《I made a contract with a beast.》Chapter 15

Sinnwell came into view gradually, small dots becoming houses as they drove closer.
"I've never introduced myself, now have I? I'm Krill, Krill Thyle, nice to meet you." The driver gave her a grin as he parked the truck on the large road.
Hara gave a mirthful chuckle and laughed, "I'm Hara, Hara Lycal, but you already know that."
"Took the name of the old bat, didn't 'ya?" He joked as Hara choked on her laugh.
"I dare you to say that to her face." She gasped between laughter, he paled.
"No, I like my balls where they are, thank you very much."
Max prowled over to them and gave them both a dry look, "What's the matter, found Felder in a ditch?" He rose a single brow to show just how unimpressed he was.
"That would be a sight I'd pay to see, nah, dumbass over there just called my mentor an old bat." Hara admitted gleefully and Maxs' lips twitched up in a smile, "Look who's gotten gutsy."
He turned around to check on the rest of the people that came along and said over his shoulder, "Bet you'd never have dared to say that to her face."
"Oh yeah, yeah, knock it off alright, I said it like I saw it." Krill grouched and Hara gave him a wry smile.
Hara yawned and snatched the coffee from Krill's hand, he watched her with a smirk as he turned around to join Max at the front of the building Ignota group.
Hara chucked the coffee down, her face contorting at the awful taste, she hated coffee.
"Hello, it's me, Hara Lycal, we've just arrived, where do we meet you?" Hara spoke as soon as the call was answered.
"Now, preferably, we're at the north entrance, I'd appreciate it if you came as soon as possible before we lose our patience."The voice from the night before snapped at her and Hara glowered at her phone.

"Oh, really? Your patience? Not ours?" She hissed, not appreciating his tone of voice after more than 30 hours without sleep.
"Yes, ours, we've waited for you all morning, considering you told us that you would arrive at 8, did you look at the clock? We've been out and ready to load for hours, with no call-back from you."
"What do you mean? I told you, I'd call if I knew when we'd arrive, I tried calling you at 10 but the call didn't go through." She said, looking at the rows of houses, most of them had the blinds drawn, and if they didn't, the windows were either empty or occupied by glaring Sinnwell dwellers.
"Who even told you that we'd be arriving at 8?" She asked, feeling a lightbulb pop in her head.
"Christen Wells called us this morning... was he not from Ignota?" The man on the other line asked, suddenly calm and with a mild voice, Hara barked out a laugh in response.
"No, there's no one from Ignota going by that name." She informed him and marched up to Max, giving him a wry and unimpressed smile as she said, "I'll hand the phone to my partner, I'm sure you have a bit of planning to do."
Maxs' right eye twitched as he took the phone and turned his back to her, gnashing her teeth, the forester marched back to her truck and plopped back into her seat.
"What's the matter, Hara?" Krill asked from beside her, already back in his seat and the seatbelt locked in place, yet another coffee in his hand, this one steaming hot instead of freezing cold.
Hara eyed the coffee distrustfully and shook her head.
"Sinnwell, what more can I say." She informed him dryly and he tapped the steering wheel lightly, "What'd they do?" He rose an eyebrow and the young woman sagged in her seat.

"Called to mix our arrival time up, the delivery team is tired and likely awake since 6. They are, understandably, pissed at us and the guy I called harped at me when I called again."
Krill choked on his coffee, "How'd that happen, didn't you call at 10?" he coughed and bent over, Hara once again eyed the coffee while scooting over in her seat.
"The line was down."
"Bastards." He said between coughs, "A'yup" she said, popping the "P" obnoxiously, her driver shook his head as he regained his breath.
"I hate delivery week." He complained weakly and Hara chuckled lowly, "You tell me, I got to tell the chief that everything's messed up and got to handle that mess." She leveled him a dry look and focused on the scene outside the window. she saw him flinch from the corner of her eyes.
Her driver soon complained from next to her but Hara was more focused on Max, who had started pacing around, his hand waving every once in a while as his expression contorted somewhat comically.
In the end, he hung up and was red in the face, he wrangled back a frustrated cry and ran an aged hand through his hair.
He stormed up to his truck and then they were able to hear his voice through the radios.
"Everyone back in the cars and get ready to drive, break is over, we'll meet the delivery team at the north entrance." His voice was cold and stormy.
Krill whistled next to her as he started the engine and waited for the go-ahead to start driving, Hara gave a loud sigh and closed her eyes, listening to the cursing and shuffling of her fellow Ignotants as they scrambled back into the trucks.
"Truck 1. is driving, truck 2, wait for the go-ahead and then start." Max barked as his truck, truck 1, began to drive at a steady pace along the suspiciously empty road.
The rest of the trucks soon followed and the roar of engines drowned out most of the complaints and curses of those around her, the truck she sat in was the last to start.
The streets were empty of people and Hara wasn't surprised, if this little stunt was as planned as Hara thought it to be, then they would have gotten notice to stay inside and close every available shop possible for the day they would arrive.
Sinnwell and Ignota hated each other, that was no secret, but their hatred ran deep, and while Ignota didn't do too much, other than retaliate, Sinnwell took petty to another level.
When someone from Ignota arrived, most shops would refuse business, with very few exceptions, and said exceptions would only sell of odder business at much higher rates, even if shop owners didn't dislike Ignotas people, they were still forced to discriminate against them as the higher-ups of the village would do their best to crush whoever went against their orders and ideals, resulting in Sinnwell looking like a ghost town whenever Ignotas people were said to arrive.
Hara heard a wet squelch and saw the remnants of a potato run down the side of the truck in front of them, she growled and rolled up the window to her right.
"Roll up your windows." She said over the radio, a small reminder for those who had forgotten it.
She had rolled down her window just in time as an egg was thrown at her window, not a second after, she frowned and followed the path of the egg, finding a child standing at a window of a house, grinning sadistically as he readied another egg.
And people visiting from outside wondered why Ignotas people hated passing through Sinnwell.
