Chapter 06
Matt’s POV
Before leaving the blacksmiths I reabsorb the rusty sword into my body and thank the blacksmith again for his generosity.
After walking for awhile Rose starts talking.
(Rose) “why’d you eat the sword right in front of him?”
Thinking over her question I answered honestly.
(Matt) “I forgot since you didn’t seem to mind telling the tailors that I was a monster so I didn’t you’d mind the blacksmith knowing as well”
(Rose) “I guess so but next time ask first”
(Matt) “Ok”
After that we walk in silence with Rose heading towards a building near the center of the village that represented the village soldiers headquarters.
Entering the building Rose walks straight up to the front desk.
(Rose) “Excuse me can I get my friend hired to the same job as me for the remaining 3 days I’ll be working here?”
(Secretary) “What’s his name and does he have a guild card?”
(Rose) “His names Matt and no he doesn't have one”
(Secretary) “Then you’ll have to get him tested by one of our soldiers”
(Rose) “Ok, when can he be tested?”
(Secretary) “Theres always someone on standby for testing people so you can get him tested at any time”
(Rose) “Then can he be tested right now?”
(Secretary) “Just give me a minute to go ask the Soldier on duty for testing”
As he says that he gets up without waiting for a reply and walks through a door.
(Matt) “How am I suppose to fight?”
(Rose) “Can’t you use your powers to turn your skin into iron and easily win?”
Oh yeah, I guess I can do that, so I start imagining my skin to turn into a skin colored iron around my arms chest and head making sure to make it as solid as I can make the iron without inhibiting my flexibility then start to change my body to fit my imagination and as I'm finishing my changes The secretary comes back with a tall well muscled man behind her.

(Vinca)“Hello my name is Vincent and I’ll be conducting the test for Matt If you will follow me to the training area”
(Matt) “Ok Vinca” ((wonder how long it’ll take for you readers to figure out what Matt’s been using to nickname these characters))
(Vinca) “...Vinca?”
(Matt) “I prefer to give people nicknames sorry if it bothers you”
(Vinca) “Ah I see well since It isn’t that bad of a name I won't mind being being called that”
As we walk out the front door then around the building towards it’s back I wonder on my chances of winning since I have almost no fighting ability other than my slime abilities but it should be enough unless this guy can cut iron with his sword.
Reaching the training area with Vinca and Rose.
(Vinca) “The rules are simple no killing blows, no receiving outside assistance, anything else is allowed including magic if you accidently kill me then you won’t get the job and be banned from this village any questions?”
(Matt) “Nope”
(Vinca) “Then your friend…”
(Rose) “Rozalin”
(Vinca) “Can start the test”
(Rose) Without waiting she shouts “BEGIN!”
As soon as Rose yelled begin Vinca charged at me getting ready to plunge his sword into my stomach which I easily avoided since it was a slow charge but Vinca turned and did a horizontal slash which hit me easily but didn’t pierce through my skin which surprised but didn’t faze Vinca that much since he followed up with another slash towards my arm this time I didn’t try to dodge but reached out to grab Vinca only to be have him change the direction of his swing to try and chop my reaching hand but failed to pierce through my skin but it was enough to push my hand away from him.

(Vinca) “What kind of magic class are you to be able to harden your skin to this degree?”
(Rose) “B rank” ((G-F-E-D-C-B-A-S-SS-SSS and god rank magic))
(Vinca) “He’s not a fighter so mage or is he only good as a wall?”
As he says that I spit out a piece of me at his foot and it sticks onto Vinca turning into a heavy piece of iron connecting him to the ground which surprised him enough to give me a chance to give him my iron fist of pain, hoping to have one shot him my hopes were dashed as he got back up while holding onto his chest in obvious pain.
(Vinca) “Oh so he was using magic to make his skin as hard as iron and can do the same to his bodily fluids, that seems quite handy, well you passed my test so you can go back to the front desk to tell them you won and I hope I can learn at least a little about your powers before you leave with Rozalin.”

Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”

This is actually a group of short stories I did some time ago. The first group are 3 stories, all starring the same Protagonist but with different foes and ways of how the stories play out. Past this I have other story lines that I have done this with and will likely use this heading to put them out there. - Note: The Book Picture is the location of the Portal the car went through. There are 4 such statues set across from each other and then two of the large pillars, set across the street from one another. New Story Line: Lost is about a man lost in a world that Used to have summoned hero's, ones where the mages who did the summonings did not close the pathways properly, so sometimes people from all across time, space, and dimension end up falling in to their world. Some become heroes, some 'Demon Lords' and some something else. I have 3 versions of this story which I will put here, one chapter a day. 2cd version was massively flawed, which I only realized while sharing it. As such I am skipping it and moving on to the 3rd version. The 3rd Story of Lost is about a man who mysteriously fell in to a world based on video games, complete with leveled zones, levels of skills, professions and so forth. Being from a world like ours, with the knowledge of these things, gives him a decided edge and better potential than normal. --------------------------------------- New story - New Life, Old Soul is the story of a man who used desperate experimental magic to grant himself a new life in a new world. This is an Iseki story with a single twist as no outside force dropped or summoned this soul to its new life. Come and see what sort of world and life this willing traveler of Realities unknown experiences. I will try and post once a day, though times may vary depending on my the wierdness that is my life. ^-^ ------------------------------ Cosmic Chaos A Void Maker tried to destroy several realities, by forcing their crystal shells in to each other. The AOs of those realms fought back the best they could, including a desperate play of opening random portals between the divergent universes and the void. Several things, peoples, and animals fell through these portals. In the grand scheme of things very little of this had long reaching consequences. However, Some of these universes gained new time lines from these events.This is a story of one such event, of one very lost traveler dropped in to a very different world than the one he came from. Tags: Isekai, Gender Change (Male to Female), Magic, Drama (lets face it most of my stories have a bit of this in them even when I don't tag them thus, though I don't know how 'Realistic' the characters are.) -------------------------------

When he gets the opportunity to change all of that, he takes it with both hands. Please note this is an edited version of my story ‘city of captives’. It follows a similar structure but I’ve ironed out some of the kinks. If you read that version, much of this will be similar though there are some differences. This is a slow burning progression fantasy. Please expect at least two chapters per week. I love writing this story but I do have unfortunate things to deal with like work and life outside of writing. I may be able to write and edit more than that, but it will never be less!
