《The Magical Workman》The Magical Workman Chapter 9: The Girl

Final testing for school is coming around, two weeks at best, and the amount of chapters will be slowing down (even though they weren't that abundant in the start), but hopefully the ones that do start to come out will be longer and detailed than these basically "filler chapters". After finals, chapters will pick up and probably be about 3-4 a week. Enjoy

“Enjoying the view there”
Said someone who then proceeded to put their hand on my shoulder.
I turned around in an elegant twirl to see who it was.
It was a girl about my age. She was pretty cute, had light brown hair, deep emerald green eyes and a silky smooth face. Any single individual could instantly tell she would be one of those rare beauties when she grew up.
“Hahaha, sorry for bothering you, but you looked like you were having fun and I was wondering if I could join you. My name is Lilia by the way”
“Well my name is Wolfe, of course you can join me”
I told her.
She extended one of her pearly white hands which quickly was in my grasp.
As I was walking with Lilia she asked me a question.
“So how did you manage to get into this school, I imagine you have quite a high amount of magical power”
“Well…. I kinda don’t know how big it is, but it’s pretty big.”
I replied
“What do you mean you don’t know how big it is?”
Said Lilia
“Well… you see the orb that was testing me shot up into the really high numbers rather quickly, but before it could finish it shattered”
I turned to look at Lilia really fast to look at her face. Her mouth was wide open and you could clearly see the disbelief on her face.

“I can’t believe you would dare lie to me”
Said Lilia, and with a slap to my face she walked away from me.
I was depressed, a evidently furture hot girl that I might be able to woo and she thinks I lied to her. Oh well she’ll see when we test out power at the mandatory entrance exam.
I scampered back to my room, exhausted. I laid down in the bed and promptly fell asleep.
The days passed quickly and just like that it was time for the entrance exam.
Getting out of bed was tiring for me, but I managed to push myself to wash my face and put on some basic clothes.
I walked quickly to where the headmaster said the test was taking place.
The place where the test was taking place was the entrance to the school. Instead of the normal orbs what stood at the entrance was a massive testing pillar. This pillar was much more accurate than the orbs and was used to ensure that everyone coming to the school was legit and didn’t cheat the original testing.
Getting there I was welcomed by a huge line of children and their parents.
Almost all were higher nobles with elegant clothing and an aura of arrogance. When most saw me they snickered and whispered to their parents who in turn whispered back. Probably speaking of my appearance and how I was a country bumpkin.
I arrived in the back of the line.
To pass the time I was thinking about how surprised Lilia would be when she saw my testing score. I was hoping she would be out of her mind.
As I was thinking I spotted Lilia approaching the pillar.
‘hmm, I wonder how much magical power she has’
Lilia placed her hand on the pillar and the number instantly shot up to 297.

I was pleasantly surprised and it was probably evident on my face because Lilia spotted me and smirked.
‘I’ll show her’
When it was finally my turn I cautiously approached the pillar. I gently placed my hand on the pillar. At first nothing happened and I was about to break out into a cold sweat, but the number instantly shot up. 10’s 100’s 1000’s the numbers had no bounds as they shot upwards in a fast spectacle.
Soon the stress was too much and the pillar started to crack. Soon the cracks spread throughout the whole pillar.
Then finally the pillar shattered but unlike the orb it left very large chunks.
I turned around staring at everyone’s surprised faces. I scanned through the crowd looking very carefully. Soon I came upon Lilia. Her mouth was open in shock and her face was slightly contorted. In satisfaction I gave her a hefty arrogant smirk

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Jerry tries to settle down, wanting nothing but a peaceful life for him and his undead—and, when that doesn't quite work out, he sets out to adventure. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.
