《Jonny the Fool. :Part of the Legendary Interviews》15. Jonny thinks he made the right call.

Jonny's mind raced he reached for his phone pulling up his app, thinking of making a program of walls to surround the town. Then birds to swarm it and find all the 'mold' or just blast the whole place with lasers.
'But putting a wall up around a whole town...' Jonny thought. 'that's nearly impossible normally let alone in a way to stop a plague.' Then there was the fact that he could be killing anyone left alive in the town.
'This is just to big for me.' Jonny thought feeling cold. 'i can't know what to do, i'm a bingo host not a fucking doctor.'
Jonny shut off the spell app, before bringing up his phone for real. He already had his finger on the button for Drew before he remembered the other guy he was to call instead.
He hesitated, he wanted to call Drew anyway, Drew mite tell him he was doing the right thing. Even if Jonny felt like a coward, but at the same time the world was at stake.
He called the Nathan guy.
"Jonny?" the calm cold voice asked. "Are you reporting about the town we sent you to?"
"...Yeah, Its a lot worse then I think anyone thought." Jonny said then explained what was going on.
"...I see." Nathan said quietly for some reason Jonny thought the guy sounded angry. "That is worse then we thought... I'll get the right people on it. I'v got something else for you in the mean time."
There was something about the way he said "right" as if he was trying to insult Jonny.
"I still want to see this through, there must be something I can do... I mean I got a quest and everything so that means I cant be useless right?" Jonny asked feeling that he was sounding whiny.
"...I'll send you instructions, and a new element for that program of yours." Nathan said then hung up before Jonny could ask how he knew about it.
'...Drew must have told him.' Jonny thought putting away the phone.
In the time it took for Jonny to get up and get a drink form out of the fridge a message was sent to his phone.
It had a map of the town and the area around it, along with a premade program that would make a pillar. The pillar could be set to grow walls using Jonny's own power solidifying any elements it came across so that not even light could pass through once set.
The pillars where slightly curved so that the walls would grow up and under forming a sphere around the town.
'oh...' Jonny thought. 'so I was on to something...'
Jonny looked over the new element that was sent over. It said it was a purification element extracted form testing Luke's attack power to see if it could be made more useful.
This purification attack proved able to kill infections, diseases, mold, and rot. No ill effects seen from the patients except in the case of cancer where the tumors sudden absence needed a healing to stop the internal bleeding.
This same mana is found in cleaners like bleach, hand sanitizer, and vinegar but in mixed amounts. Looking it up in the books is was found that it is a mild form of death mana.
Jonny found that hard to believe, death mana that only seamed to work on things harmful to people. That implied that there would be things like a life mana that only helped diseases and things harmful to people grow. Or even one that hurt everything but what was good for ...well anything not human.

Bringing it up to add to his attack rings he saw it was a dark green.
Adding it to the set of elements he then pulled up the pillar seeing how it worked finding it both simple and easy to alter if he wanted.
It would make a useful tool for later, he started adjusting it so that it would even be able to make smaller forms just room sized or building sized. Then turned it so that it not only build walls but then it filled the center with another mana or even the same solidification power.
'I could use this instead of mana stones.' Jonny thought. Seeing the ways he could set it up in open air then urn that air into other types of mana if needed. 'Hell i'll be able to use it to extract different mana from objects.'
"Why did you let me sleep so long?" The soft smooth voice came from behind Jonny making him jump.
'when did she get here?' He thought and turned to see Jason looking at him and had a moment of confusion before just stating the facts telling Jason about the town and the plan.
Jason looked like his head ache was coming back. "Ok, so the thing that gave me this head ache was a magic god damned jellyfish? And the plan is we set up the pillars and just wait for Luke to come in and nuke the place?"
"Yeah sounds about right."
"Well i'm not fucken with no jellyfish anymore. So you best have a plan to get around them."
"Well I found out a way to ignore their lights completely if that helps."
"Yeah mite do." Jason said getting out some pain killers.
"Hey let me try something." Jonny said using the new purification beam blasting Jason with it before he had time to act.
"What the hell boy!" Jason yelled throwing the bottle of pills at Jonny hitting him in the face the pills popping out of the bottle as he flinched grabbing his face.
"FUCK man" Jonny muttered. "WHY?"
"You just start blasting me with some sort of fucken laser man what did you think would happen?" Jason called back.
"I was trying to fix your head ache!" Jonny declared.
"WHO THE FUCK IS THAT?" Jason asked pointing behind Jonny.
Confused Jonny thought it was some sort of childish trick. "What are you even doing right now? Going to hit me when my back is turned?"
Jonny felt a hand smack him on the back of his head and nearly donkey kicked whoever it was behind him.
"WHAT THE FUCK?" He cried turning to see a tall man who looked like a knock off matrix character laughing hard.
"Sorry couldn't resist." he said "I'm Jerry, I live here in town... And I see your both magic as well. That will make things easier."
Jason and Jonny exchanged a look.
"Look Ray saw you with the fish so he sent me to come talk to you, didn't expect you to have magic." He said "Until we saw the birds flying around then thought you mite have gotten a quest to help?"
"Yeah..." Jonny said "something like that."
"Good..." Jerry said looking between them. "By the way do you know a guy named Zane?"
Jonny was half searching his mind for the name and half wondering if he should move out of the way for Jason to kick his ass.
"NO." Jonny finally said. "I don't think so."

"What did he look like?" Jason asked
"Oh... well when I knew him he was a short, hairy, chunky guy. With a huge scar pretty much covering half his head." Jerry moved his hand over the right side of his face then all the way back. "Looked like it exploded and he got better?"
"That doesn't ring a bell." Jason said.
"Yeah he said he would look different next time, so that's why I should remember his name." Jerry said then seeing the slightly confused looks added "Honestly it seamed like he didn't get the looks upgrade the fist time around, I don't think anyone would chose to look like that."
Jonny blinked. 'Sounds like what happened with me. I didn't even know you could change looks until the others woke up.'
"Still... no?" Jason said glancing at Jonny seemingly thinking the same thing.
"He told Ray his power was 'movement?'" Jerry tried for one last straw. He saw them shake there heads he shrugged "Worth a try, I think Ray was holding out hope that he would come help. I mean he did get us out of that other world, even saved Tony from a jail over there."
Jonny shot Jason a look and both seamed to think, we need to watch out for that guy.
"Right... We'll keep an eye out for him." Jonny said. "sounds like a useful guy."
"Yeah, we're guessing his main job is getting people out of worlds not fixing the things on this one." Jerry said. "So what about you guys?"
"Well..." Jonny said wondering how much he should tell this guy, this was his first time talking to a stranger who wasn't also working for Drew. "I did get a quest and I do have a plan."
"Oh, good." Jerry seamed much more relived then Jonny thought he would. "I mean we'v been working on it but honestly it was like shoveling shit out a still running sewer. So I hope your plan is better."
"Well..." Jonny told Jerry the plan Jerry seamed half amazed half confused.
"Holy hell, you can do that?" Jerry shook his head and Jonny noticed Jerry's hands were clenched in anger.
"Yeah... we think so." Jonny said.
"Damn... well the wall would help out that's not a question. Ray could get rid of the jellyfish and send out more suckers." Jerry said, then saw the look's on there faces. "You know those fish that clean the tank with the sucker mouths? He made a batch of them and sent them out to eat the mold shit. He can only make so many fish, but we thought it was worth it to keep others from getting in and infected."
"Yeah sounds like you where doing the best you could." Jason said.
"Yeah..." Jerry said giving Jason a long look that Jonny would even call a leer, a look he saw some give the waitresses just before they started harassing them.
"SO, you can help me get those pillars set up?" Jonny said forcefully.
Jerry glanced at Jonny then at Jason then back to Jonny before letting out a big grin. "Yeah, I don't just wear this cus it looks good." He said patting his clothing. "Its magic as fuck. It lets me fly and I should be able to take one of you safely."
"...That should be me then." Jonny said reluctantly "It's my power and i'v got the most time with the app."
Jerry looked disappointed. "Ok... so how many do you need to set up?"
"Just 4 and i'v got a map." Jonny said Pulling up his phone and adjusting it to show Jerry.
"Huh... That is a thing." He said seemingly more interested in the screen then the map. "You got a satellite view instead of map view? Things look a lot different up in the air."
"Hang.... on" Jonny said and adjusted it so that it was overlaid from satellite maps.
"Cool" Jerry said "I'v got to make a call, let Ray know the good news."
"...Right." Jason said pulling out his own phone. "I'll call my guys."
"Good." Jerry said heading out side the bus as he made a call, and Jason gave Jonny a dirty look. "You didn't lock the door?"
"Hey there was a lot going on, I thought we were the only ones around for miles." Jonny said defensively.
Jason shook his head then looked surprised and a little pleased. "Hey my head ache is gone."
"YOUR WELCOME!" Jonny cried waving his arms in the air before glancing out the door at the strange man on his phone.
Jonny pulled up his own screens setting up short cuts for the pillars so that he would just need to tell them to activate.
Jerry shut off his phone then turned back to the RV seeing Jonny half watching him he waved a hand. "Mite as well come out, Ray said he wanted to meet you before we got anything set up."
"Do we have time for that?" Jonny asked.
"Dude I fly really really fast." Jerry said "I'm saving you a day of walking around, at least."
Jonny frowned at that, thinking for a moment he pulled up his screens again. "Give me a minute."
"Ok." Jerry said with a shrug.
Jonny took that Pillar program and adjusted it changing it to go down and that the "wall" would have more of a jelly texture and stop when it hit something solid.
It should be enough that it would slow down Jonny to a safe speed as he fell, just in case this man was planning on lifting up Jonny and dropping him from the sky.
That is if he could fly at all.
Jonny made a small amount of the jelly out of the air and tested it with his hand, making it just a little thicker he thought it would work.
"OK, I'm ready." Jonny said
"Cool." Jerry lifted his hand in a come here gesture. "Got to get a good grip."
"Right..." Jonny said not liking this already but stepping out.
Jerry stepped behind Jonny grabbing him under the shoulders much to close to him.
"Look." Jerry said noticing his discomfort. "This is about safety so if you got a better way do it."
"....OK!" Jonny said then stepped away and solidified the air around himself making something like a big bucket, he made the handle out of water so that Jerry would be able to see it.
Jerry nodded a little impressed. "What is your power?"
"Elemental solidification." Jonny said off handedly "But The first world I went to is a collage, just a place to learn magic."
"Fuck... You taking applications?" Jerry said.
"...Yeah I think we could work something out." Jonny said.
Jerry grinned floating up into the air a little before moving forward to grab the handle of the bucket, lifting up and flying Jonny over the Jellyfish and into the heart of the town.
"So you and the hottie back there, you a got a thing going?" Jerry asked as soon as they started into the air.
"What? No." Jonny said wondering why this guy immediately jumped to him being gay just for taking a trip in an RV with another guy.
"Cool, so you wouldn't mind if I gave it a shot?" Jerry asked hopefully.
"Go for it." Jonny said not 100% sure that Jason wasn't gay and knew he would let the guy down gently.
"Nice." Jerry said seaming happy.
The Jellyfish seamed to know to ignore them as they flew over Jonny noticed that they were only scattered along the main street and in the ways in and out of the town.
They seamed to be going to a high school witch was clearly the biggest building in the small town. Sucker fish drifted around the place latching on to things seemingly at random.
"New batch incoming." Jerry said
Jonny saw it, a School buss packed with people pulled in passed the fish and after a moment it was swarmed the windows had been left open so the fish got in easily.
The buss didn't slow down at all as it drove up to the door before stopping to let the fish finish off there feast.
The door opened and a ball of fire drifted out, people mesmerized by the flame followed out of the bus.
Half of them were ragged to the point of indecency, clothing torn or melted off. Some of the people were completely nude, but not one of them seamed to care.
"The fish eat the mold shit." Jerry repeated above Jonny. "And sometimes there clothes are to far gone. So Tonny keeps them under until they can get them dressed, and looked at."
Jonny looked down at the fish this time using his mana vision seeing that the fish were made of purification mana, along with a shell of life mana to give them shape and movement.
"Wow..." Jonny said.
"Yeah, we don't have enough room in the high school for the whole town, so we were getting worried that soon people would be getting re-infected. So it'll be good to see that your not all talk." Jerry said drifting down to the back of the school.
"me to" Jonny muttered as they landed next to a very tired looking old guy who was drinking from a large thermos.
"Your late, your shift is coming up." The old guy said before blinking at Jonny. "This the guy who said he could save us?"
"Yeah." Jerry said.
"I just need to go and set up 4 spots in the town and then you can let the jellyfish wall drop." Jonny said trying to look earnest and helpful.
"Right." Ray said sipping his coffee. "Prove it, let me see some thin that makes me think you can fix this whole town."
Jonny tried not to smile this was a hard time for this man and seaming happy while he was suffering would turn him against jonny.
"Allright, I'll need Jerry's help. Shouldn't take long." Jonny said making another bucket.
"No." the old man said. "Show me something now then you can go flying."
"I... OK." Jonny said then pulling up his ring of elements then started mixing water and air to make a mist. He let the fog flow out before forming it into a large chair. "Go on." Jonny said trying to hide his smugness.
Ray glared at Jonny then glanced at Jerry who jumped up and landed heavily on the large chair. "Oh... this is not what I thought this would feel like."
"What do you mean?" Jonny asked.
"I was half expecting it to feel wet and like a water bed." Jerry said.
"Allright, get up." Ray said and after Jerry floated out of it sat down with a long sigh. "How long will this last?"
"I spent points on it lasting forever." Jonny said.
Ray nodded blinking slowly, his head nearly lolling a little. "OK. Jerry hurry up, i'm barley hanging in here."
"right." Jerry said stanching up Jonny and flying him to place the pillars.
"Is that guy alright?" Jonny asked.
"Yeah he dosn't get much sleep." Jerry said. "If he sleeps to long the fish disappear and i'm not as good as he is at making them."
"What?" Jonny asked but Jerry just narrowed his eyes picking up speed. "Show me the first drop off point."
"...Right." Jonny said bringing up the map.
They made there way setting up the curved pillars that went both below and above the ground.
Feeling like he needed to make a real effort, Jonny set up 3 at each point. Changing them a little so that they fit inside one another for 3 total walls of protection.
Who ever originally made it included a remote activation so that it wasn't until all 4 were placed that Jonny activated it the air.
They watched as a ripple spread out like a shock wave from an explosion in slow motion, the air just growing a shade darker for just a moment as it moved along.
"Go lower!" Jonny yelled as the top of the wall started to move to them.
Jerry didn't seam like he could really see it but dropped down a few feet as the dome took shape over head.
"So..." Jerry asked. "How are we going to let other people in or out?"
"We got a portal in the RV." Jonny said.
"What? That's cool." Jerry said then after a moment. "You mean the one outside of town?"
"FUCK!"
Jerry let out a laugh. "I'm just fucking with you."
Jonny just shook his head, as Jerry landed them back at the high school. "You can make a smaller one right?"
"Yeah."
"GOOD, do the high school now."
"Was planning on it." Jonny said already bringing up the smaller pillars he had made.
It was a good thing too, as soon as Jonny hit activate on the smaller walls, (this time with there tops shut off so he could fly in and out) the fish vanished like lights being put out.
