Chapter 07

Matt’s POV

(Secretary) “And that’ll do for the paperwork, you’ll get your money at the same time as Rosalyn, any questions?”

(Matt) “None that Rose can’t answer for me”

(Secretary) “Thats good, I probably won’t see you till your last day here so I’ll say this now, good luck on the job and be careful not to die though there shouldn’t be anything too dangerous in these woods”

After the secretary finished what he wanted to say he went back to his paperwork so Rose started walking out the door with me silently following behind her, we stayed like this for awhile.

(Rose) “ ‘Sighs’ You're weaker than I thought you’d be”

(Matt) “I wasn’t that weak”

(Rose) “You could barely do anything during that fight and only caught your opponent by surprise with your power”

(Matt) “Well that was my first fight so it couldn’t be helped”

(Rose) “How did you survive in the forest till now?”

(Matt) “...um I somehow did.

(Rose) “Somehow?”

(Matt) “So what else are we doing today?”

(Rose) “In an hour we start our patrols so we can do anything till then… how about we find some useful things for you to eat for your abilities?”

(Matt) “Like what?”

(Rose) “Hmm… oh”

She ran off into a nearby store we were about to pass by and came out a minute later with 10 different colored vials in her hands..

(Rose) “Here eat this”

She hands me a small yellow vial which I drank, nothing seemed to happen but Rose was showing a nervous expression after a few seconds of waiting.

(Matt) “What?”

(Rose) “Are you ok?”

(Matt) “Yes why? What did you feed me?”

(Rose) “Your skin…”

(Matt) “What?”

I lifted my hand to my face and it was starting to turn into a mild shade of purple.

(Matt) “What did you feed me?”

(Rose) “Poison”

(Matt) Glaring at Rose “What kind?”

(Rose) “A fast acting one that seeps into a persons blood and slowly kills them, It’s also suppose to be painful”

(Matt) “It’s not painful but it’s weird having purple skin”

(Rose) “It might not hurt you cause it’s only painful to those with blood and since your a slime and that’s not your true body, maybe you should transform back to a slime then your elf form”

(Matt) “Or you could just feed me the cure to this poison assuming you bought it along with the poison you feed me”

(Rose) “Ah that’s this one”

I was handed a purple Vial which gave off a ‘poisonous’ vibe but I still drank it, I still didn’t feel any different but when I looked at my hand again it was already starting to turn to it’s original skin color.

(Matt) “Why’d you give me the poisonous one first anyway?”

(Rose) Smiling “I wanted to see what would happen”

(Matt) “What are the other potions you have?”

(Rose) “4 of these are more poisons while the 4 others are their antidotes and a mana and health regen potion”

(Matt) “Those will be useful give me the health potion next”

I was given a vial with green liquid in it which I drank quickly, It didn’t taste that good but it was basically medicine so oh well, I tried turning my finger into a health potion and it quickly started dripping onto the ground so I turned it back.

(Matt) “I should probably drink the poisons first and antidotes last”

(Rose) “Yeah you’d probably scare a couple people if you had purple skin”

Luckily no one we passed by noticed the stuff I was drinking or the effects it was having on my body which is probably a good thing.

(warning to readers I based Matts personality based on what I’d do in his situation so he may change from time to time based on how i’m feeling at the time. I’m trying to stick between 500-2000 words per chapter and don’t ask for more since I don’t have the motivation to do 5000 per chapter)
