared. Luckily enough, the first enemy was just a fox. A 3ft tall fox, which probably could scare anybody who is new to this world. "This is a test for you, alright?"

I decided to back away, to not intimidate the small animal. I even felt a little bad, but yet, I knew how fearsome that animal could be for beginners. My first fight with a fox, took a whole minute after all!

As soon as I backed away, Aqua looked at me, rather than at her enemy...what is up with that action?! Does she wants to get killed?

The fox considered that as a moment of weakness, and ran towards the slime, to pounce at her. I even began to run towards Aqua, to try to protect her from the danger...and yet...yet...

Something unexpected happened. Or maybe it was expected.

The fox managed to jump into the slime's neck, but it was quickly enveloped by the slime...and began to slowly get crushed and destroyed, the blood darkening Aqua's color, as she looked innocently at me...as if nothing ever happened in the first place.

.......well.....uh...

I couldn't help but gulp. Riiight...she was living here before I logged on. Of course nothing was scary for her anymore.

Inas POV

"This is a test for you, alright?"

I heard these words, and 'looked' at my draconian companion, confused. Well, there was something sneaking behind me, but nothing attacked us thus far, and nothing caused me more damage than that reckless draconian.

Eh, should I worry about it?...probably not.

Be more careful, water-for-brains!-15 HP

I felt a sharp pain on my neck, almost as if something had bitten it. Well, probably was that 'something' which sneaked behind me. Well, it was somewhat impressive, but nothing I should worry about. It sorta killed itself. By destroying my neck, my head fell on top of it, making me turn back into the shapeless blob I was previously, with a fox stuck inside of me.

Now all I needed was to crush and digest! Yum!

You won the battle![97.5% remaining for next level up]

And now, to turn back into the humanoid form, after a good meal! It wasn't enough for another level up on the skill, since I already had this form memorized, and was probably my 'default' shape.

Amiita POV

Calm down, Amiita, you just saw your friend digesting a fox in front of your eyes, no biggie. No problem. There is no problem with the fact that I've saw a little fox die in one of the most horrible ways to the point that the history lessons on medieval devices look cuddly in comparison.

Yeah, no problem. It is just a game after all. Nothing to worry about. No need to worry about things being melted alive. I've seen a lot worse during my life.

....Who I am kidding.

"If your go eat like that, do somewhere out of my sight!" I shouted, curling my hand into a fist, and punching the slime's head away.

"Gaaaah!" And so, I heard a scream, along with a man falling down from a tree, onto the ground, his head covered in slime.

... And so, I whistled innocently while I walked away. It wasn't me!

PKer POV

Hmm..a draconian and a slime...well I am not too sure if they would work out, they look too weak....but yet, they might be just what I need for my plans.

Yes, perfect. I think I'll start to execute the plans...after a little lunch. I took out a small sandwich from my bag, and began to eat it while looking at the pair.

"If your go eat like that, do somewhere out of my sight!"

And then, I saw something green heading quickly towards me.

Everything has gone green. Except my HP, that part has gone red.

But worst of all...."My sandwich!" I shouted, as the sandwich I was about to eat was stolen by the slimy blob that hit my face, and it was quickly moving back to rejoin the main body.

These girls...

I'll make them pay...

....10 copper coins, so I can buy another sandwich. "That was my breakfast, you jerks!"

Ah, just remembered, the main character is Nysa, not Inas, yet I'm writing so much about the slime.

Give me a few more chapters, so I can smoothly change POVs, and then finally go to the next arc. XD
