《YOLO?》Chapter 25

Day 190 continued
It was finally Ran's turn.
Ran was up against a fairly pretty gladiator female. She was about 5"4, short auburn hair, and was using a sword.
Ran used a sword also and went up to her.
The bell rang for the fight to begin. The female gladiator attacked first. She swung at Ran with her sword. Ran dodged and kicked her legs trying to trip her. The gladiator jumped up. While she was in the air Ran swung her sword at her. The gladiator blocked her blow but fell to the ground.
Ran put her sword on the gladiators neck and the gladiator yielded.
It was my turn next. I chose the spear.. obviously. I was up against a tall man that looked thin but if you looked closely it was actually lean muscle. So I assumed he was very quick.
I attacked first. I stabbed at his chest but he parried with his knife. He came in close to me before I could bring back my spear and I was pushed to the ground with a knife on my neck. I lost. Like a faggot.
I was sent to my trainer. He was a black man, about 5"10 and had huge muscles (like every fucking person here) and was carrying a spear.
"Hmm so your the newbie eh? I'm Durgen. First let me see you spar."-Durgen
I was up against the same guy again... sigh .... wtf....
I lost again... But it wasn't as bad as when the guy was using his knife. I was actually able to fight him for about 5 minutes give or take this time.
Durgen came up to me.
"Hmm... I think you will do better with a different weapon. Follow me."-Durgen
He takes me to the area with all sorts of weapons. He picks up a spear looking weapon.

"This is a glaive It's a bit different from a spear. It is more for slashing."-Durgen
He handed me my new weapon. It was about 5 feet in length. I felt a lot more comfortable with this weapon. I don't know why. (Glaive-I chose this weapon because it is from the manga Kingdom. you guys should read it, go to mangapark or something)
Durgen quickly took me to the training area where the dummies were and had me attack at the dummies. He corrected my stance and what I was doing wrong when swinging the glaive.
I was covered with sweat by the time he was done with me. He complimented me that I have good balance.
'Hhehehehe of course. I was fighting on a ship before I came here.'
It was time for dinner. I found Ran surrounded by a throng of female gladiators. They were all fussing around her talking about how cute she was.
Ran saw me and quickly Ran up to me and hugged me in fear.
The female gladiators looked at me with killing intent pouring out of their bodies. I shuddered in fear.
"hehe...... Sh-She's scared of new people and sh-she's really sh-shy."-Me
The females seemed to calm down and ran over to me and tried to console Ran saying how she shouldn't be scared of them.
I got a nice look at their cleavage. It was difficult not to get an erection.
We got our food and sat at a table. The female gladiators surrounded us and I could barely eat my food.
It was time to go to sleep. It seems that there are different sleeping quarters for the men and women.
Ran would not let go of me insisting that she sleeps with me.
The females attempted to get her off of me but failed. They all looked at me with hatred.

Eventually I was able to convince Ran that we had to sleep separately. I chose the female that Ran be in her spar. Her name was Tea. She looked absolutely ecstatic as she carried the crying Ran away from my arms.
'I'm sorry Ran.'
Day 191
All we do is train, train, train and train even more.
Day 220
About a month has passed and it is time for all of the newbies debut fight.
I got better at using the glaive if I do say so myself.
Today is going to be a battle between the newbies against the veterans. 30 vs 30
The fight ends when there are only 20 left alive.

But one day, their simple and uneventful life is changed forever when a fragment of their being is summoned to another world. Taking over the body of a young girl, they assimilated her memories and name. Charlie discovered that this new world is completely different from the bottomless abyss she called home. This classic fantasy world is full of colors, sights and sounds that she had never encountered before. Setting out to explore this foreign land, Charlie enjoys sightseeing, good music, and savoring delectable human dishes. She isn't picky with her food, since any severed body part would do. Trigger/Content Warning: The full course features excessive and gratuitous violence with a side dish of gore. The appetizer showcases body horror, and dessert exhibits disturbing scenes. The first chapter is an anomalous steak served extra bloody.

A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…

The Mortal Acts
The Mortal Acts is an epic progression fantasy with a lower focus on training aspects and a great focus on discovering new ways of using powers intelligently. I've always been drawn to stories where characters use their powers creatively to overcome opponents and obstacles, and I think all the possibilities can provide a great playground for twists and turns. It's inspired by a variety of media, including Will Wight's Cradle, Hunter x Hunter, and Bioshock, so if you like the creative power use elements from those, come check it out. This is my first serial, and please feel free to leave comments and feedback. For backstory, behind-the-scenes, and other fun stuff, come chat on my discord! Become a patron to read up to 20 chapters ahead here! Blurb: Riven Morell cuts short his regular life at school and home when his mother falls terminally ill. Desperate to find a cure, he travels to Severance Frontier, a desolate land haunted by hordes of ghosts, witches, and demons collectively called the Deathless. But a miraculous cure doesn’t magically fall into his hands. Things are worse in Severance Frontier than Riven had assumed. Ghosts are banding together into armies, demons are kidnapping anyone who strays out of settlements, and witches are enslaving everyone left and right. Riven, of course, gets embroiled in the mess. Missions to curb the Deathless activity are one thing, but when it starts to look like this is just the beginning of a war that extends beyond the mortal realm, Riven has a hard time focusing on why he came to Severance Frontier in the first place. His mother is inching towards death with every passing day, but if he doesn’t face down the Deathless, what little civilization the Frontier holds will be overrun and destroyed. Thankfully, it looked like the Deathless might just hold the secret of the elusive cure.
