‘Is this really the right thing to do?’ I look over at the newbies who are listening to Ms.Baker. ‘Is it really right to right to just leave them when I have the ability to protect them.’ I shake my head. ‘I need to focus. There is nothing I can do for them.’ I look down at my wrist and click the menu button on my watch.
Mission: Survival
Survive: 24h

Side Mission
Introduction- Inform the new people of the situation. 100p
Xenomorph facehugger- 10p
Xenomorph drone- 100p
Xenomorph warrior- 500p D ranked reward
Xenomorph queen- 2000p C ranked reward
‘This really is terrible. I’ve never seen ranked rewards offered as rewards.I’m going to assume that the xenomorph I faced last time was a drone. Just that drone was able to wipe the rest of the party.’ I shudder. ‘I can’t imagine what a warrior is like not to mention a queen. 2000p that’s double the reward for surviving and a C ranked reward is 2 steps higher than anything I’ve gotten up until this point.’ I take a deep breathe. ‘Calm. I need to stay calm.’
“Charlie the moment the barrier drops we need to run and find a place to hide.” I say.
“What? Why?” Charlie asks.
“Because the enemy we will face is too strong. We cannot beat them.” I answer.
“It can’t possibly be that bad.” Charlie responds.
“Charlie, the lowest tier Xenomorph was able to slaughter almost everyone on my first mission. I only survived because someone sacrificed their life to save me. There are 2 types of enemies stronger than that. That’s not even taking into account the number of drones. Do you really think we can beat that?” I ask my question genuine.

“Wow I didn’t realize it was that bad.” He says. “You’re right we need to find somewhere where we can hold out until this is over.”
‘Mission start.’ The mechanical voice decrees.
“Let’s move.” I say as I take off in a sprint towards the end of the corridor. Charlie and Dave soon follow. We sprint for 5 minutes until we reach the end of the corridor. I place my back against the wall where the two walls of the corridor meet. Charlie stands behind the cargo container near the corner and watches one corridor while Dave watches the other. ‘Damn I still don’t have enough endurance. I need to work harder so this doesn’t happen and I don’t weigh Charlie and Dave down.’ Once I catch my breath I ask Charlie, “Do you think we should keep moving?”
“I don’t know, honestly. If we keep moving we might find a better position but we might not. It’s up to you to decide if we should take that risk.” He answers.
‘Thanks for pushing the responsibility on me.’ “I think we should keep moving, but maybe at a more manageable pace.” I say with a grin. ‘Wait, why am I grinning? He can’t see my facial expressions.’ I start to jog down the other corridor. Charlie jogs next to me and Dave jogs behind us. We continue jogging until eventually we find a door.
I look at Charlie and Dave. “Dave you’re going to go through the door first, Charlie you will follow after him, and I will follow last after I open the door for Dave.”
“Affirmative.” Dave responds.
“Ok.” Charlie says.
I walk up to the door and inspect it. The door is made of the same steel that everything else is. The only reason I can tell it’s a door is because there is a handle on it along with the indent in the wall that the door is placed in. I walk up to the door and test to see which way it opens. I push against the door but it doesn’t budge. I pull the door but it doesn’t budge. I try pulling it into the wall. That makes it move. I push the door back and signal to Dave and Charlie that I’m ready. I place my body against the door.

“3, 2, 1. GO!” I pull the door into the wall and Dave quickly enters the room. Soon after Charlie enters the room with his Gauss Rifle at the ready. I enter a little bit after Charlie my Long Las against my shoulder and my finger on the trigger. I sweep my eyes to the right but only see a hallway that goes on. I quickly sweep my eyes to the left and I see the same thing. I then look forward and find a door identical to the one I just opened on the other side of the hallway. Dave and Charlie are both watching different sides of the hallway. I step into the hallway and place my back against the wall.
“Everything is clear on my side.” Charlie says.
“Likewise.” Dave answers.

Armored
600 years have passed since the fall of civilization. The earth went through massive changes and core beasts now reign supreme. All that still exists of mankind are ruins and a scattering of walled cities. Festering pits of the worst humanity has to offer, protected by "knights" clad in a mech-like technology called armor. Nobles rule over everyone, little more than warlords. The middle class wants to make a buck and become nobles. And the rats want to survive. But everyone wants a piece of the ancient technology lost to mankind hundreds of years ago. Find one piece and it could change your life forever. For better or worse. This is my second attempt at a story. I haven't been writing for more than 3 or 4 months all combined. I hope to improve as I go. This is first and foremost a learning experience for me.
