Chapter 9: Phoenix Rise Part 1
Ps: to Idyrdy, Love your Summoned Hero ! It is what actually got me thinking about this story I wanna try making real quick.
*cough* so if anyone has to blame someone for no chapter coming out tomorrow everyone blame him. And read his story it is hilariously ecchi. ^_^
Oh, guess I should mention the story I want to make is unfortunately not hilariously ecchi it actually is going to be a very dark story. So giving you a heads up. Don't ask me how I came to the idea of it reading Idyrdy's story .... it just happened.

Running to the next part following the course navigation line. I enter a forest of high trees these trees look like the heights of skyscrapers. It is a breath taking sight to behold. While stepping inside while looking around at the trees. I trip over something I quickly look down. There is a spike that I am falling towards aiming straight for my head. I quickly throw one of my hands to the side of the spike to knock me off course.
I barely ended up saving myself from another mishap. I lay there for a while as I get over the small anxiety attack that I just got from that. Cold sweat running down my back I look at what tripped me. It looks to be some kind of transparent wire. Is that some fishing line?
I stand up and start looking around me. A couple feet away is a bear trap that is not very well hidden. In another direction I get the feeling that there is a crappyily made pit trap there. Why do I say that? Because leaves look unnaturally piled over there. Like some kids trying to mess with there dad.
I guess this part of the course is supposed to work on my trap sense and maybe disarm? I was going to start and move onward, but a buzzing sound caught my attention. I drop to the ground real quick. I have read a couple manga where that buzzing sound is an indicator that either someone is going to get shot by an arrow. Or the chance it is some other trap or ability to kill you get the point.
Nothing happened though, but that buzzing noise is still there. I look up towards the sound and see a camera or I think it is. The camera looks like it has humming bird wings though. I guess Alice wanted to watch. When did she have time to make that?

I don't think that she would have made that before hand with her god abilities. Why do I say that? Because remember she was omnipotent what use does she have for a camera. She must have made it using magic or something. Haha, guess she misses being able to watch the pain of others.
Any way I ignore the camera for now and look back at the golem that is catching up. I would move from the line to go hide in this forest, but I can not. The reason being is one I don't know the direction to head. Two is the fact of traps being everywhere.
So I pay more attention to the ground in front of me concentrating on enhancing my vision through magic. Hopefully I can spot more details this way. There is a bunch of obvious traps for the first few hundreds of feet that I dodge easily.
The next though I have ended up falling prey to. I was walking forward looking at the ground when all of a sudden something flicked by my vision. Then I was bleeding from my throat I look more closely at what did it. It was some kind of piano wiring aimed perfectly at throat height.
Shit! Now I have to pay attention not only to the ground, but the sky's too. If I do that I am going to be going at a snails pace. I quickly use magic to heal myself. Already I can see that golem catching up. He hasn't fallen prey to any of the traps. I see him nimbly just jumping to the side. He seems to know where all the traps are and are able to avoid them in minimal movements.
I start darting my eyes as quickly as I can going up down and all around. Never focusing on one thing for to long. During my spars with Alice I have more or less perfected being able to process the data that this gives my brain. Now I am able to avoid the obvious ground traps and the obvious above ground sight traps. Thus I am able to move through the traps for a few more hundreds of feet. Then all the obvious ground traps seemingly disappear.
There is only the above ground traps. Yeah! I can increase my pace a bit more. That was a bad move. First step I take I hear a click under where I stepped. Hmm... ... ... This isn't what I think it is, is it? At least its not the timed ones.

Quickly scanning for anything I can use to displace my weight. There is nothing! Why because I just realized my weight is currently even more with times 3 gravity. O god! No, maybe I am overreacting. Most of these traps have been a medieval style to them. Wouldn't this be a semi modern one?
Crap thinking back the roads used to get here, the doors, and the kitchen where all modern or even advanced technology. Why wouldn't there be modern traps?
I hear the golem approaching. Turning my head yup he is almost here. 3.... 2... 1.... That bastard came in with a punch. I try my best to take it and not move, but he has weight and movement behind his punch. No matter how little it does for damage it is still enough to knock you away with force.
As I go flying a little ways back I immediately act curling myself up into a ball. Trying to protect at least my head. Another reason as to why would be to make myself a smaller target for potential shrapnel. BOOM! Yup, it was a land mine. My left leg got blown off in an instant.
Even better is the fact that I landed on another trap! This one was a well disguised pit trap. As I was falling I jab my hand into the wall to stop myself from falling. Phew just stopping myself from landing on very sharp looking obsidian spikes. Well getting to the straight to the point ..... Thank god for my enhanced strength enough to pierce my arm all the way in the dirt wall.
I start working on healing my bleeding out leg with magic. I can only heal my wounds three times before running out of magic. This will be the second in case you forgot. As I was healing my leg I peer upwards to see the dumb-ass ASSHOLE ! Looking down at me... You know ... He jumped straight into the pit last time.... just to attack me.... FUCK!!!!
As if just on cue that bastard jumps at me. Nope no way no how I make a magical shock-wave when he gets close to me to knock him away from me. It worked he lands a bit away further down in the pit. When he came into contact with one of the spikes the damn thing just broke. Not the golem, but the spike collapsed under his weight being unable to pierce him.
I know Alice said not to use magic, but fuck that I hate feeling pain or dying. I quickly reach into my pouch and shove some herbs in my mouth recovering my mana and some more of my HP. Screw it if I can't kill him at least I will incapacitate him. I climb out of the pit and use an earth type spell to create a giant rock to cover over the pit. It takes a lot of mana to do, but it works. A giant black rock covers over the pit.
Sorry Alice, but I am just not ready enough to deal with that shit just yet. I take my time this time since I don't have the constant pressure of that thing being on my ass. Looking even more closely I am starting to see the basic small very small outlines of where the traps are. Also I think I understand that the farther you go in the more advanced the traps will become. After avoiding the traps for a few more hundred feet I see that my hypothesis was right. The above ground traps are now harder to spot as well.
I continue to trudge on through the forest discovering more and more traps. Even modern ones like the trap of C4 that has a laser sensor to it. (Don't have the internet right now so can't look up proper name) Also some grenades on the ground with trip wire. Guess Alice wants to prepare me to find anything and everything. The forest is about a mile long by my guess. The traps got harder and harder to find.
I ended up having to use a majority of my herbs because of the many traps, but hey I FUCKING MADE IT! Thoroughly exhausted I trudge onward toward the next part of the course.

The Good Necromancer
Hundreds of years ago, shortly after the Great Cataclysm which destroyed the Ancient World, was the Age of Heroes. One of these great heroes started off in the most hated profession of the time, Necromancer. Join him and his comrades as they accomplish the first of the Good Necromancers legendary tasks. ***** So, quick update for those who pay attention to this section. I'm finally coming out of finals for this semester, and I plan on getting the whole already posted section revised. It's taken me a while to change the necessary things, as I had to start all the way over, but I've at least got the rough drafts for all the revised chapters. These should be going up within the next week or so, still have to go to work, but I am here, I haven't forgotten or dropped the story. Just trying to make this the best work that I can produce. P.S. I will be releasing additional stories. They are all going to be in the Good Necromancer world, however the others will give you an idea on how humans in other locations survived and have thrived. Or not. =)

Riftwalker
Legend speaks that a roaring force of insatiable abyss lies beneath the peaceful overworld. Named the Rift after its chasm-like entrances, this unexplored void has consumed the underneath for eons. What had seemed just a myth crawled out of unreality in the form of eldritch creatures. Reborn as something not entirely human, mankind rejected the boy. Thrown into the Rift by people who feared him, he had to live in a world run by monsters as a newborn. Surviving, however, wasn't his only difficulty as he soon had to decide whether he would save the people who banished him or simply idle as the Rift engulfed all life. As of chapter 9, Riftwalker is on a very small hiatus. I'm very busy with work atm :( Here are a couple of things to expect: Lots of action and exploration! Diverse and refreshing creatures; There are good and evil. Satisfying progression and coming of age. The protagonist stands out but isn't overpowered. There are some litRPG elements, but it's not a determinant factor. The fights are decided through one's combat skill and experience and not stat-checking. Oh, and some other info: There is a bit of gore, but nothing disturbing. Occasionally, there will be images of the scenery and landscape. Chapters will be around 1,5k to 2k words long, and the releases will probably be relatively slow, sorry.
