The main character of the story, Anya was born a mute human. Her parents died shortly after she was born, so she was taken in by her aunt and uncle, who abused and neglected her. When their village was suffering from a famine, her aunt and uncle left her in the woods to die. However, while wandering around in the woods, she encountered Rau, who took her to Emmeralde Verthaven, the capitol of Fairy Country.
Even though the relationship between fairies and humans was practically nonexistent at this point, Queen Kiridian took Anya in as her disciple, though they both act more like a parent and child. Queen Kiridian gave Anya the Siol Draiochta, which enabled Anya to use magic, but turned her into an elf. Anya has been studying all kinds of subjects under Queen Kiridian, including writing and etiquette. She will learn magic after learning how to write.
Anya is a sweet child who wants to know more about the world around her. She does not resent her family for how they treated her; she just does not want to suffer in their care anymore.
She formed a contract with a dragon and gave him the name "Thestian." The contract allows both of them to know what the other is thinking, and also allows Anya to use draconic magic. Because of the contract, Anya has a small purple scale on her forehead.

This story contains violence, budding romance, friendships forged in fire, and fantastical racism. I'm writing this story using the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons, the legendary tabletop roleplaying game. I first began posting this story on my personal Facebook page and on Tumblr under the username "valoroflight". I only put a few chapters in before moving to Wattpad to finish posting the full story. Unfortunately, my story has begun showing up on NovelHD without my permission, so I am moving to RoyalRoad in an attempt to get away from that.

Advent of the Mindfire Mage: A Challenger's Return Story
Updates MWF, 6PM EST! Not so long ago, a story was posted on Webnovel, one that fired my imagination unlike almost anything before or since. It was known as The Challenger's Return: Rebirth of the Rainbow Mage. However, 150 chapters in, the author NightWind, who I'd personally interacted with and begun to consider a true friend, vanished from the internet without a trace. And so, I have acted upon my fervent desire to pick up his torch, to refuse to let his world that stirred such passion in me die. Read below about my own take on The Challenger's Return. Was Lheticus summoned to the Tower by chance, or by choice? Either way, with the new power he wins, he won't hesitate to burn anyone who seeks to keep him from his true love to cinders, and with a unique ability of the highest potential, he may just succeed, but he's just as likely to burn himself down. And as it turns out, the latter case may be woven into his very destiny...can that destiny be changed? And if it is, what will be the repercussions for the Tower? (You may want to read a fair amount of the original Challenger's Return before starting this, as, particularly in the early chapters, many things that are laid out in it are glossed over in this story.)
