《The Contact Person》Book 1 Chapter 4: First Blood: part 2

Next morning, Roy woke up and did his morning routine. Yesterday, Mike gave permission for landing for a species named Olgtorb. They were suppossed to land on a nearby hill. After breakfast, Roy flew there using his telekinesis. Roy had no idea how the aliens will avoid detection and fly through all the satellites orbiting earth, but Mike assured him that there is no technology on earth that can see through the standard camouflage used by aliens.
After waiting for an hour, Roy felt something approaching. Since his precognition ability gives him an unconscious awareness of his surroundings, he knew something was approaching towards his location very fast, however the only thing he could see was a blurry outline in the shape of a ship. The blurry outline soundlessly approached and landed in front of him without any sort of disturbance in the surroundings. A portion of the ship opened up and three humanoids walked out. They all had red skin, with various heights. One of them was looking a bit old and Roy was almost sure he was the king. Two aliens followed behind him. One was most likely a girl, cause she had large breasts, almost anime like. Other one should be a male and was glaring at him.
The king stopped in front of Roy and studied him from head to toe. Roy also observed them. All of them had a suit on, and some kind of hammer like thing was hanging from their backs. Mike informed him it was a proton axe, able to slice through or damage most things. Suddenly Roy remembered, he forgot one most important thing when dealing with aliens.
*Mike, what language do they understand?*
*They should have a universal translator with them. Speak in English. The translator will do the rest.*
Roy decided to go with a normal human greetings.
"Welcome to my beautiful planet, the Earth. As you might have already guessed, I am your Contact Person, Kaushik Roy. A pleasure to meet you all."
The king took one step forward and politely introduced himself, "A pleasure to meet you too, esteemed Contact Person. I am Jakarat Fist, king of the strongest empire of Planet Olga. The one on my left is my son, Kurtus Fist. The one my right is my daughter, Minub Fist."
Roy nodded to each of them as a sign of acknowledgment as Jakarat introduced them. Minub was looking at him curiously, while Kurtus was smiling maliciously. Suddenly Roy felt his precognition go off. Kurtus had drew his weapon and charged him. With telekinetic assist, Roy easily dodged out of the way. He almost kicked Kurtus into oblivion, but held himself back at the last moment. Kurtus turned and again charged, but he was blocked by Jakarat.
"We discussed this many times son. Although he might not be one of us, but we must formally challenge him."
Roy noticed Kurtus looking at him and sneering, "Come on father, that was just a simple Olgtorb style greeting. He is supposed to be strong, no? He already seems to be adept at running away though."
The king slung his own axe on his back and bowed apologetically to him, "I deeply apologize for the actions of my son. I hope you are unharmed."
Roy dismissively waved at him and spoke, "It's all right. It's always amusing to watch kids pretending to be a warrior."
Kurtus flared up at the obvious insult, but one stern look from king shut him up. Minub was giggling at the expense of her brother. Kurtus glared at her, but it had no effect.

The king sighed and got down to business.
"I guess you already know and I apologize for not revealing this to you before, but the reason my son came to earth is not for vacation, but for fame. Fame in our species is gathered by defeating strong opponents and my stupid son wants to do that by fighting the strongest force in the universe, namely you."
Mike spoke up, *I told you.*
"I understand your customs king Jakarat and you don't need to apologize for that. What I don't understand is, why have you come to me? There are other contact persons besides me in other planets. Why didn't you go to them?"
"That, Mr Roy, you will have to ask my son. For some reason, he was adamant about fighting you from the last one month earth time."
Roy's eyes narrowed and he shifted his attention from Jakarat to Kurtus. Perhaps he was reading into it too much, but the time when he became the Contact Person was somewhat roughly one month ago. Too close to be a coincidence. He shifted his attention to King and asked, "So what do you propose?"
"A fight. You and Kurtus go into the arena and you teach my stupid son why Contact Persons are revered as the strongest beings."
"Any rules I should know about?"
"Only melee weapons, no guns. No killing your opponents. The one who surrenders or knocked out, loses. Aside from that, everything goes."
Roy thought to himself, *Pretty harmless duel. Maybe I was being paranoid for nothing.*
"I understand your proposal and I accept them king Jakarat. I have one concern though. Where are we suppossed to find an arena?"
The king smiled, "Oh, leave that to me."
Minub took out a device and threw it on the ground a few meters away. A blue transparent bubble popped up and Minub gestured Roy to get into it.
*Mike, what is that?*
*Another popular device among the Olgtorbs. That's an out-shield. It's purpose is to stop things from going outside. You can fight to your hearts content in there and people outside of the shield won't feel a thing.*
After confirming that it was nothing dangerous, he walked in. Behind him, Kurtus also walked in, smiling maliciously.
"Puny human, I don't see any weapon on you. You sure you want to fight me? We Olgtorbs are known for our physical strength. And I know that you humans are far inferior to us in that regard. How about it? Admit defeat right now and I will let you go after one or two broken bones?"
Roy's suspicion came back to him full force, and this time he was sure something was up. It was as if he did research on human species. Could it be?
"Who told you that the Contact Person of earth has changed?"
Kurtus's smile faltered a bit, "What?"
Roy didn't answer him and kept looking at him. Kurtus resumed his malicious smile, "Oh my. You are not as stupid as some of your species. Maybe if you admit defeat and agree to become my servant, I will tell you."
Roy shook his head. He, of all people, didn't expect to encounter such a cliche villain. He simply cracked his neck and Kurtus also readied his axe. They began the moment king Jakarat shouted, "Begin."
Despite being a mountain of muscle, Kurtus was very quick. He closed the distance quickly and swang his axe vertically. Roy effortlessly dodged it sideways and tripped him. Kurtus fell on the ground and slid some distance face first in the dirt, almost like a cartoon. Minub was laughing as hard as she could.

Kurtus got up and charged Roy again. Roy dodged again and tripped him. This cycle went on for some time. Kurtus couldn't land one hit on Roy and was growing angry every minute. Taunts from Roy also didn't help either. After his eleventh try, he picked his face from the ground, and growled menacingly at Roy. He again charged Roy, but this time Roy's precognition went off. Instead of avoiding the axe by shifting his body weight to the side, Roy enveloped himself in a telekinetic shield and jumped backwards. The moment Kurtus's axe made contact with the ground, an explosion went off. Had Roy not shielded himself, he would have been critically injured.
Kurtus waited for the dust to clear. What he just used was called a kinetic explosion. A device at the tip of the axe collected the kinetic energy when the axe is swang. When a button is pressed, the device exploded the collected energy in an arc to the front. Using the kinetic explosion was actually against the rules, but all he could think right at that moment was, "Fuck the rules." He was sure that the puny human was dead or at least close to dead. However, when the dust cleared, he discovered the human standing there unharmed and a look a hatred shadowing upon his face.
Roy couldn't believe this little fucker. He didn't know if this was violation of the rules or not, but he was pissed.
*Mike, he just tried to kill me, right?*
*Looks like it.*
*What does the Olgtorb customs say? Can I kill him as a self defense?*
*No. He can get out saying that it was an accident and the blame would fall on you. However, if you were to somehow make it so that he can't give up, and then keep hitting him until you were satisfied, no one would mind.*
Roy gave Kurtus a Joker style smile and Kurtus's blood ran cold. However, before he could give up, Roy was already in front of him and delivering a right hook to his jaw. For a minute, Kurtus was disoriented. His vision was spinning and there was a sharp pain coming from his broken jaw. Before he could understand what was going on, he felt a fist connect to his chest and several loud cracking sound told him that now he had several broken ribs. Then he felt someone grabbing him by his right ankle and lifting him up like he was a baby. Then he felt himself slamming down onto the earth and the force broke the bones on his right shoulder. Then he was again picked up and slammed down onto the ground again, which broke his spine. He felt himself thrown with considerable force, which broke his left leg after slamming into the out-shield. Then the darkness claimed him.
Roy calmed down after pummeling down the little shit. After his rage subsided a little, he realized that he just potentially crippled a prince while the king was watching.
*Emmm, Mike? Should I have done that?*
*Yes, absolutely. Had you acted out of benevolence and spared him, you would have been branded as weak and all the warmongering aliens would come attacking earth thinking it will be easy picking. Remember, right now you are the shield between the alien forces and earth. The faster they learn that it is unwise to attack you or yours, the better peace of mind you will have for yourself.*
*You know what Mike? I couldn't agree more.*
Suddenly, a crash behind him broke him out of his inner thinking. Looking back, he saw Minub had jumped into the arena, brandishing her own axe.
"Fight me." She screamed and vanished from the spot. Roy's precognition went off and he blindly dodged to the side. A moment later, Minub's axe cleaved vertically at the place where he was standing a moment ago. Somehow, she managed to appear at his back and with a speed fast enough to surprise him.
*She used some kind of teleportation device, but without a destination marker, which should be impossible.* Mike commented in his ear.
Roy used the same tactics he used when he was fighting Kurtus. With telekinetic assist, he launched himself like a bullet and delivered a lightning fast right hook towards Minub's jaw. His fist was hardened using telekinesis and it was bound to break her jaw. However moments before he made contact with her face, something odd happened. The left side of her face darkened rapidly and when his fist connected, he felt like he was punching a steel wall. She took several step back due to the force of the hit, but otherwise she was okay. The dark skin on her left side face rapidly faded and went back to normal red color.
*Just now, what the fuck was that?* Roy cursed in his mind.
*That was some sort of nano tech body armor. This girl sure is interesting.* Mike commented again.
*So she has some kind of armor. Great. Then I will need to use the armor piercing ammo.* Roy nodded to himself and lunged again. He dodged one of her sneaking move and sent a kick to her head. As expected, just before his kick connected, her skin darkened. However, after the kick connected, she took some steps back, then collapsed, unconscious.
*What did you do?* Mike asked intrigued.
*I rattled her brain using telekinetic shock wave when I kicked her. Her skin might be tough, but her brain ain't.*
After the fight was over, Roy saw some people come out of the ship. They put the Kurtus on a stretcher and rush back into the ship. Another group of them picked up Minub on a stretcher and went back. The shield device powered down and king Jakarat came to Roy.
"I thank you for not killing my son. He broke the dueling rules and it was within your right to kill him. However, I think the punishment you have given him, is way worse than death. With our medical technology, his body will recover from the wounds, but his fame will not. He will have to live as the man who didn't know his limits and dared to challenge a power far greater than his own. And I apologize for my daughter's selfish behavior. I also thank you for not harming her anymore than you needed to."
Roy internally thanked his luck, *Actually I totally aimed to break every bone in your daughter's body. Thank her weird body armor that I couldn't do it.*
"If you don't mind, can I ask you some questions?"
"Sure, go ahead."
"During our fight, Minub used a device to teleport short distances. She also had some kind of nano tech body armor. Why didn't Kurtus had those?"
"She is a scientist. At first she planned to open a shop where she could sell her inventions. However none of the other Olgtorbs had the mental capacity to use the devices effectively in a fight. If you want to know about the devices, you will have to ask her that. She loves to create devices like that."
Minub had no wound on her and she was only unconscious for an hour. As soon as she regained consciousness, she ran out from the medical bay and sought out Roy. He was resting under the shade of tree outside of the ship. She boldly walked up to him and sat down beside him. Roy opened one of his eyes to look at he briefly and closed his eyes again. Both of them sat in silence for a minute before she decided to speak up.
"Soooo, you are the Contact Person?"
"Yes."
"Can I become one?"
"Maybe."
"How do I become one? Do I have to take a written test, or something?"
"It's a secret."
"I can keep secrets. I am super good at keeping secrets."
Roy opened his eyes and took a good look at Minub. She was red skinned, like all the Olgtorbs. She was almost 2 and half meters tall. Two large breasts dangled from her chest and an equally big hip accentuated her narrow waist. All in all, she was a damn gorgeous woman. She noticed his stare and smiled mischievously. She put her hands beneath her breasts and pushed them up, making them seem even bigger. Then she wiggled her eyebrows at him and Roy laughed at her antics.
"If I tell you, I will have to kill you."
"I can think of some other ways. You human males like my body right? If you tell me your secret, I will let you touch me."
"I am going to give you a reverse proposal. If you can give them to me, I will tell you my secret."
"Do you want to know how my inventions work?"
"There's that too, but no. Someone who knew the previous Contact Person told your brother that I was newly appointed in this role. I need to know who."
"Oh, that. I know her."
Roy immediately sat up and turned to look at Minub. "You do?"
She deadpanned, "Well duh. She is my friend. I have known her like, forever. I think right now she was living somewhere around here."
Roy perked up at her answer. "Does this woman have a name?"
"Sure she does. Her name is Suu Jin."

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
