when I was first starting out I thought my ability was over powered and strong, however that worry was put to rest when I saw just how many people are stronger then me, and as I grew I thought I was getting stronger. however I was only becoming strong enough to survive by the skin of my teeth, I would not be able to protect Kate or anyone else if I cant become strong. and right now I am testing Just how strong I am using my most powerful skills against someone over 100,000 times my own level, my level is 2. Verod's is level 390,036. you know in hindsight I really should have questioned if I could win. even with stats that put me significantly stronger then my level does

Lets see what happens when I use Burst. I gather my energy and a blue screen comes up

I should have knew. right next to my health and Mana bar which are red and blue, a new green bar came up. I was not worried because I now had Burst, maybe it was worth the trade off?

"How long do you want the fight to be?" I asked wondering how much time I want to condense into the burst.

"30 minuets" Verod said with a smile, "If you cant do that then tell me what the blue box says" Verod said while jumping back and getting into a fighting position. I tried to set it to 30 minuets however ..

[Burst has to last 10 Minuets or less]

"It has to last 10 minuets or less" I said back to him, to this he gave a complicated expression and then came over to me.

"then make it 10 minuets" he said before Jumping back into a fighting stance. I complied and made it 10 minuets.

[For the next 10 minuets all physical stats are multiplied by 5100. after 10 minuets you will not be able to stand from exhaustion.]

Wow that is a big cost, however when surrounded by fire I can absorb it for Mana and we are in a Lava desert. and I can use Healing Magic. I will get time to grind both.

"You ok there Boy? you look like you just got a huge increase in strength. that will hurt later" Verod said in a concerned voice. also screw hurting later this hurts a lot now, every part of my body hurts like hell. but now is not the time to complain. I start this fight by dashing over to him and using Dragon Claw. he evaded to the side however I used Dragon Legs to kick off the ground and then Knee him in the gut. causing [-90,500] Damage and he flew back. I however felt a lot of pain at me knee, he did nothing however the pain felt like he was the one to hit me. and it was more scary to see the blue box in my vision.

using Burst Mode hurts me. not as much as it did him but that hurt a lot. I saw him get up in the distance and he dashed back over to me with a smile on his face. he had drawn his sword and it was glowing with strange Runes on the side. then started sending countless sword strikes at me which I avoided but not easily however.

the blue boxes kept coming, at this rate I would run out of health before the 10 minuets. Verod must have noticed something because he stopped and signalled for me to do the same. he looked unhappy. "John, you are using Burst wrong, at this rate you will burn through your body before the 10 minuets are up" Verod said and to this I was shocked, there was another way to use it? "you use 'Burst' Mode in short Bursts. you use it for a moment before stopping, use it to attack for a moment or to dodge or to take a hit. you use it for a quick boost in physical ability then you stop. do you understand now?" Verod said to me, sure enough just by concentrating I could turn Burst Mode on and off like it was a light switch, so that was how you use it. "for now, lets continue, unless you are to scared of course" Verod said with a grin as he powered up on more time.

"come on old man. you sure you can keep up with me?" I said in retort and I would most likely regret it however he smiled even more and then dashed at me. I activated Burst and grabbed the blunt part of his sword and then used Dragon Leg to kick him in the face and send him back and then turned burst off. he landed on his feet but continued back for a few meters before dashing back at me. He then Sliced me in half, or he would have but I blink Stepped behind him and used Dragon Claw, he vanished and appeared behind me, so he can do it to. after repeating the teleportation game he eventually grazed me with his sword, I was in Burst Mode however. [-600,100 HP] with a graze he caused so much damage, however what happened next shocked me even more, I healed the injury and lost most my Mana in the process however he got a deep cut on my arm, [-600,100 HP] it was the same, maybe to do more damage to me it does not matter where you hit you just have to hope for a critical hit? anyway I jumped backwards into the Lava and started draining it for Mana. he noticed what I was doing and his sword glowed for a second. he then swung his sword so fast the Lava parted and I was left on the ground beneath it, he then jumped in to his newly created gap in the Lava and we started to exchange blows with every his being countered and every counter being blocked. the lava was about to reach us and him to wanting me to regain my health kicked me out the pond of Lava with Dragon Leg and I was sent flying.

"Nice John, I am proud of you" Verod said as he grew wings of a Divine Dragon, 4 times the size of him and he flew up to meet me in the air. I then used Dragon Legs and Burst Mode to kick off him and land on the ground, only to find him on the ground waiting for me, he cut my eye and I struggled to see for a moment, it also automatically turned off my Dragon Eye which was becoming useful, I then opened my left eye and he then felt the full weight of my eye, for a second before he vanished and sliced my back with his sword, total damage received was [-490,000]

it was painfully obvious he was holding back however he looked like he was having fun, surprisingly enough so was I. we then jumped back at each other except just before I hit him with Dragon Claw I Blink Stepped behind him and Dragon Clawed his back, he fell to the ground, then fell through the ground as the sand parted around him, he then came out from under me and pulled me into the ground. I was able to move well as it was Only sand however not as well as he could, the worst part was the fact I could no longer see him, to much sand in the way, then after Dragon Clawing me several times he kicked me out, my health was low however I landed In lava and drained as much as possible into what he thought would be Mana to heal myself however.

Interesting. I then fire all that Lava at his face and send him flying. allowing me to drain some other Lava and get into a combat stance. He then Jumps into the air and surrounds himself in Dragon Aura like it was a drill, he then flew straight down at me and even though I used Dragon Claw to try and defend he broke through it and forced me to avoid, however his aura broke and he dive kicked me with Dragon Leg. sending me flying however with some Electric Magic I learned a while ago I paralysed his leg, he did not notice until he fell face first to the ground. with this chance I use my Dragon Claw and swipe at him 3 times until he avoided by warping behind me and going to stab me with his sword, I Blink Stepped behind him and then used Burst and used Dragon Claw on both my hands, I then trapped him in-between both claws dealing a lot of damage, he then warped beneath my dragon claws and slashed my gut. I then Had an evil thought.

"NO! I cant kill another one!!" Verod said as he moved to my side, I then used Electric Magic and warped it around my body, when he touched me he got fully paralysed, that took a lot of Mana however I then switched back.

after that I realised I was low on Mana, this I used Dragon Pulse. reducing what little Mana I had to 0 then I started laying Blow after Blow into Verod, he was getting low on health however he also had healing magic, returning his health to full. I on the other hand was exhausted I was still fighting however my Stamina bar was getting low and soon I would not be able to stand, we had exchanged blow for blow and he was coming out on top each time. I charged up for one final attack, I used Signal Flair and blocked his vision of me, I then dashed through the signal flair charged up a Dragon Claw and missed him horribly. he used a illusion and I did not notice he was now behind me, before I could send Mana eyes to search for him he hit me once, and I was knocked out, I guess he had enough fun. I was left asleep on the ground.

so burst mode can remove stats as well? at least the gain in strength was higher then the loss. and I am starting to fall asleep...

I then fell asleep and woke up on the rock I normally sleep on.

"Rise and shine, you have slept a full 2 days, also you may want to come over here, I am about to let you go out and start hunting dragons" Verod said to me and I could not wait. After so long of just being kicked the hell out off I finally get to look at dragons and get revenge for last time I saw one. I walked over to him and he whispered into my ear "If you come back without killing every type of dragon I will kill you, if you come back after killing every type of dragon I will grant you the title of dragon slayer, dont worry, there is not a lot, there is the basic Dragon, the Ancient Dragon, the Divine Dragon and finally the elemental Fire Dragon. there are other types of dragon but you will not find them here. now go" Verod said while kicking me out of his cave. I landed on the ground and was in pain, he then came and stood by my side, placed a book on my chest and left.

[Sense Mana Advanced: you can now sense Mana for 10 miles, and in full 3d detail. powerful objects / people will attract your attention however there is no limit to this sight except distance and what decide to pay attention to, if something does not give off Mana you cant see it, if something destroys mana you cant see through it]

so is this to help me track down the dragons? well at least I can see clearly in storms. I then look at my Academy robe and realise it is almost fully destroyed, I wonder if I can skin a dragon and make some clothes?

I kept thinking to my self while instinctively walking towards a Mana source and came across a basic dragon. I almost laughed.

Yea this should be easy, I thought while Using Dragon Eye and marking where I am going to cut to make myself some new clothes... you know you are stronger then something when you don't see it as a threat and you see it more as a meal and clothing. I got used to cooking dragons with Verod's help and Fire Magic to make Lava hot enough to cook the meat. and making clothes cant be that hard can it?

I walked over to the Dragon and then started cutting. and 10 minuets later I am happily sat down with a meal cooking and new clothes, my clothes are brown/red colour and I have a few simple things, a hood that looks simple yet awesome, I have a thick top and trousers, and I made my self some shoes with some skin and Bone. It was nothing special but I did look like some kind of boss monster from a desert map. simple yet epic. time to begin my hunt for the 3 remaining dragons. but first, my meal is almost done.

Chapter 22 - A Cold Day

John goes on a dragon hunt however the 3 Fists Academy has a new problem, Kate's other side is kind however cold. will she be learn to control it?
