《Hero's breaking》9. Lessons in gravity manipulation

Nothing much to say right now >_>
only enjoy and thank you for reading.
Oh, if you find any wrong grammar please tell me. (I had to proofread the next three chapters myself as the friend that normally does that is currently busy)

On my way to the training chamber I meet a lot of the other normal students. All of them are epers too, but they are pretty low leveled, no lv 4 amongst them and barely any lv 3's.
And even the ones that were here simply were of the [lowest tier] not worth mentioning.
Many of them dodge me on my way through the hallway. Pretty much from day one it was made clear that I don't want to talk to any of them.
We only met during normal classes anyways. And considering the smell of decayed meat was still very strong around me that time everyone stayed away.
I quickly get to our training room and close the first door behind me.
The whole room is made up of extremely durable steel material that can withstand almost anything. I walk through three more sets of doors quickly after one another. The instructors- or also teachers- told us that it was very important that nobody noticed us training there as it would arouse the suspicion of the normal military about why there were such strong individuals in this school.
Until now everybody only though we were a special class of six students that had a hard time controlling their powers. As such we needed more help than other students and were trained more specifically.
As the last set of doors close behind me I get rid of the vest I had put on and also my combat boots. I just want to use my borrowed power inside of the room. Nothing more.
I throw my clothes into a corner and move to the middle. There I sit down cross legged and concentrate on my surrounding as a whole.
Pretty much the whole room has been coated in steel tiles that cover the whole inside of it. It's a bit uncomfortable but one can get used to it in a short amount of time.
Normally teachers would throw objects or other things at the student and then they would have to control said things with their power.
The more practice you have the more items you would have to control at the same time.
Well, that was the training for people with physical control type power.
I don't know what people with ethereal or passive powers do. I mean there are still espers out there that can take over other human minds. That would certainly not work out to their favor if teachers started throwing shit at them.

Today though items would just hinder me during my training.
Currently I'm simply trying to control certain elements in the room.
Although my real power is quite harnessed too - though nobody knows about it - I still train a lot in gravity as it would be stupid to neglect a really powerful tool like that.
As everyone knows gravity affects literary everything and anything. Though really hard it is even possible to affect single molecules and throw them into certain patters.
I've never been able to do that. Zoe had developed that but only in theory as she had to sit completely still to control only an amount of 10 single molecules.
She had said the worst thing was to actually "find" them.
I had always been a fan of creating a black hole that I could use freely.
Honestly it was an awesome though to do this but it was also incredibly dangerous. One misstep and I would most probably destroy a huge part of the world before my body would get destroyed by it.
This technically should remove the black hole from existence and return everything to normal. It's all just a theory though.
Another thing Zoe developed was the usage of Black matter. It's really hard to explain but Zoe - and as such me too- control gravity not by actually using gravity but through creating hotspots for black matter to gather. Then we can actually attach them to certain objects, making them heavier or lighter depending on what side of the object we attached them too.
It was really hard but after a while we got used to it.
Right now I'm still trying to create a kind of body armor. I've been working on it ever since Lane pretty much defeated me in one shot with her fireball. I didn't want to have that happen again so I increased my body weight by a lot going way over what a normal person should be able to endure.
The only reason I'm not crashing through chairs and things I walk upon is because I strengthen them with my gravity beforehand by turning their point of gravity around.
Back to my armor. Since it is made up of black matter it cannot be seen and only barely be measured. But sadly it is not perfect. While it certainly can hold back an enormous amount of stray projectiles it cannot hold out for long against other power users that use some kind of ethereal power.
The armor as such is actually quite simple. Well, simple for someone that has been working on it for over a year.
By attaching various plates of dark matter to my body I can "absorb" projectiles by making the plates attract the bullets or any other object. So the objects get pulled onto the plates without actually hurting me. Through special "corrections" I've been able to nullify the normal gravitational pull on my own body. That is important in a lot of ways since I did not want to get ripped to pieces by my own creation.

Right now I could make my cells either accept the pull of gravity or not accept it depending on how I manipulate them.
I had to put a lot of effort into these plates until they would have the right form to do this. Depending on the mass of the plates I would be better secured. The only drawback was that they were getting considerably heavier by increasing the mass.
It had been another reason why I increased my own body weight.
Still sitting in the training room I'm looking over my invisible armor. I can see every inch of it around my body mostly through sensing them. It actually only looks like somebody put large scales all over my body.
But luckily nobody will ever see that, it does look horrible to be honest.
Whenever I find the time I retreat into this exact room and further harden the plates on my body.
I barely use my primary power for anything. It is too hard to control and one mistake could deform my body in a pretty bad way. I would by no means die but it would not be a very nice feeling either.
I've been sitting cross legged for around 45 minutes when I can hear the third set of doors open.
I slowly turn my upper body to face the last steel door to see who would butt into my training.
The door opens and two people walk in. It's Velvet and John.
Haaaaa I breath heavily.
"Alex? I though you would only train for an hour at most. Why are you still here?"
John asks me in a friendly tone but I've come to not trust him under any circumstances.
Like I said before it looks as if he has a crush on me but I never really trusted that.
Honestly he looks more interested in Rachel and some other girls. I would say he's more of a playboy so I never even played that role.
There have been others that came close to me and wanted to ask me out or something but all of them acted like it was love on first sight and sadly I don't care about that. I had sworn to myself that I would not get into a relationship until I had finished my revenge.
"I have only been sitting here for the past 45 minutes and I would really appreciate it if I could at least finish one cycle of one hour right now. After that you two can have the room don't worry."
I guess they're going to work on teamwork for a bit. They've always done that in the past. Not sure why they do it because I never thought that they were close friends
"Hey, don't worry about it, we'll just sit here and wait, we've got time."
smiling at me Velvet motions me to not mind them.
It's annoying but I can't really throw them out because it is our personal training room after all.
"Fine, just do whatever you want I'll go into a corner and keep going."
"Ehm. Alex we kind of want to fight with each other for a bit, are you sure you want to be in the same room where that happens?"
I look at him with bored eyes.
"You still use fighting as training? I thought it was too inefficient to be practical."
"It may be impractical but it's still load of fun and even if something happens the doc can fix us up immediately. But like really, we'll probably make a huge mess, you do realize that right?"
"yeah yeah, I know. Don't worry about me guys, I'll be protected so you at least cannot hurt me if you accidentally throw something in my direction."
With that I stand up and get into the corner I threw my clothes in. There I sit down in the same position as in the middle.
Both John and Velvet look at me dumbfounded.
"Are you SURE? I can't feel anything from the corner."
"Guys" I look at them in annoyance "There's a few ways this can end:
---First, you two leave me alone and go outside again.
---Second, you two start training and leave me in the corner to meditate trusting me that I can protect myself
---and third. I'm going to stand up and thrash the both of you"
Now I smile while tilting my head to the side.
John shrugs.
"As you say, let's start then Vel. Let's just try to not throw anything into that direction on a frequent basis."
With that being said I cover the corner I'm in with extremely thick black matter to create an invisible wall which pulls everything close to it to it.
It's a good way to avoid getting hit as everything that tries to pass through it will get pulled in by it. Meaning it will be stopped in the air at that specific point.
Then I get back to meditating and ignore the two boys training themselves in martial arts that suit their power perfectly.
