《Rivalry I Live for》Chapter 16. My Party

Sigh… It looks like I accidently stood with the row of adventures that wanted to join the expedition… Not those that tried to be recruited. No wonder they thought that I wanted to join… At least I stocked up with a ton of health potions, mana potions and food for 1 gold!
But I don’t want to waste them… Hopefully I wont be at the frontlines or vanguard and luckily I lied about my class, hehehe...
Amount of Money leftTotal: 2 Gold, 94 Silver, 11 Copper
Some time before…
“So, you look like you're some kind of warrior?” The soldier stood at front of me and asked, as he wrote down on a notepad.
“Hah, no way. I am a heavy Magician, I usually play the role of ranged”
“Really? Is that why you have no weapon? Don’t they usually have a staff and a sword? And you have neither” He questioned me.
Heh, “Well, want me to show you?” I said, smiling.
“Follow me to the practice target over there” He said, beckoning me as I followed.
“Now prove it” He, crossed his arms with the notepad.
Hmm… I need to make it believable somehow...
Raising my hands to the air as if I took a kendo pose without a blade. I used my passive skill.
Axe, appear.
My axe appeared on my palm, quickly I threw it towards the practice target, turning it to vapor and created a new axe on my palm that was once again on the kendo pose and threw it again.
“I see, that’s a unique ability you have”
“Yeah, took me a while to obtain it”
“Okay, you are assigned to the row with the ranged group”
“Right!” I said, saluting.
Back to the real time...
Though, as I walk on the snowy path with a row of npc soldiers and players aka adventures to someplace I have no idea, since I didn’t check the paper. I could hear a few conversations behind me.
“Look at his armor, is he a warrior?”
“I don’t think so, he has no weapon equipped”
“Maybe he is a mage or some kind of rogue?”
“Well either way, he doesn’t seem to be a beginner”
“I think he is a player killer, look at that brutal black armor”
“Yeah…”
… That escalated quickly… Anyways, I wonder if I can find anyone I know nearby…

Aha… Blonde and silky hair, isn’t that Charlotte?
Running towards her, pushing the others away as I apologised, I finally caught up.
“Hey, Charlotte!” I said, patting her head.
“Huh, oh, if it isn’t the… Wait, you never told me your name…” She said confused, even though she could see it in her friendlist… I am so sad.
“I’m Tony, Tony Vancleft. Miss Charlotte”
“Hey! I am not that old!” She pouted,

Heh… A young girl… I smiled.
“Are you alone?” I asked as she walked beside me through the snow.
“Yeah… No one wants to invite me to their party” she looked at the snow and brushed it with her feet as she suddenly stood still together with me.
“Hey… You have me, don’t you?” I said, forcing her soft chin towards me.
Party Request sent to Charlotte
“Tony....”

“Anyways, lets pick up the pace, shall we?” I said, patting her small back.
“Yeah!” She said, cheered.
…
“So… What class are you?” I asked her.
“Holy assassin”
Huh, “Holy what?”
“Holy assassin, a hybrid between cleric and assassin”
“Whoa, special class then?”
“Yeah, also the reason why no one wants me...” She sulked again, as if she had made the wrong choice of picking the class.
“Huh, why?”
“I am not a master of any…”
“Lol, these newbies know nothing about hybrids”
“Huh?” She looked questioningly towards me as I walked.
“Not only are you versatile, meaning that you have an easier time to solo play, but you can combine the skills, which they probably don’t know about”
“If you were fighting a skeleton, adding holy element to your daggers would probably instantly destroy them”
“Oooh…. I didn’t know about that”
“Not only that, if your main healer is down, you can jump in as backup, they can’t” I said as my nose proudly grew.
“Ooooh, so what class are you then?”
… Sorry Charlotte-chan, never give out your vital information. “Heavy Magician”
“Ah, that explain the armour” she said, punching the chestpiece… Those red hands probably hurts..
After a while walking, we finally got out of the forest. But still we seemed to be around Winter’s Grasp… I wonder where we are heading towards to.

“Charlotte, did you read the recruitment paper?”
“Yeah, why you ask?”
I looked towards the snowy hills and said “I didn’t read it… Where are we going?”
“Hehehe” She chuckled with her soft pinkish fingers from the cold covering her glossy lips, my face started to burn… Damn I am usually the know it all, but now I am made fun of because of a mistake…
“We are heading towards the Eastern end of Winter’s Grasp to the newly discovered Cavern of Demons den.”
“Oh… Demons…” Riiight.
“By the way, which formation were you assigned to?
“The back row with the healers”
“Good, I am also at the back row. Call for help if you need me”
“Hehe” She chuckled once again.
“Are you my Holy knight?”
Heh, “For you charlotte, I am the black knight”
“Yay!” She clapped her hands happily.
A while after, we walked quietly pass the field of snow, as the nps knights at the first of the row, pushed away the snow. Someone then patted my shoulder.
“Hey, if it isn’t the executioner” A man I was familiar with said.
“Oh, Ishmar. I see that you survived the ordeal” I said, grinning as Charlotte watched us confused.
“Yeah… Ever since you owned us, I decided that it might be a good time to stop with the player killing… It never ends well” He said, carefreely with his hands on the back of his head. Walking beside me.
“Hah… Good for you, do you have a party by the way?”
“No, I actually killed most of the players here… They hate me and told on me.”
“Oh…Right”
Party Request sent to Ishmar
He smiled towards me, hand stretched out.
Heh. I shook the hand, everyone deserves a chance. My mother said that… It must be true!

“So, are your friends going to join us?” I asked, head tilted.
“Well… They died with the Yeti, they still have a long time before respawn sadly” He sulked.
“Heh, looks like we are the new trio musketeers”
“Hahaha, indeed”
“So, whos the girl?” He asked after laughing.
I grinned “My property”
“Hey!” She pouted.
“I bought her for 2 gold”
“Huh! Nooo, he is lying” She retaliated by hitting my arm.
“She accepted me as her Black Knight”
She then kicked my crotch, but her cheek turned bright red instead… HAH, that probably hurt her more than me, ahahahaha!
“Right… I am a stealth archer by the way” He said, avoiding the topic after starting it…
No wonder he could hide in the snow without being detected.... Stealth Archer huh...
“Heavy magician”
“Holy Assassin”
“...” He was quiet.
“I can get the girl… But, there is no way that you are a heavy magician Leader”
“Huh, want to taste the steel?”
He jumped and shivered “No… You are a heavy magician…”
“Hey, Ishmar right? Why are you so scared of our leader” She asked, throwing the final blow against his pride as a man.
“... He didn’t tell you?”
“Tell what?” She started to lean closer to him from my right side.
“He obliterated my three man group that had 3 level 11 player killers… As a level 1…”
“...” Her blue eyes started to glimmer towards me… I avoided eye contact.
“So cool…”
“Anyways, why did you attack me anyway?” I asked, ignoring Charlotte.
“Well, we were actually targeting someone else… You just happened to come first and with that gear as level one… Bad luck I guess? Never judge a enemy by their level...” He said, shrugging.
“Bad luck indeed”
A few hours later, we were now camping outside the Demon’s Den…
Waiting for orders, my party sat around a camping fire, as it bathed us in warmth.
“I find it hard to believe that we went this far out from Winter’s Hold for a little cavern…” I said, questioning the general that wasn’t nearby. Hopefully…
“Well, they say that demons has been kidnapping the citizens of the villages near the town, and citizens from the town itself” Ishmar said.
“Oh… So the general or the leader of the zone Winter’s Grasp want to either rescue them or remove the source of the threat”
“Yeah, but over 200 soldiers and around 150 players? It must be something big...”
“But lucky us though, all of us are at the back row safely, hehe, don’t die…” I said, patting both of their backs.
Actually, Ishmar, you are allowed to die. Not my healer though...
Suddenly a knight mounted on a horse ran around the camp and said “We are moving out in 10 minutes! Get in formations”
Heh, it’s time.
Standing up, I stretched my hand forward, waiting for my party members.
“heh…” They laughed and did the same.
“Good luck!” Everyone said happily, and we split up.
