Chapter 23
War decides to come with us back to the village as he has to go back their anyway.
“So why don’t gods have names? All the gods we’ve met didn’t have a proper name.” Joe
“Any god lower rank than greater doesn’t get a name” war
“Then what about charm? Does she have a name?” jacobe
“She does but I don’t care to learn it” jack
“Interesting” selena
“Speaking of which, how’s your big sister, war?” jack
“Yeah, how is Jackline” Johanna
“She is busy, very busy. With all this crap going on with the system, as you named it” war
“Figures, the greater goddess of wisdom and death has plenty of work to do, it never ends really” jack
“She said she’ll be able to take a break in a weak” war
“Good, good” jack
“What the hell man, how many gods do you know?” jacobe
“I remember hell, top 5 vacations ever” jack
“Best hot springs ever” Johanna
“I wish I could have gone to hell instead of the abyss, you have no idea how boring that place is” Lucy
“Actually I do, I spent about a week there before I couldn’t take it anymore. I wouldn’t survive a hundred years in that place, there is nothing to do there” jack
“You sound like you’ve been to very interesting places before” sally
“we’ve been all over this world as well as several others, although you can’t spend more than a couple weeks outside of your own world without getting really sick, unless you have an item that prevents said sickness or belong to race that travels between worlds, like many undead, such as Lucy who goes to the abyss every time she dies and has to wait till someone summons her back here.” Jack

“How exactly do you travel to all these places?” selena
“It’s amazing what you can do when many of your friends and allies are gods” jack
At this they all just stare at us, except ghost who was grinning.
“Master is amazing” ghost
We continue to walk and I check out some of my racial skills. Thin presence causes me to be noticed less, torment causes any psychological or physical attack designed to cause suffering be more effective. Demonic presence is basically the opposite of thin presence; it causes everything to notice me and to instill fear. Silent step is a passive skill that makes we walk silently, which I already did. Blink is a short range teleportation skill, at my current level I can teleport anywhere I can see within 6 feet. Transparency is a passive skill that makes it impossible for an untrained eye to see details about my appearance, and makes it harder for a trained eye to do the same.
“I wonder how aunty and uncle are doing.” Johanna
“Aunty is fine, and uncle probably used the time to do an experiment with magic on the monsters.” Jack
“I’ve heard you mention aunty before but who is uncle?” selena
“Auntie’s husband, how that elf managed to woo an incubus I will never know.” Jack
“You know, I am not going to be surprised by anything say anymore” sally
We kept walking for a couple hours; we were getting close to home. When we were a block away something caught my attention in the edge of my vision, which was almost directly behind me with how high my vision stat was. Unfortunately it was already too late, a dart had hit everyone except Johanna war and I. Johanna had 2 darts, war had none, and I had more than 5 in me.

you have been poisoned by a magically enhanced sleeping poison. Its effects are tripled. Due to your resistance to poisons the effects are decreased by 80%
I got this notification 5 times, 1 for every dart. As my consciousness was drifting off I realize who could have possibly done this, there is only one person I know who can make high quality poisons like this, and that knows about my resistance to said poisons.
‘Should’ve figured this would happen’ jack

Tim the Engineer
Summoned against his will to a world of swords and magic, an engineering student struggles to find a way home under the shadow of a world devouring threat. ***************************** Updates: 5/13/19: Revisions to several chapters for clarity, grammar, and style. 4/29/19: A short side story and artwork has been added to the blog. 4/8/19: A Side Story has been updated on my new blog (every writer is required to have one). https://talesfromliahar.wordpress.com/ ***************************** “The summoning scenarios are broken down into groups of ten.” Emi Ito stated. “Don’t, don’t you dare say another word.” Muttered Genzo Uchida. His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region

After All
This is not my story. My story was of a world I forged by my raw will, and of you, my children, forged of my dreams. That story has long since ended. Our world was not alone. Another deity came from beyond my sight, and despite our resistance rent our world asunder. In the end, all was lost and you were gone. That I survived your passing is a testament to the cruelty of existence; I cannot forgive existence for the monstrous crime of making me go on without you. This is the story of a new world, forged by the hands of fools. That it is made from the bones of that which I most hated will bring this place no absolution. In the fullness of time, I will seize the reins of this new narrative, and I shall end it. You are lost to me, my children. I will make a funeral pyre of all reality for you, and be with you in oblivion after all. --- DocSumac here. This is a story that has been rattling around in my head for years. It's not complete, but I'm not going to let it haunt me anymore. I'm uploading what is ready, and I'll add more as I can. --- Addendum May 20, 2020: I've added the Sex tag. Not because of actual smut, but becuase of what will probably devolve into an ongoing parade of dick jokes. No point denying my nature.
