《The Story of how I died and was reborn in another world as a Half-Demi》Chapter 10 – Aaaand... gone

So, yeah, I got these totally overpowered abilities now, and I don’t know what to do with them. Some people would overtake the world with these abilities, but that would be too tiring. And, if I would do that, what would be the benefits? Infinite power? Only for a limited time. Wives, money? The wives would only accept because of the money and power, the money – what should I do with it? What should I buy, if I already own everything? Prestige? What use does prestige have for me? So I’d rather live my life without any such problems. Just doing, what I want to do.
And, while I thought about these and other questions, I met the King.
(King) “So, this is the man who brought you back your children? The one with the many dragon cubs? He is still wet behind the ears.”
(?)
What was that?
(Gareth) “Ah, don’t worry about it, Richard. This man is very powerful. He even made an intelligent golem for my daughter to play with!”
(King) “Haha, your daughters behaviour must’ve lead you to exhaustion if he hadn’t created that one! Still, an intelligent golem is quite something. Depending on the quality, he might even have golem affinity, which is scarcely seen. Tell me, brother, as you lead the Golemancy Department, have you thought about recruiting him?”
(Gareth) “You know, he doesn’t seem to be that type of magician, who would be attracted by fame or money, as he didn’t want anything in return for bringing us my children. And please, don’t even ask what would draw his interest. I don’t know either.”
(King) “So, Gareth. I’d like to take the responsibility for rewarding him. Would you be okay with me doing so?”
(Gareth) “I know, that Larissa is your niece, but she still is my daughter, and I am owning a greater responsibility for her. Thus I have a greater debt and am more responsible for giving him a fitting compensation equivalent to his deeds! Shouldn’t I keep the obligation, rather than giving it to you?”
(King) “Well spoken, little brother. Still, I want to express my gratitude towards him as well.”
And there it goes… My peaceful time will be over… probably *poof* gone, since the King said that…
(Gareth) “Well, I don’t particularly mind. Still, I couldn’t think of anything appropriate.”
(King) “I would just ask him.”
(Gareth) “I did that already back then… He just said, that he’d be happy if I’d help him in the case any problems come up in the Capital.”
(King) “Instead of materials or money, he asks for something insecure? Although the help of a Duke surely would come in handy, if problems occur he can’t solve by himself…”
(Gareth) “Still, that is far from enough for me!”
I’ve been thinking long, what powerful creatures there might be…
But most of them would be humanoids. Imagine, I ate a human just before your eyes. You’d call the police, be scared, shocked, frightened, call it what you want.
Others would probably be sacred beasts, like unicorns/Qilins. But I don’t even know, if they exist.
(King) “So, Lupin. Is there anything you desire?”
(Lupin) “I’ve been thinking about it, and I’d like to know, what powerful creatures exist, apart from dragons or phoenixes.”
(King) “Oh, if it is just that. Let me teach you about them.
I should tell you first, that there is a stronger, non-humanoid variant for every humanoid being. I don’t want to tell you, that some species are able to shapeshift, you surely know that already. No, I mean, that under special, malicious influences, species, like Dryads, Elves and similar ones, transform into a more powerful, non-humanoid form, which is irreparable. You won’t even be able to recognize them.

These individuals are totally mad and aggressive towards everything alive and moving. As far as we know, it is not contagious, so, like all other monsters, they get eaten. Of course, their relatives mourn for them, but there is nothing they can do.
These beings’ power is probably more than double their original one. So, if you want to hunt powerful monsters, these are a good choice.
Other ones would be more difficult. For example, there are 10 Archdemons, which rule over the other demons. Although they’re not aggressive yet, they are rather hostile towards other humanoids. So these would be good targets as well, but I doubt, that you are strong enough to beat them.
There are some types of sacred beasts, I wouldn’t recommend to hunt them, but sometimes they wreak havoc, if that happens, you are free to do as you want. These would be Qilin, Griffin, Kitsune, Jormungand, Ifrit, Orochi and Shirakina Kami, as well as some less well known which I can’t remember the names from.
The monsters you can hunt without any problems are Manticores, Basilisks, Gorgons, Behemoths, Chimeras, Leviathans and Hydras. These should be the strongest ones.
But, if you want to lay your hands on their materials, I could give you some of them as well.”
(Lupin) “I’d prefer to hunt them myself, as I got some new skills recently, which I’d like to test.”
(King) “Ah, I fully understand that feeling. Back then, when I was an adventurer myself, and hunted two Chimeras with my party, just before I ascended the throne… I’ll never forget these times. But, because of national security problems, I am not allowed to hunt any longer…
Though I secretly still accept Rank-B and Rank-A subjugation quests, just to keep myself in shape. You’ll keep that matter secret, right? Else, I don’t know what could happen…”
The way he smiled at me left me shuddering even days after that moment, when I was only thinking about it… Even though I had stats of over a billion…
(Lupin) “D-Don’t worry…”
(King) “Okay, as we have solved this problem peacefully, I still have to ask, if you’re okay with just that? I’d make you a noble, if you’d wish for it.”
(Lupin) “This is indeed tempting, but where would my peaceful life go, if I’d wish for that? No, I’d rather like to live my life without having anybody interfere too much. Although I still let many things just slip out, just because I am an idiot sometimes.”
(King) “Ah, well, as you just brought his children back, we can ignore it officially. But it would be a different case, if you saved them.”
(?)
(Lupin) “Oh, right, I’d actually inquire some other information. Do you know about an existence called ‘Ryuujin’?”
(Gareth) “I probably know more than my brother about this one. It is top-level secret though. I don’t even know, if I am allowed to tell you… Oh well, screw the rules, I got money! I believe, I can tell you this one.”
Pfft! Did he really say that?
(Gareth) “This so called ‘Ryuujin’ is a legendary creature, another name for it would be ‘Dragongod’. We only got to know about it by chance, as we studied the ruins of the ancient dragonfolk. It is said, to be the materialisation of the dragons deity on this world, and the dragons legend said, that the world it ruled over was challenged by another, stronger deity, and so it had to flee. Its powers were unparalleled in this world, so it stayed dormant until a group of heroes went to its cave, and defeated it. This only seemed to be possible as it was weakened by the eon-long sleep it had.

We still don’t know what parts are true, and what are fiction, but we assume, that it was a kind of story, which told the leaders of the dragons not to be lazy, else they would get overtaken easily. But lately, some of my people have found evidence, which would prove its existence, so, because of this, it is kept secret from the most people.”
(?)
The others still didn’t hear that voice, but it seemingly could hear them.
(?)
(Lupin)
(?)
(King) “So, by the way, where is this golem you made? Is it still with Larissa? And, Gareth, have you checked it already?”
(Gareth) “There were no problems with it. But, did I tell you, that the core alone should be worth 3 dragon coins, according to his evaluation?”
(King) “So he used such an expensive core… Why did you actually do that?”
(Lupin) “If I could use it, but don’t do it, what is it good for? I could sell it to others, who would either keep it or use it themselves. But that’s it. I would rather use it myself, if these are the options.”
(King) “Hmmm…”
(Lupin) “Oh, right, I should probably go home. Else my parents would be worried.”
(King) “Right, right. Then go home. We still have to talk about something, Gareth, or have you forgot that one already?”
(Gareth) “Don’t worry. I still don’t think that this was enough. Oh, and, happy monster hunting, Lupin.”
(Lupin) “I hope, you two have fun as well.”
It is scary, how simple talking to them was at the end of the meeting…

(King) “You’re not a dragon, are you?”
(Lupin) “Why should I be?”
*flys away*
(King) “He looks almost like a humanoid dragon… But back to what we were talking about.”
(Gareth) “Oh yeah, how was it?”
(King) “I can’t describe this existence and what was happening with words… Let’s go to the ‘Night’s Fun World’ together tonight, okay?”
(Gareth) “Why not… I haven’t had this kind of fun since a month, and she has got no problems with it… as long as I don’t have more than that, that is.”
*grinning while having a smutty smile and thoughts*
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I bet they were wanting to talk about something lewd. And, as I still was a child in their opinion, probably, they didn’t want me to listen. Or, because I could tell their wives.

Well, it is interesting what could happen with Ryuujin at my side. Or in my side? Whats-o-ever.
Oh, by the way, we have learned several things in school again. For example, why the level of us doesn’t go up. The reason for that is, that all the experience is saved up till the age of 17. Then, all of it suddenly releases, as well as some titles, special skills, and so on. Because of all that happening at the age of 17, you are officially an adult then.
Or, the ranking system of monsters.
Roughly 5 monsters of one rank can be defeated by a person, whose overall rank is of the same rank, if the person has a weapon with the same rank.
For example:
My mom, who is Rank-B, can defeat either 5 Rank-B Monsters, or, as there are + and – Ranks, 8 or 9 Rank B-. She could defeat 2 Rank B+ Monsters, or, with a bit of luck, 1 Rank A-.
There are two exceptions, though:
First, tamed pets gain strength, so that they are able to contend with humans of the same rank.
Second, every living creature, be it human or monster, from Double-S onwards probably has skills, which are able to manipulate either ones own or the opponents stats, or even both. And you don’t know, which quality these skills have, so it could be possible, that their stats grow tenfold for a short amount of time, in which they could easily overtake somebody of a higher rank.
You just have to look at my skills, although I may be a very special case. With , all my stats are multiplied with 100. Permanently. Normally, such skills have a time limit or some kind of penalty, or even both. Well, it is the skill of a god, so it is pretty normal for this skill to have no demerits. Probably.
I am still wondering about and . Maybe I should check them? Although, if they are sealed, I don’t know if it works.
‘Eolas, Creation Affinity’
This seems pretty useful. It is sealed, though.
‘Eolas, God Affinity’
Woah, what’s up with that? The explanation is completely broke! This must be the real cheat, right? I wonder, what it means?
(Lupin)
(Ryuujin)
A derived affinity you get from God affinity? Just what the heck could that be? Although…
[(God) “Haven’t I said that? You can choose that, after your wishes. And you will wish separated from each other. Don’t ask me why, it is because of my boss. You are allowed to tell each other what you wished for, if you meet each other in the other world.]
God has a boss? Who could that be?
Maybe I’ll find out, if I level up the god affinity. But how should I level it up? And, why should I care? Oh, well, actually, I think it comes in quite handy. As getting even stronger stats would only be more annoying for hiding, I could use my power to level up God Affinity. Would be funny, to return home and use magic over there.
Maybe, I could even punch all those freaking warmongers in the face and make them stop.
Or, I could change history with time magic, probably. Preventing World Wars, and so on. But, wouldn’t that somehow destroy the whole space-time-continuum? Actually, if I change the history of one planet in the history of the whole universe, it shouldn’t cause that many problems, right?
Ah, well, why should I even bother? I’d still be too weak to do it easily now.
Hmmm… I wonder, where my class-mates are? I should search for them… but first, the EAA. And, if I level up the , I could probably search for them easily.
(Lupin)
(Ryuujin)

The Afterlife, And How To Survive It (Barely)
Larry Foulery's monotonous, directionless life changed drastically, when he got shot in the face. Reincarnated into a new world, where he has nothing to lose and everything to gain, and with the honor and dedication of an part-time fast food cashier, he is ready to face this adventure. Kinda. The story takes place in the cynical world of Afterlife, where status screens and are considered normal, and the rule of physics cry in a corner, because nobody cares about them, and they are alone and lonely, and their family hasn't called them in years. Anyways, have fun. BTW don't stare too long into the story cover. I get the feeling it stares back. I'm trying to improve my writing, so feel free to bombard me with criticism.
