《B1nary Bl00d》Chapter 8

As I am being sucked out I re-create my vacuum suit around me. I'm flying down now, heading towards the star. I look around and see there are massive solar panels below me. They are attached to the dison sphere be giant metal ropes. I know I must be moving pretty fast but it barely seems like I'm getting any closer.
I move my nanites and have them wrap around a rope that is, thankfully, pretty close. I have them form a bunch of rollers that I then wrap around the rope. Once that's done, I slowly have them start breaking. After about five minutes I have finally come to a complete stop.
Now I have another problem. How on earth am I supposed to get back up? It's hard enough to not fall down, I am fighting gravity after all. Well, I guess I will just have to work my way up slowly. I add tiny spikes to the rollers, then start to force them to pull me up.
***
It took so long that I fell asleep multiple times on the way up, but I've finally made it all the way to the top. I look up at the surface and see grooves that are about 3 inches deep and are wider at the top. I bet that the construction bots would use these for moving around while outside the dison sphere. I can use them too, for moving around.
See, I have a brilliant Idea, I'm going to destroy the metal ropes holding up the solar panels. I think this will be the fastest way to get around while also doing damage. So to start, I'm going to destroy the one I climbed up on.
Man, this is boring. At least when I was coming up I had to focus on it so it wasn't too bad, but this requires almost no effort. I've cut down several hundred by now. I've kinda been going in a line. I'm still hoping to see something that looks important but haven't yet.

Finally, I've found something that looks important. It's a large circular dome. kinda like an upside-down crater. As I move to the interior of the crater-dome thing, I see a square hole with rounded edges that leads up into it.
I move myself up into it. As I go up, it gets wider and wider. As I look around, I see a lot of wires and tubes going into a central machine. Then I realize that this is one of the spots where energy came out of the dison sphere. Perfect. I think. I use my nanites to move myself to the center part, then have them eat away at it. After about five minutes of this, Red flashing lights go off.
At first, I think that I've set off an alarm, but no security robots or anything comes out. Then I look back to where I was having the nanites break down the machine and see the problem. The metal is glowing red hot. I must have broken its cooling system.
Which means that... OH, CRAP ...It going to melt down. I Start moving my self as far away as possible from it, as fast as possible. As I am getting away, I see a bright flash, then darkness.

Right Side of Hell
Albus Dumbledore was sure he made the right choice sacrificing an innocent child. Too late he understood how terrible that mistake was. Harry Potter was not what he wanted him to be, he was not what the magical world expected him to be. He was not a replica of James, instead, he inherited more of Lily. Far too much to be convenient.

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.
