"I'll keep quiet," said Akira to Akiza. "Don't let anyone know that I can talk to you."
"Okay Master," said Akiza. Akiza walked towards the open gates of West Wind Academy. But, two young men in green and white robes got in her way.
"Where is your uniform?" asked a young man in green and white.
"I don't have one," Akiza replied.
"Then you must not be a member of this school, only members are allowed in," said the other young man.
"How do I become a member?" Akiza asked.
"You must pass the test," said the young man in green and white.
"I want to take the test then," said Akiza.
"Follow me," said the other young man.
The other young man had led Akiza. Akiza felt more comfortable inside than outside the place. It somehow reminded her of the forest despite the many people. Eventually, they arrived at a building. Inside was a desk, there was a young woman in green and white who was half asleep on the desk. "This child wants to take the test," said the other young man.
"Fill this out then," said the young woman. She took out a piece of paper and gave it to Akiza.
The piece of paper asked for basic information. Things like name, age, gender, residence, emergency contacts. Akiza filled out what she could and handed it back. The woman disappeared for a while, she came back with another woman in green and white, but the uniform she wore was different. She had shoulder length brown hair and a pale face. Her uniform consisted of a blouse and a skirt instead of a full robe. She was very beautiful. "Hello little girl, I'm Senior Cixi," said the woman who walked in.

"I'm Akiza," said Akiza. "I want to take the test!"
"Okay, follow me," said Cixi. "Why do you want to take the test?"
"They wouldn't let me in unless I passed," said Akiza.
"Do you even know what passing the test means?" Cixi asked.
"It means I get to look around this West Wind Academy," Akiza said.
"Yes that's true, but it also means you will be an Apprentice of this school and live here," Cixi explained.
"That's okay," said Akiza. "I have no other place to stay anyways."
Cixi made a sad face. "Something must have happened to her family," she thought.
They arrived at an open space. There was a round white stage in the center surrounded by a field of grass. "Here we are," said Cixi.
"So what do I have to do for this test?" asked Akiza.
"Your first task is to find the hidden item here," said Cixi.
"What am I looking for?" asked Akiza.
"I can't tell you," said Cixi. "You have to find it yourself."
Akiza thought about how this was possible. Find something you don't know about.
"Use your senses to detect something with Internal Energy," said Akira.
"Thank you Master!" came to Akiza's head, but she did not want to speak them out in front of another person, she had to keep the promise to Master Akira.
Akiza closed her eyes and focused. She followed the faint sense to the grasses. Inside the grass was a 1 copper coin. "Is this it?" asked Akiza.
"Yes, it is," said Cixi. "Congratulations on passing part one."
"What's next?" asked Akiza.
"Try to crack my shield," said Cixi. Cixi released a powerful pressure that Akiza could feel. In front of her, the transparent grey shell of a turtle appeared. "I won't dodge."

Akiza focused as much of her Internal Energy into her fist as possible and added fire to it. "Oh that's pretty good," said Cixi.
"I'm not done yet," said Akiza. Akiza continued channeling more power into her fist. The color of the fire turned blue.
Akiza dashed forward and added her speed to the mix as well. BOOM. A loud sound rang out as Akiza's fist came into contact with the turtle shell. A cloud of dust rose from the ground. Akiza bounced backward and landed on her bottom.
"Very good,"said Cixi. "You pass.
Akiza looked up at Cixi. The grey turtle shell was still there. At the center, a small crack.

Love, Napalm & Homicidal Fairies
When Nasilain started traveling between worlds, she hadn’t expected to get caught by a police officer. Nasilain: Traveling between worlds always filled Nasilain with dread. All those men with their friendly smiles and hundreds of questions. What was the last movie she watched? What music did she like? What country was she from? If Nasilain could use magic in this world, she would’ve blocked the flow of calcium ions in their jaw muscles just to shut them up. The scientific knowledge she could find on the internet using the free Wi-Fi in one of the local coffee shops forced her to tolerate the occasional interrogation. But even hipsters were better than Seth, the beefy police officer that caught her teleporting. Apparently, she wasn’t allowed to lie to him, which was fine as long as he didn’t ask about the clone. Seth: Seth had seen his share of bad luck. On normal days, it manifested as a shoulder injury that got him discharged from his SEAL team or wounding a civilian while on the police force. But landing in a parallel dimension with elves in neon green pants, a cute mad scientist with magical abilities, and swarms of carnivorous fairies? That was a first. At least Nasilain promised not to use her magic to split atoms. Content warning: This book DOES NOT contain zombie fairies. Everything else is fair game though.
