Authors note: Sup guys. Honestly i was tired today and didn't want to write anything (I mean really it's Friday!), but the positive response to the last chapter motivated me. Again thanks for your support and here's today's chapter.
Well I seem to have an idea of what this test is about. Now that all my memories and thinking ability have returned it is pretty obvious. The point was for me to gain mastery over my soul; specifically, for me to gain control over certain parts of my soul that normal humans simply couldn’t and really shouldn’t. I was clearly killed first, my soul was removed from my body forcefully and through some strange power I’ve been placed in a state where I’m an unattached soul. One who can’t interact with anything; I was probably placed in some artificial vacuum. If I think about it that’s the best way for a human to meditate on their soul and gain [soul scripts] basically an ancient technique where the user can access the deepest regions of their soul and remove seals or directly strengthen themselves. If you want to know how effective, it is just think of this example:
Human athletes become stronger through training. They preform actions that push their muscles to breaking point and force the body to rebuild them just a little bit stronger than before. But then why are lions so strong without training; why are chaeta’s born so fast? Simple, because their bodies directly ‘told’ their muscles to be that way. The human’s training is an indirect method to get stronger, whereas the lions DNA, which codes for its strength, is a direct way for it to become stronger. No need to break their muscles through training and wait for them to rebuild. The body just ‘tells’ its muscles to be big and strong.
This is the central idea behind meditation. Human beings wanted a way to simply ‘tell’ their bodies to get stronger. Same idea as muscle. Your body is full of proteins you could even supplement more but that would not convert to muscle unless you trained and forced it to. Meditation works like taking natural steroids with ‘supposedly’ no negative effects. In theory it’s the best and quickest method to becoming powerful. Most people have enough materials, spirit energy, but can’t seem to train it well enough.
Now then the test I’m doing right now should be something to give me the most powerful meditation method known. The [soul scripts] meditation. Ok next point.

Lecture time! The anatomy of the human soul. I’ll just explain the inner parts for now. There are 7 main, no, vital parts/points of the internal soul. The conscious (forehead), The outer-self (neck), true heart (heart), Heart of knowledge (right chest area, opposite to heart), Life point/ life force (bottom of the chest), mana core (around stomach), public region (Genitals).
The conscious is you, like your personality, I can’t explain it better, and the outer-self is your identifier, it’s where your memories are stored and where your [soul identifier] is, basically the souls’ ID document. The two are strongly and directly bound in fact their all-most one. That’s why I couldn’t tell them apart and activated both at once, well now my view of the soul has cleared up so I can see them better, but either way I don’t think you could have done that part separately.
Next part I need to tackle is my [true heart] the source of all my emotions. Its job is really vague but I hear it gives us humans intent. I’m assuming this will have something to do with controlling my emotions. Ok so let’s just focus on that one and get started.
*Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing* *Focusing*
FOR FUCK SAKES!!! What the fuck, I can’t fucking touch it! Is this some kind of fucking joke? Every time I try and focus on it, it fuckin shakes, SHIT! Like I can’t fucking hold onto it. Fuck passing the test at this rate I’ll never fucking even be able to start it… I would try to breath and calm down but I got no fucking body. Shit.

Simphiwe was now heading to his team’s first objective; they were to report to a military base just outside the city of Hapilake. The first team was more of a large group of people who got signed in to this planet before anyone else. They were about 13 people of the initial 10 000 strong beta group. Simphiwe sat inside a military van that took them to the site. Only 7 people were in the first car and the other 6 were in the second car following closely behind. They had all completed orientation and basic skills learning. They could return to the beginners training Centre whenever they wanted to know something related to their systems, summoning or role in the HIUPF. But they would receive proper combat training and missions related to fighting from then military. They of course had a wide variety of other Governmental departments to choose from. Media, finance, managing, Cooking even writing. They were told that they were basically privileged government employees and that their positions would increase as they worked themselves up the ladder in each department or organization.

Simphiwe: “Everything’s magic, magic cars, magic electric lines, magic water supplies. This world seems to see magic the way earth saw oil, coal and nuclear power.”
Driver: “Your right Mr. Hero sir. We have greatly developed our magic industry, we use our power efficiently and constructively in order to build a great nation. Look at the city.”
Simphiwe: “Wow… that’s just… wow”
It was day time. The sight was breath-taking; it was like fantasy took a massive leap to the future and blended perfectly with science and society. Simphiwe and the others could only stare out at the sight I wonder. There tall towers; like unbelievably tall towers that Simphiwe felt easily had over 100 floors each scattered across the horizon. Holograms littered the sky in and around the city. Advertising the most pointless things in the most spectacular way. Every now and then Simphiwe could spot large crystals with lights spreading out from them. They were of all shapes, sizes and colors. Blue was predominating though.
As they drove Simphiwe now started focusing on the car he was in; at first sight it just seemed like a normal SUV but upon closer inspection this car was truly mind-boggling. Blue and red lines spread out around the car and its interior. The driver’s seat seemed to have strange controls. While most the dash board was hologram; it felt kind of solid, and he couldn’t see where the feet pedals were. All he noticed was due to his new skill [mana sensing]. It converted mana perceived into convenient medians like sight. Simphiwe could see where he assumed to be the cars mana crystal to be, as well as how the energy flows from the crystal to the driver then into the channels or circuits. This meant that anyone could drive this car without worrying about not having enough mana. Simphiwe thought that this system was brilliant.
As they got further outside the city they noticed a fortress-like building in front of them. It was surrounded by high walls and a massive energy barrier. There was a check point just on the boarder of the outside and the inside of the barrier. Nothing much else could be seen from behind the wall. After some time at the check-point they proceeded to cross a gate into the fortress.
Simphiwe: “Holy shit…"
This place lived up to the name fortress. Its official name was [Joholian’s outpost] apparently the Hero that built it. It was built in a very classical style with grey wall and white pillars. It was a wide building. Wide enough for maybe 3 football fields and at least 10 stories tall. There was a huge engraving above the central entrance of the place. It was a huge Golden eagle with especially glowing feathers. The whole building seemed to radiate magic as if to reinforce its absolute defense. The area surround the building was massive. Another 4 buildings could have been built around this one. All over Simphiwe could see army vehicles and stuff. Training, working, running, jogging, shooting, testing. It was just overwhelming. No doubt managing this place was a nightmare.
Simphiwe: “Hmm… so this is what it feels like to be a Hero in this world. I feel like I’m being completely swallowed up. Though I can tell training here will be cool. See some arenas and monsters off in the distance. I’m guessing that will be pretty fun.” He said with a huge grin on his face.
“Plus we might get to command an army of soldiers and stuff.”
“Yeah, it’s really different from what I imagined but I can see the enjoyment in all of this. Competition will no doubt be hectic these NPC’s don’t seem like the type to just cry and ask us to save the princesses or worlds.”
Simphiwe: “Guess some strategy and tactics is also going to be pretty important here.”
“Hahaha so what we just have to think a bit more! I’m just wondering what we’re going to be fighting that they had to build such a huge compound!”
Though it was a joke the blue-skinned player made a point.
“This is going to be really interesting, I can’t imagine the amount of lore the developers have out into this game, no, maybe at this point we should just call it full blown history! This Game is massive! And this is just one mid-level world”
-They all make good points, guess I’ll have to grin a lot more than I thought- Thought Simphiwe

From the intimate narrative of a childhood that was never her own, her year spent struggling to find the person she is rather than the person her family needs her to be, the secrets she hides, and the truths she finds, Halle discovers herself on the fabled island of Providence as her House collapses around her, bids to enter a legendary school of magic in her homeland of Auctor, and fights for a crown she never knew she wanted. A high-action, character-focused story written with a poet’s styling, The Harrowbird’s Crown is a tale that will transport readers into the conflict and conquest of a royal family back on the rise. 8 132The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
