Chapter 2: Village of survivors
10 years later, somewhere in a mountain rage.
A giant mountain range was covering the land for thousands of miles seemingly endless. In the middle of this mountain range there is one mountain throwing above the others. Although it is surrounded by tall mountains, every one of them at least few thousands meters high, they just shrink when compared to this mountain that gives the word giant a new dimension. The foot of the mountain overgrown with ancient looking trees was already a thousand miles wide and its top crowned above the other mountains as if it was a mountain of god worshiped by the smaller mountains.
In a valley on the foot of the mountain there was a small village only existing out of a few dozens of houses and a few nearby fields.
You could see villagers clad in linen clothes carrying tools or food around and working in the fields growing unknown vegetables and a strange looking corps.
Everything was harmonious and no one would believe you if you were to tell someone that this mountain rage was only 10 years old and most of the old looking more than 50 meter high trees were even younger.
The whole mountain rage was made by a fight of two supreme demon cultivators 10 years ago.
Apparently they were loving the same girl and then fought for her.
Inside that harmonious village were living humans that managed to get away, out of the cities and hid in the forests. They survived the after-effects of the fight and then in that mountain range they adjusted themselves to a life in the forest living from what they grew on their fields.
„Ari please help me make a lunch“
The young girl that was called by her mother stopped playing with her younger brother and stood up to help her mother.

The small kitchen they had in their shack had only barely enough place to have two people fit in while making something to eat.
There were strange colored vegetables and weird looking bread, colored in a dark red. All the ingredients were also giving of a faint light and had a very rich aroma so that the kitchen was filled with many different aromatic scents.
Ari did what her mother told her to do and started chopping the vegetables into thin pieces.
When she was done, she took the minced vegetables and roasted them in a pan using oil.
Quarter an hour later she sat at the table together with the rest of her family.
Her father was a middle aged man with brown hair and a very peaceful character.
Her mother was 10 years younger than her father, had wonderful blond hair and always showed a loving smile to her daughter.
And her brother that was 5 years younger than her and had the same blond hair as his mother.
She herself was a 13 years old girl with long brown hair and lively green eyes.
Her father quickly recited a Christian prayer and they started eating the dishes on the table.
The Christian Religion survived the sudden arrival of the demon and almost all remaining humans believed in it.
Ari thought about some events that happened the last day, as she ate a piece of the vegetables she roasted together with some meat.
Yesterday she wanted to try climbing the giant mountain in the east. The people in the village called it God of Mountains.
After some hours of hiking she got to a point where she had to climb a steep wall.
She started to climb carefully and even made it to a height of 20 meters, as she lost her hold on the cliff and started falling downwards.

Just as she thought she would be dead for sure, she suddenly felt someone gripping her.
When she opened her eyes she saw a beautiful girl about 16 years old. With long green hair swirling around her and amber colored deep eyes.
Ari's first thought was this must be a goddess.
The beautiful girl continued falling down while holding Ari in her arms.
No, she wasn't falling, she was floating down at a steady pace. She landed and let Ari stand up.
„Are you stupid to climb up that wall even though you are only a mere human? If I hadn't been here you would have died a dumb and useless death! Are you not treasuring your short live and decided to end it before the time had come? “
The goddess like maiden shouted at Ari and made wild gestures into the air.
„I-i just wanted to look if there is really a goddess on the top of the mountain“
In her confusion she shouted back at the maiden. The next moment she understood that she was not dead, even though she fell from a height of 20 meters and a trace of fear could be seen in her eyes. And she backed off a few steps.
„Y-you are a d-demon! “
The beautiful demon stayed silent but when she saw that the girls was almost falling down the cliff behind her she quickly said.
„Yes I'm a demon, but fear not I'm not preying on humans. SO PLEASE STAND STILL SINCE THERE IS A CLIFF BEHIND YOU!!!! “
Cautious Ari looked behind her and saw that she was really almost at the edge of the cliff and only a step parted her from a long fall with her death as result.
„Just calm down and come into my direction. I promise I won't do any strange things ok? “
The beautiful Demon consoled her.
„O-ok I will come to you but please don't eat me, ok? “
Slowly she started moving away from the cliff towards the demon.
„I have already told you I'm not eating humans unlike that barbaric scum that came into this world first. Come here already. “
Ari calmed herself down and strode to the demon.
„You are from the village at the foot of the mountain right? “
„You know about....“
Ari was shocked and feared for her village.
The demon read her face.
„As I said twice already I'm not eating humans and I knew about the village since it was founded. So your fear is unnecessary. Oh I'm probably also the one you thought to be the goddess of the mountain.
Sooo.... I guess you've got enough of this mountain. I shall take you down the mountain, ok? “
The demon just wanted to lay her hands around her waist to carry her again as Ari frightened and slipped.
The next moment Ari found herself in the air.
„Uh-h“
She fainted.

The MC is a clear example of this, especially as she is poly. Because of this, I gave the story my own Poly Tag. This won't be anything like a Harem story and it is being written by someone who is polyamorous (me). There is also going to be several LGBT themes throughout which can't be represented through Tags. Ardent Tears is now on Top Web Fiction. If you like the story, I'd appreciate it if you give me a boost by following this link and pressing boost.
