A week came and went since Ryu finished up his fire elemental training and began wind training. Well, more rotation training than wind training, as he began to work on the first step for the rasengan rotation. Currently he is holding a water balloon that looked ready to pop as it deformed with random bulges appearing.

The red water balloon popped covering his arms in water while he smiled behind his mask. It was a bit tricky to do as attempting to do one handed was harder. Of course he managed to pop it with two hands in about a day. The tricky part was to keep up the rotations.

“Ryu, create a clone and have it work on the wind transformation. I allowed you to slack this last week on physical work and taijutsu.” Hikari said as he wanted to cry.

Allowed me to slack? You increased the morning run around the village by two and double the weights. I am at one hundred and forty pounds in total. Ryu thought.

“Just run around the training field twenty times than work on your taijutsu. You body is nearly low chunin, which is great for your age.” Hikari said as there are still a couple months until he turns nine.

Knowing better than to argue, Ryu began to run. While she won’t physically do something, she would just increase training for the next week. If he didn’t give it his best, it was than he was dragged into his mindscape for a ‘small’ spar.

While Ryu was running laps, Hiruzen Sarutobi was wishing for retirement. Standing in front of him were the Jonin instructors for team fifteen and two. They both were asking about the upcoming Chunin exams.

“Lord Third, I would like to nominate Ryu Fumetsu for the upcoming exam. While he still currently lacking in a couple mission, I would like him to join. I think Hana Inuzuka and Izumi Uchiha should join for experience.” Sui-Feng said.

“You took them on one mission outside of the village. What makes you so sure they are ready?” Hiruzen asked.

“Their strengths if not already are are going to reach low chunin in taijutsu and body strength. Ryu expressially as he finished fire transformation from what I seen. He also shows he can handle responsibility as he is basically raising a boy for the last four years.” Sui-Feng explained.

“What about you Yuki Minazuki?” The aged Hokage turned to the other jonin.

“I would like to nominate Itachi Uchiha.” Yuki said.

Taking a smoke from his pipe, Hiruzen looked at the two of them. While he agreed that both Ryu and Itachi is ready. From Itachi mission reports and from the times he seen Ryu training. Which even some jonins don’t train as hard as he does. He is slightly worried about Hana and Izumi.

“Hmm, I will accept Itachi nomination and for Ryu I would like to see him in action before anything. So in one week we will hold sparring match between teams. Any team want or to be nominated that wishes to complete for the exam must gather there. Tell your teams to prepare as I will notify the others.” Hiruzen said as they nodded before leaving.

Why do I have a feeling things are going to get interesting in a week. The aged Hokage thought as he checked in on both Naruto and Ryu. Through the crystal ball he seen Naruto at the park playing with a few clan heirs. Ryu on the other hand was running laps around the training field only he uses.

I can’t wait to see how far you have progressed. He thought as he seen shadow clones and sighed. The sight of an eight year old using the kinjutsu was a sight but he had already seen it a couple of times. Only he doesn’t have a clue where the boy learned it.

“What the clone doing?” The Shinobi known as the professor looked closely before rocking back with a nose bleed. He just fell victim to Ryu attempting to incorporate his sexy jutsu into his taijutsu.

What a dangerous idea. The man laughed before looking towards his paperwork.

A couple hours came and went with Ryu finishing up his training for the day. Walking through the village, he found Hana walking around with her brother. Then he spotted Kakashi with the Guy who wore his green suit. It appeared they were about to have a contest. Only it was an eating on so he didn’t watch.

A few blocks away he saw Asuma attempting to flirt with a black haired girl with red eyes. From the look of it, the end result wouldn’t not be in his favor. Recognizing it as Kurenai, Ryu just shrugged it off. Until he walked a few more streets and saw Mirai and her stomach blowing up a bit.

Ah, she wasn’t slacking on training. Ryu thought as the Saratobi clan gaining a new member in the near future.

“Well, it appears drama is afoot in the Saratobi clan.” Hikari said as the man next to Mirai looked similar to Asuma.

Both of them were holding hands, so it appeared they were a couple. Now the question is who child is it? The brother or Asuma, though Ryu betting on Asuma since it should be around that time.

“Well, I don’t really see why either brother goes for her. She looks pretty average in my opinion.” Ryu said.

“I don’t either, but compared to you nearly everyone is average or below compared. It that stupid god fault.” Hikari said as she growled out the last part. He still has yet to learn why she hates the god that much.

“Well we might find out in the future, though I am going to say they won’t know or keep it hidden.” Ryu said before continue his stoll.

As he walked by the Uchiha compound he had seen a few members in trouble. A couple of citizens were raising a fuss. Being accused of unleashing the beast three years ago. Deciding to help the few members out.

“Sir, do you have proof it was the Uchiha? Remember rumors do not count and not all members have the sharingan.”

The man raising the fuss, looked ready to counter him but words seem caught in his throat. So he decided to cross his arms and go back to what he was doing. Which was yelling at the members again.

“Can you two arrest this man. He is disturbing the public order with his shouting.” Ryu finally said as the Military Police Force.

Before the man could protest, a few who were watching the man shouting cheered. It appeared they were also getting annoyed but didn’t speak. Which Ryu just sighed as they were the type to cheer for the which side was winning.

Spending the rest of the day roaming, he had seen a few of his old classmates as the Academy let out. Heading towards the park, he watched as the nearly last child leaves as Naruto waved them off.

“Naruto, let's get going,” Ryu called out turning the blonde’s sad smile into a nearly happy one.

Following him out of the park, Ryu just rubbed the blonde’s head as they headed for ramen. After seeing the familiar stand, the energy batter instantly recharged. Which earned a laugh as Naruto dragged him along.
