《Another World With The Skyrim System!》Chapter 8

“I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was-” I was singing one of my favorite songs from when I was younger until Millie interrupted me.
“Can you stop with that horrid singing! I’m trying to get some beauty sleep here!” Millie shouted annoyed.
“Yeah me too!” Farengar also shouted annoyed, until he noticed what he said and instantly shouted. “I apologize for that, my lord. That was completely uncalled for. Punish me if you so wish!” Farengar sat on his knees.
“I won’t punish you, it’s okay if you talk to me like before, just don’t forget your place and we’re okay!” I said as I smiled.
So, with last nights experimentations of my inventory, I found out that whatever I put in, adds to my current weight, so if I put a twig in. Nothing happens, but if I put a tree in, I can still walk… in pain, but the ground will shake with every step, and I’ll be extremely slow.
“So, what’re we going to do today?” I asked.
“Maybe we should expand the cave” Millie suggested.
“And how would we do that?” I replied.
“Pickaxes!” She said.
“I- Fuck! We can actually do that, good idea, Millie!” I said as I pat her head, not noticing her blushing face as I spoke to the system.
“System, weapons… Pickaxes three, now” I also figured out that I didn’t have to go through every… system… slot, if I knew exactly what I was looking for and had enough money for it.
Certainly sir, here you are. 3 golden coins have been taken out of your system “bank account”
The system said, as three pickaxes materialized into thin air, almost hitting us in the process… luckily, we dodged… I swear I heard something click its tongue.

“Okay, now… it’s time to mine!” I said as I hit the wall with the pickaxe a couple times… until Millie grabbed me and shouted.
“We don’t know what we’re doing! And you’re just fucking mining our wall! Without a single idea of what you’re doing!” Millie punched me in the leg.
“So, what do you propose we do?” I asked.
“NPC?” She said, and I facepalmed. Of course, we have enough money for a new NPC!
“System, NPC” I said, as a table appears.
Of course sir, what would you like?:
Male
Female
Random
“Random, Farengar was good… so, why not?” I said.
Yes, sir, female has been chosen, which race would you like?:
Altmer (High Elf)
Bosmer (Wood Elf)
Dunmer (Dark Elf)
Orsimer (Orc)
Nord
Redguard
Imperial
Breton
Argonian
Khajiit
Random
“Random!” I said.
Orsimer has been chosen, sir. Which class would you like this NPC to have?:
Warrior
Mage
Rogue
Merchant
Random
“Random, I want to see what I’ll get this time” I said with a smile on my face.
Certainly, sir, Warrior has been chosen. What shall their name be?
“Alisha” I said.
Of course, sir, as this is not your first NPC, 100 gold has been taken out of your system “bank account”, the next NPC will cost 200 gold. Beginning construction now.
“Thank you system” I said, as I saw the new NPC of mine, Alisha the orc being made. First her head, her chest and arms and then her legs… and she was naked, just like Farengar. I stood there in awe at her body, so did Farengar, Millie snapped us both out.
“What are you numbskulls doing!? Get her some clothes!” Millie ordered.
“Right! System, give me a pair of clothes and underwear for Alisha. Now!” I ordered.

Of course, sir, done. The money has been taken out of your system “bank account”.
“Thank you system” I said.
“Hello there, master!” Alisha said as she kneeled awkwardly.
“It’s alright Alisha, you have no need to kneel before me, just act as casually as you can. Like Farengar!” I said happily.
“Yes, master… I mean sir” Alisha said, still kneeling.
“Now… onto more important matters… do you know how to mine?” I asked.
“Of course I do sir, what true orc wouldn’t know how to mine for their ore?” Alisha has a slightly smug look on her face that vanished almost as suddenly as it appeared.
“Oh… thank god!” I said happily.
“Now, let’s get to work!” Alisha said happily as I gave her one of the three pickaxes, we naturally left Millie out of the hard work. And she guarded the cave with my pets.
After hours of mining, we made the cave as big as a mansion, several stories and all. This is actually more impressive than you’d think. Thank god we had Alisha here! Or we’d probably die due to cave-ins.
“Well, time to sleep... what are we gonna do tomorrow? I wonder…” I asked myself as I dozed off.

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
