《The Blood Mage》11 - The man in the white van

“I knew you would like it. Come on, let us march towards adventure, Leon!”
With the sudden declaration made by Master, I increased my speed from walking to running. The boost multiplied my speed by twice! Though the Lions are a beast species which tops in strength, we are by no means slow. I could feel Master struggling to keep his hold on my back.
“Leo, that’s the spirit!”
I feel warm inside. That’s what a praise does to you.
The trees all passed by me, since the trees are looking younger and younger by the second, it seems that we are almost out of this forest.

Honestly, if he was that fast, he should have done that from the start. While he sped through, I saw many weird things, I even saw a humanoid, but I ignored it since it looked like a male. What, I want my first encounter to be memorable.
His abrupt stopping almost made me flying, thankfully I had a firm grip. He stopped in front of a road, a dirt road, that explains a bit about the advancement in this world.
“Leo, follow the right path”
By the way, did I ever mention how he could run while being like a humanoid? He actually changed his body frame into a lion. Possibly magic was at work there. I’m just gonna call it ‘Lion Body’ and ‘Human Lion’ for practical’s sake.
After a while, I think I see a wall. I think. Yep, it’s a wall, with a gate. At the gate are two guards, hopefully female. Suddenly, Leo stops walking and lowered me down. I think I forgot something that I brought with me. Oh well.
“What’s wrong buddy? You scared of walls?”
He just pushed me towards the gate, I think he wants me to go alone. Are the people afraid of Lions?

“I’ll go ahead then, don’t wait up for me ok? Just go hunt for some food while I’m gone”
I’m thinking of meeting up with him later on after I’m done with whatever things I would be doing in the town. First things first, a slave.
“Greeting’s fellow guards! Lovely weather we’re having”
The two guards have a typical appearance. Chainmail covering their body, tunic, a leather vest with a symbol, and of course, helmets. Meh. They put their hands on the swords on their hips. I can’t see what expression their making, but I bet it’s of cautiousness. Also, they are taller than me. Like a head taller.
“(State your business stranger)”
I…can’t understand what’re they saying. What to do, what to do. Handsigns?
“(I.Good.I.Enter.City?)”
The guard nudged the other one
“(You think he’s a spy? He looks like one of us)”
Guard2 leaned closer to my face. Then he whispered something to 1
“(He’s one of those failed apprentice. You know, the lazy ones who sits at home all the time? Maybe he came back from a quest or something)”
Guard1 visibly relaxed, I don’t know why, but I feel offended right now
“(Poor guy, can’t even speak our native language)”
“(He’s also short as heck)”
“(Even his clothes are freaky)”
Guard1 slapped my back forcing me entering the gates. It hurts really much, like a hammer hitting your back. At least I entered the city.
It looks like a normal light novel setting. So I don’t have to describe it. Well, maybe a little. It looks like the medieval, all the people are friggin higher than me, all people have it white, some tanned, and the strangest thing, I could see that most people have a weapon. There are also people with collars.
That guy has a sabre-looking weapon, that chick has two guns, heck, I could even see a boy walking around with a spear in his hand, how adorable.

I walk around the place just to get the feel. There were a few curious glances, maybe it’s because I don’t have a weapon, or maybe I was short. Meh. Now, priorities straight, slaving time. I want a slave, who doesn’t like a slave? They’re obedient, trustful, and most of all, submissive. I don’t get how some people in the light novels don’t like em.
I wandered around, walking in a straight line, trying to find any suspicious shops, any dark alleys. Nothing. At least until I saw a hooded guy nudging me to him, by the way, it’s almost night time, so there were less people.
He brought me to a dark alley and showed me a ring thingy. At first, I showed my best curious face, he seemed to get the gist of it. He puts on the ring on my finger. I have a slight idea on what it does
“So translator?”
(So it’s a language translator?)
The words are a bit messed up, but it’s what I need right now. When I made a nod, he gestured me to follow him.
He took me to a dark looking building, which my sense are telling me that this is dangerous, but I want the ring. If anything goes wrong, I’ll just bite my arm. You know what they say, ‘An arm is easier to bite than a thumb’, I don’t think that exists, neither does ‘A mango falls faster than a tree’.
The door creaked when he opened it, just to be on a safe side, I put the tip of my arm in my mouth. Who knows what I would do in a place like this. He glanced at me for a moment, then shrugged it off.
“This where?”
(So where is this?)
“Good shop”
(It’s a good shop)
Good shop eh? Okay. Haha. Damn it. I heard footsteps coming behind me. Looks like it's biting time. But just before I could bite it-
*PAK*
There goes my consciousness.

Legendary Farmer (available on Kindle July 2022!)
NOTE: Legendary Farmer is now COMPLETE. The first book, Clearing, was released on Kindle Unlimited July 5, 2022 with significant edits. I will post the first chapter of Clearing, as well as three chapters of Cuckoo's Dream, another novel in the LF universe, as a stub, with a link to the first book, so if you love LF and want me to be able to keep writing consistently, please go give Clearing five stars! In the VRMMORPG, Veritas Online, things are getting a little stale. Since the game launched, only one world- wide event has occurred, and that was a year ago.. The players are still having fun, but everyone agrees it’s about time for something big to happen. Everybody tends to forget that big things grow from small things, and little things are always changing in Veritas. The human country of Quarternell is at peace for the first time in... ever. Aspen, a former war hero, feels like he’s earned a quiet life together with his animal companions. They’re tired of fighting, and other people in general. They plan to live peacefully, far away from the city. As soon as Aspen figures out this farming thing out, he’s never going to go anywhere again. Unfortunately for Aspen, his country and his goddess aren’t quite done with him yet.Rouge the Rogue is a casual gamer in Veritas Online. She’s just a kid, and her focus is supposed to be on school and hanging out with friends. Emphasis on ‘supposed to’. She’s already pretty good at the school thing, and she doesn’t actually have that many friends. What she really loves is exploring all the cool ways the developers of Veritas found to make their game unique and realistic. Then she’s offered a very special quest, and an opportunity to go beyond the average player. She’s never been that much of a rule follower anyway....Clearing is appropriate for most ages. It has minimal foul language, no sex, and some violence. It is LGBTQ+ friendly. (P.S. IMPORTANT! This book contains very mild profanity, no sex, and is meant to be FUN. Yes, the characters sometimes think Deep Thoughts, and idealism pretty much runs rampant, but, in the end, I hope you just enjoy reading it. Laugh, cry, share it with your kids, read it to your dog, whatever makes you happy. My goal is for it to be accessible to everyone from ages 12ish on up, so you could definitely consider it YA, but with lots of big words because I don't believe in talking down to my readers.) Book Two: Harrowing (Starts after the original Chapter Fifty, now Sixteen, since I condensed chapters from the same perspective together.) Zoey has started her summer internship at Veritas Corporation, and she can honestly say that being an adult is boring. Until she starts learning secrets she was never supposed to know. In game, Rouge is finally making progress on her big quest. Apparently Duke Penbrooke took too long to return to the world, so the world is coming to get him... in the form of a few assassins. Aspen is going to have to face the life he left behind, and deal with the fact that it's not as easy being 'dead' as he thought. When what he'd hoped would be a short trip back to civilization to resupply turns into a whole lot more, he'll have to fight for his life, his friends, and his kingdom. Book Three: Sowing Rouge and Aspen have reached Bright, only to find that their enemies were already expecting them. They will have to quickly unravel the mysteries of who their opponents actually are, because they're already ten steps behind. Rouge and Aspen are finally home, but that doesn't mean they can return to their peaceful days of farming. Their enemies are hot on their heels and determined to destroy everything they've managed to achieve. Join them and all their friends for the final volume of Legendary Farmer.

Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.

Diagnosed (Alan x Eric)
Let's rewind a cinematic record back to when Alan Humphries had first gotten contracted with the Thorns of Death. This is the story that tells it all. It leads right into the musical Kuromyu: The Most Beautiful Death In The World. This story will also go into that plot line.
