It was around 72 years ago; all hell break loose on earth. Human world was suddenly introduced to Monster and demonic creatures. Suddenly black portals opened in the sky all around the world and hundreds and thousands of monsters poured on earth. These portals were opened in many countries in different places. These different portals allowed many different monsters to come into this world. As it was first time that these kinds of monsters appeared in the world, the governments also didn’t know what to do in this situation. As a standard protocol they dispatched their armies to the portal locations but even strongest armies of powerful countries were trampled upon like they were bugs. All the modern weapons were useless against them. Even the use of Hydrogen and Nuclear weapons as last resorts by some countries it couldn’t do any damage to them. Although these weapons had destroyed whole cities but still, they couldn’t deal any damage to monsters. Only thing these weapons did was to wipe out any remaining survivors in those cities. But after rampaging on earth for some time they suddenly started to go back into those portals. It was as if they just came to show us their powers and to mock humans that they are nothing but bugs who they could crush at any time they wanted. After all the monsters went back to those portals, they were closed. Humans saw for the first-time what hell looked like. Almost 30% of the world population was wiped in just three days. Humans understood that they were nothing but small creatures that those monsters could destroy anytime they want. So to fight this monsters humans also stated researching new kinds of weapons but luckily after this incident some humans also started awaking some kind of powers. These humans were then called SLAYERS.

After closing of these portals, new portals also started opening it similar areas to previous portals. These portals were little bit different from before, as the monsters didn’t come out immediately after opening these portals. They came out after 10-12 hours. So instead of letting them out parties consist of 5-6 slayers were sent to explore and clear the portals. Humans also developed technology to see where next space distortion was going to happen and portals will be opened. They also made supply chain for the items that were found and dropped by dead monsters in these portals. The energy stone that those monsters dropped became new source of energy. New and effective weapons were also made to kill those monsters. These Slayers became new celebrities of the world. Countries understood the importance of these slayer and paid them huge amount of money and even gave them some kinds of immunities from law for clearing these portals. Many corporations were built to hire these slayers to clear out portals and use the items dropped or found in portals to make new weapons or technology or even medicines. These corporations had their own territories. They could only clear the portals in their own territories. The governments had to even reserve a big amount of their annual budget to Slayers Management Department. This was the beginning of the new era where only the people with power can rule the world. It was the beginning of Age of Slayers. Some slayers were able to use their mana to strengthen their bodies to fight Slayers but could not use healing or elemental magic they were called Warrior class slayers. They used different kinds of weapons with their body strength to defeat monster. Those who used elemental Magic were known as Magician class slayers. They used elements such as fire, water, earth, wind, light, darkness, lightning and ice. There was another class which was rare called Healer class. There were also ranks among the slayers. These ranks were as follows Admentinum, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Copper, Bronze and Iron. Admentinum was the highest rank. Only 12 Slayers were there in Admentinum in whole world. As this ranks were not permenant almost every slayer can increase one or maximum two ranks in lifetime after training and monster fighting experience.

Almost all the children are awakened as slayers before age of 15 years. There were some cases where Slayer awakened their powers after 15 years, but that was rare. It was like 1-2 in a million. Everyone had to attend normal schooling until age of 15 i.e. middle school at the end of which slayers ranking test is held to see the ranks of the slayers.

Present day,

[hey loser, just get hell out of my way] as Jason was on his way to school, he was pushed aside by one of his classmates. Jason was son of the Adam Stark who was the greatest Slayer of India. He was so powerful in both physical and Magical aspects that he was called the ‘DRAGON’. Jason also had little brother, he was considered as prodigies of the generations from very young age as he awakened his powers at age of only 4 years. But Jason couldn’t awaken as Slayer even in his last year of middle school. As he was powerless, he was always criticized and bullied. He was treated differently even in his own house. He had to live in servants’ quarters in his father’s mansion. All the love and facilities were given to his brother. But Jason was enduring all this in hope that one day he will be awakened and make his mom and dad proud. Even though his mother loved him she couldn’t do anything because of his father. Jason had never giving attitude so he endured all the bullying, criticism, all the hate but he never gave up. Even his brother considered him failure and was ashamed of him. But Jason still loved him. He had only one friend in school, her name was Emily, she was also friend of Nick. She was the only one who talked to Jason. Jason was happy when she was around. She was his crush after all. Jason thought of her as world as only she was there when nobody was.

Soon the year was over and the on the day of rank test,

[Man, a loser like you had lot of guts coming to the ranking test even when you are not awakened.] Some one said to Jason as he going to school auditorium.

[look at him, he didn’t have any powers and he still came to rank test.] [yeah loser like him should just die][he is just going to tarnish his father’s name.] [just disgrace to the Dragon's name]

Jason could listen all this criticism towards him but he ignored all of them as he always does and sat on seat in the auditorium.

[Alright, now that all of the aspirants are here, we are going to start the testing. As we already know there are Seven ranks i.e. Admentinum, platinum, Gold, Silver, Copper, Bronze, and Iron So After your name is called you have to come in that room where you will be tested for your ranks. As this is your first ranking test your rank will be increased after training and experience in later tests.] Announcer on stage said while pointing towards testing room.

[Without wasting much time, I am going to start calling names.] Announcer said. After that he started calling names of students. One by one students also went to testing room.

[Nick Stark] it was finally time for nick to go to the testing room. As he was already considered prodigy, his rank was expected to be S.

[He is so hot.] [you know he is one of the prodigies of this generation and on top of that he is son of the Dragon.][yeah and on other hand his brother is just loser.] [uncool]

Jason heard some girls talking. He was happy for his brother. He was also proud of him. After sometime of Nick going into room, the announcer announced.

[I am very happy to announce that as we all expected we got our first Gold rank of this year. Nick Stark, Gold rank, Magician class Slayer.]

Almost everybody already knew that Nick was going to be a Gold rank slayer. Even though Jason already knew the result, he still became happy after hearing his rank. He was considered prodigy because Silver was the highest rank that any normal slayer should get in their awakening test. The ones who got gold rank in their first test were considered as Prodigies of the generations and had the potential of becoming Admentinum Slayer. The ranks they recieved will be increased by one or maximum two after more training and experience.

After some more names it was time for Emily. Jason was even more excited to hear her rank.

[Emily Wilson, rank Silver, Magician class.]

Jason became so happy after hearing that Emily got Silver rank. Both Gold and Silver ranks were considered in different league than other ranks. Even though there was Admentinum rank, Gold and Silver were considered pretty much the highest ranks because there were only 12 Admentinum Slayers in the world. and the highter the rank, the higher the money and respect.

[Jason Stark]..it was finally Jason's time.

Jason got up and started going towards the stage.

[loser] [he is really going towards the room] [he should’ve just stayed home instead disgracing his brother's name who just got Gold rank].

Jason ignored them and looked at Nick, but he smirked rudely as if Jason was nothing. This was the usual treatment for Jason so he just went into the room. It was wide room with all white interior. Jason just had to put his hands on the crystal sphere kept in the room and the screen that is connected to the sphere will show the rank and class of Slayer. Jason went ahead and put his hands on the sphere hoping that he will get at least Iron rank but nothing happened.

He didn't get any rank at all.

The examiner looked at Jason and nodded his head.

[No rank] Examiner told the announcer.

[Jason Stark, No rank] Announcer announced the result.

After hearing that everybody started laughing.

[I told you didn’t I, that loser didn’t even get a rank] [yeah but I thought he would at least be able to get Iron rank but I guess he really is loser] everybody started laughing.

Jason couldn’t accept this.

[no, please let me just try again, please!]

[listen, boy I don’t have that kind of time, there are still many students left so just get the fuck out of here] and the examiner and told the guard their to throw him out.

Jason was still trying to grasp the situation. He felt that his heart could explode any moment. But he was thrown outside. He felt like he lost all his energy and hopes. He felt like their laughs were piercing through his ears. After sometime the ranking test was over. Everybody started leaving for their home.

As Jason was also going home he was suddenly pushed. He was pushed so hard that he fell down.

[you retard! have you finally realized that you are just pathetic trash.] the one who pushed Jason was Evan Ward, the boy who was leader of the group that constantly bullied him.

[ha ha aha] suddenly he could hear laughs from all of his surroundings. When he got up he saw students have gathered to see him get beaten up.

He tried to break through them but he was pushed back by the crowd.

[where are you going??, the fun had just began.] one of Evan’s lackeys punched Jason’s face.

[urgh..] Jason was thrown as he was powerless and even a low rank slayer is way more powerful than a normal person.

But he still got up and tried to escape, again he couldn’t and he was pushed by the crowd.

[looks like I am gonna need to teach you a lesson.] And then he was kicked in the stomach. That hit was so strong the he coughed some blood.

[huh! Talk about weak he just spilled blood in just one normal kick]

After that kick Jason almost fainted by the pain. He saw Nick but instead of coming to save him Nick just looked at him like he was just a trash and went towards his car. After seeing that Jason’s pain was doubled. He saw his own brother left him to get beaten up. But he still somehow got up.

[looks like you need some more thrashing] after saying that they started beating Jason. In all that commotion Jason saw Emily in that crowd and he felt relieved. He thought that Emily will save him, but instead of saving him Jason saw her laughing after seeing Jason in this miserable condition.

[why??] only question he could ask in that pathetic state.

[why you ask? Obviously because you are the son of DRAGON, I just thought I could exploit money out of you.. but now that I am A rank slayer, I don’t need pathetic powerless trash like you. You really thought I wanted to be friends with a loser like you, you delusions asshole.] Emily who was just standing their laughed again. After hearing that Jason felt so betrayed. He thought his world started collapsing. After the shock of her betrayal he could not even feel the beating of the bullies.

After sometime he was passed out.
