"Keep your eyes open," Fey tells the man she was partially dragging. "I'm not taking the effort to bury you if you croak."
"I'd prefer burial...at sea." He says, his eyes drooping slightly.
"The best you'll get is a ditch, so do yourself a favor and stay awake." She says, wiping blood out of her eyes as she does.
"Better be a good ditch." He responds with a shake of his head, his black hair waving slightly despite the blood that stuck to it.
Fey looks around, the dark cave not doing anything to impede her eyesight. The issue however wasn't sight, but direction. She could the howls of those creatures bouncing down the cave, and she didn't know where to go next. Three paths, no information of where the enemies were, and a dying comrade. Grunting in effort she begins dragging him into the middle path, her leg slowing her down too much for her liking.
"You could probably move faster without m-"
"Shut up." Fey says, cutting him off.
Suddenly she hears a close growl, turning she spots one of the creatures stalking towards them. Slowly and silenty she leans the black haired man against the wall. The creature begins sniffing the air and then starts walking in her direction. Fey goes to pull her axe off her back but grabs nothing but air, cursing herself for dropping her weapon earlier she instead draws her knife and enters a defensive stance. The creature eventually stops and points its heads at her. Two heads protruded from its muscular quadropred body, both were armed with rows of sharp teeth meant for tearing into flesh. An angled, almost doglike, face contained no eyes and instead sported a large nose. It's been tracking them through the blood, Fey knew it from the beginning but the sheer stench of the blood on them only really registered now. Fey continued staring at it, watching the wagging tail in hopes it would just leave. Her luck doesn't win out as the creature growls, and its tail goes rigid. It snaps into a sprint towards her, its narrow body easily closing the distance in less than a second.

Fey sends her good foot out in a kick to attempt it stun it but it quickly changes direction and lunges after her other leg. Fey attempts to move her leg but the wounded limb refuses to listen as the creature bears down on it. One of its jaws clamp onto her ankle with the other bites into her upper thigh. Fey stifles her yell of pain as she stabs her knife down into one of its head, the strike quickly destroys it and the other head releases her out of pain. It retreats away quickly, nudging the now limp head with its good remaining one. A whimper comes out of the functioning head before a growl of rage as it charges at her again. Fey waits a tad long than before, putting her good leg out as bait. In its blind rage it lunges at her leg just for her to pull it up at the last second. Its snaps at the air and a moment later the heel of a boot crashes into its skull, ending its life. Huffing in effort she attempts to turn just for another burst of pain to race up her leg. Looking down she sees blood pouring out of the wounds, even now she can feel the effects of blood loss taking hold.
Shaking her head she stumbles back over to her comrade. "No more rest, need to get moving."
"You won't be able to move me." He says, not looking at her.
"Yes I can, now give me yo-"
"I won't make it out of this cave, and if you stay you won't either," He says looking up at her, his face stone having already accepted what must happen. "I can hear wind further down the path."
"No." Fey says as she attempts to drag him off the ground.

"Please Fey." He says.
"I won't...I...We're all that's left." She says, slumping to her knees.
The man looks at her in sadness, memories both good and bad running through his head. Then with the smile of a dead man he forces himself off the ground by using the wall as leverage.
"Get moving." He says.
"Stop saying that, I wo-"
"If I'm going to die, I'm going to die standing," He says, looking down at her. "You'll do the same some day, just like everyone else. But please, for my sake...don't do it today."
He puts his hand out to help her up. Fey looks up at him for a moment, then nods as she grabs his hand. He manages to pull her up despite both of their injuries, his pain not meaning much anymore.
"Give'em hell." Fey says, her eyes watering slightly.
"Always." He says with a grin.
Fey then hesitantly lets go of his hand and begins stumbling further down the tunnel. The man watches her go until eventually she's out of sight. Sighing he looks at his shaking, blood covered hands. Steadying himself he closes them hands into fists, and turns to face down the closing beasts.
Fey continues to limp towards the wind. Suddenly a barrage of howling and growling hit her ears, a chorus of yelping follows and then silence. Fey continues forward, not able to think about it now. A minute of limping later she sees light shining from a small hole in the cavern roof. Looking through it she can see the green of grass. Clenching her fist she feels her bones preparing for the impact. Without hesistation she slams her fist into the stone around the hole. She suddenly hears the howling growing nearer. She begins to hit the stone, again and again until eventually she manages to make the hole just big enough to squeeze through. Climbing out she turns and begins punching the stone around the hole once again, eventually collapsing it all together. Leaning back on the grass in exhaustion she stares up at the sky, the trees swaying in the breeze.

In a small cabin just outside a larger settlement a brunette woman was sitting on her porch, nursing the small baby bump on her stomach. Sighing in comfort she scans the silent forest ahead of her. Suddenly that silence is broken as a cry of anguish echoed out of it. Jumping up she runs into her house, and turns towards a rather small man with a bloody hand print around his throat.
"Dexter, someone's in the forest!" She yells.
"Ok..." He says, looking at her confused. "That's my problem why?"
"Becuase its your job to help them and they definitely need help. They sounded hurt." She explains.
"Will I be getting paid?" He asks sarcastically.
She thumps him on the head harshly at the comment. "I'm still you big sister! Either get out there and find them or I kick you out till you do."
The man looks at her in amusement before hopping up. "You're the boss."
He walks out the door and waves bye.
"You better find them!" She yells as he moves away.
"Will do, Mona!" He says with a laugh as he begins jogging into the forest.
