Chapter 43- Soul Merger
Engil was horrified by the scene he witnessed. Tyor, Sarah, and he all barely escaped the blast radius of the magic Roen casted. If they hadn't received Roen's message to get away as fast as possible they all might've been burned to a crisp.
"I, I'm glad Roen's on our side." Engil stuttered out loud and turned to look at the faces of his companions hoping to share his feelings. Sarah had the same 'don't bother me' face she always wore and Tyor couldn't care less about Engil's comments.
"Sometimes I just wanna be loved guys... Ah but is Roen ok? He doesn't look too good right now." Engil was used to their silence and decided to switch the topic.
"Oh that's right. Master had forgotten to tell you the true purpose of this entire ordeal, but the fact that his entire plan went almost perfectly is one of the most terrifying aspects of master." Like magic Tyor instantly opened his mouth as soon as Engil mentioned Roen.
"What do you mean?"
"Do you really believe Roen would go out of the way to plan for a couple of months just to kill that dragon?"
"Doesn't Roen hate the Nightmare races with a passion? He's just extremely meticulous right? Doesn't that answer that?"
"Both are true, but the real reason Roen went through all this work is because of that weapon in his hand." Tyor gave a wry smile at Engil, who was just now understanding Roen's motives.
------------------------------------------
Meanwhile above the giant hole in the continent two figures floated in the air. Sometimes one of them would drop a few feet suddenly and struggle to get back to staring into each other's eyes. Each had an intense feeling of wanting to rip the other apart in their fight for survival.
Roen was breathing hard while blood flowed from wounds all over his body his purple greaves were faintly shining and barely kept him afloat. Several of his bones were protruding from his body and he seemed to have trouble holding up the golden glaive. The only thing that was still fine was the two giant doors Roen had summoned earlier and the ground underneath it.
The Draconis wasn't fairing any better as it was having trouble keeping itself steady above the giant chasm below it. Scorch marks plastered it's once majestic scales, it had lost four of it's wings and blood was kept pouring out of the gashes that cut deep into it's flesh. Despite all this it still struggled to stay alive.
"What?! My grand spell didn't kill it?! More importantly how are you still alive boy?!" The glaive was screaming while Roen held a wry smile on his face. The glaive believed that Roen couldn't survive the recoil of it's grand spell, so with Roen still breathing it was greatly shocked.
"Do you really believe I would voluntarily kill myself?" Roen answered with another question and continued,"However right now I have no hope of defeating the Draconis, so quickly tell me your name before it recovers!"

"No matter what you say I will not tell you my name!"
"Let me put it this way, you are a dwarven weapon and that is a Nightmare race. You need not worry about any other details only that you need to kill it." Roen spoke slowly afraid the intelligent glaive would miss anything.
"I still won't budg..."
"I remember hearing that the Draconis race was dying out, they need anything with a conscious to act as a foundation for their youth. They found that using the consciousness of weapons, especially dwarven ones, are the perfect nutrition for the little ones." Roen cut the the glaive off and gave some unsettling pieces of information. The glaive went silent and stayed that way for a good minute or two. The decision to make Roen it's master was a hard one, and it would rather let Roen die then submit.
However the situation wasn't the appropriate place to take a long time to think over things. It knew this fact because the Draconis had already started to heal itself ever so slowly. If what Roen had said was true then if it recovered, both of them would undoubtedly die!
The huge formation that had consumed the ether in the air was destroyed by the previous spell. Both of their lives rested on whether or not the glaive would trust in Roen and accept him as it's master.
"Quickly we don't have much time!!" Roen shout at the glaive in his hands with a tense expression.
"Alright fine, I will accept you, but you must bring us out of this alive," the glaive spoke with great loss as the situation forced him down this path and after Roen nodded it continued, "My mighty name was bestowed upon me by the three dwarven masters who gave their lives to forge me for their vengeance: Fury's Lightning."
As the glaive spoke its true name a sense of a fullness filled Roen and he felt something invading his injured soul. The invader had an incomparably sharp feeling to it as it pushed its way into Roen's soul. This was the soul of the glaive in Roen's hand.
"You have a weird soul, it's like a conglomerate of many different souls. Geez I guess I can't be too picky anymore, anyways quickly merge our two souls!" The glaive spoke urgently while Roen had already closed his eyes and examined the new soul that was trying to merge with his. It was a bright gold entity shaped like a lightning bolt that seemed blurry at times and clear at others; it refused to settle on a specific shape preferring a orderly chaotic shape.
A smile couldn't help but to diffuse onto Roen's face. He willed his soul to to swallow the glaive's soul and when the two came in contact a stinging pain ran throughout his body like every single cell in his body was getting shocked with the energy of a lightning bolt.

"Idiot why are you so hasty!" The glaive panicked at Roen's sudden actions, but when it was trying to pull back its soul and forcibly stop the merger it realized that its soul was stuck inside Roen's! It was surprised at the weird occurrence that would normally be impossible. Normally one would not be able to control souls that still have their consciousness present!
The glaive stopped its efforts and let Roen go through this trial. And Roen went through a drastic change as a line of gold dyed a portion of his originally white hair and his red eyes now had circle of gold surrounding each of his pupils. His body started to emit the black and gold lightning that was further increased around the glaive. He felt his soul repairing itself with the glaive's presence, but he didn't directly consume it more like they both supported and healed each other in a symbiotic relationship.
"Perfect, I have finally healed around 30 percent of my soul! Now how shall you like to die!" Roen glared at the Draconis with an extremely warm and beautiful smile. The Draconis witnessed Roen's whole transformation and was greatly astonished. It realized that it would die today considering Roen was the first to recover, but it held no anger towards him.
"AH HOW REFRESHING IT WAS TO FINALLY FIGHT ONCE AGAIN! LET ME ASK OF YOU ONE THING BEFORE YOU DISPATCH ME. WOULD YOU PLEASE SPREAD WORD TO MY KIN AND TELL THEM IM SORRY I COULD NOT SEE THEM AGAIN?" The Draconis spoke solemnly and gave heartfelt words despite it's threatening size and appearance. However when Roen heard these words his facial features contorted, instead of loosening up.
"You dare ask me for such a thing?! Do you not know how much blood is split in reverence of you so called 'Godly Races'?!! Do you not know how many families you kill just to further your own goals!??! And laugh as you watch their corpses burn! You pests brand your sacrifices and turn them into mindless monsters!! Do you even begin to understand the pain that those sacrifices go through??!" Roen grew angrier with every word and the gold and black lightning that discharged out of him grew fiercer and fiercer. It started to emit a faint purple light, but Roen had no time to pay attention to that since all his time was paid to his anger.
"I am definitely not the one to preach to you about this! However I kill to further my purpose, and that purpose is to eradicate every last Nightmare race!! Even death will not stop my vengeance!" Roen strode towards the startled Draconis with lightning crackling in every step. The Draconis had not expected Roen's hatred to be so deep and wondered what could've possibly happened to this boy.
"THE KALIARS ISN'T IT?" Suddenly a name came to mind of a once powerful Nighmare race.
"What about them?" Roen was obviously pausing at the mention of the name.
"IF IT QUELLS YOUR ANGER I WANT YOU TO KNOW THEY EXIST NO LONGER FOR SOME REASON THEY ALL WERE KILLED OFF MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO!" The Draconis spoke righteously and wanted to help Roen get rid of his anger even in his dying breath.
"I know, I was that one who eradicated those pests." Roen spoke no further and lightning flashed striking the Draconis right on the crown of its head. When the light subsided Roen stood on top of it's skull with the glaive piercing into it.
"Strike."
BOOM!
A bolt of golden lightning struck the handle of the glaive and transferred the powerful might of heaven into the body of the Draconis. The lightning cracked open its skull instantly and shocked it's organs, killing it. Roen's robes greedily went in through the cracks of the skull wanting to begin it's feast.
"Strike."
BOOM!
The scene repeated itself, but other than Roen's robes being unfazed by the lightning the giant body only shook again. The wounds all over it's body began to leak traces of blow up organs.
"Strike."
BOOM!
"Strike."
BOOM!
"Strike."
BOOM!
"Strike."
BOOM!
"Stri..."
"Stop!" The glaive's voice interrupted Roen and forcibly stopped the channeling of the spell.
"Why do you stop me?" Roen said calmly, but his tone was one of intense rage. His eyes were out of focus and it felt like he wasn't completely there.
"Isn't it already dead? Why do you keep on wasting your time?"
"Damnit I went into a trance again! Ahhh that's never good, thanks for your help anyways." Roen's eyes refocused and he grew angry at himself. He turned to the direction Engil, Tyor, and Sarah were waiting at and slowly made his way over.
"What about those dangerous robes of yours?" The glaive wondered because Roen did not wait for his white robes to finish eating the body of the Draconis and just left.
"It'll take awhile for that guy to fully devour that much, so in the mean time let's meet my other servants!" Roen had already gotten over the entire battle and wanted to rest. He picked up his pace and even happily skipped towards the meeting place.
However the glaive remember Roen's earlier words about him going into a trance.
'I won't think too much on the subject, but when he went into that state even I felt a little enraged. Is it because our souls are merged now? Or could he really be using 'madness script'?' The glaive resolved itself to throughly question Roen whenever it got the chance.

Distant Leaps to Circinus
A dark fantasy story that takes place on a reborn Earth. "With all the planets in the universe, it just had to be this one." Not many thoughts came to mind when scientists said they could provide the Earth with nearly infinite power. Humans could only think about the future, after all: they could travel to the farthest reaches of space, never worry about their electric bills again, and give rise to new and innovative technologies. With such good outcomes on the horizon, there was no way humanity would sit idle; instead, they studied perhaps the most powerful entity in the entire Milky Way. It seemed that, after its appearance decades ago, the strange and unmoving black sphere was something of a godsend. There will always be a reason for these things. With one touch, our very reality was but a grain of sand in an hourglass. In an instant, the Earth was gone - replaced by something… different. More than a century later, Earth’s remains have reformed into a completely different beast - a planet both alive and dead at the same time. Physics that were once understood no longer made sense, giant land masses floated in the sky, and billions of people fought for their very survival. Work, sleep, and play were no more; it was time for the world, Circinus, to reign. The birth of Circinus could only be the beginning. The powerful yet ever-elusive black sphere seemed to watch the world from afar - casting light for those below, but never truly emitting light from itself. What does it all mean for the children of Circinus - children born with eyes that seemed to stare into God’s heart?
8 263Era Of The Kobold
Era of the Kobold Returning July Third! Hi there! Thought I forgot about this series, didn't you? In all seriousness, I am sorry for not posting in such a long time. I've been really busy with other things, mainly my education. However, once July hits and I get the time needed to write, I'll be continuing EotK where we left off. It'll be the regular one chapter a week at least, though I'll try to post more frequently for that month. Hopefully you all have been doing well! I'll see you in July. Synopsis: All he wanted was to spend his life gaming. Samuel was an absolute nerd when it came to video games, RPGs especially. He'd play them all day, rarely leaving his house, or even his room for that matter. His peaceful days were sadly ended before he even finished college, however. Despite his expectations, he finds himself reincarnated in a new world as a Kobold. He must now live a hard life as a weak creature that tends to die young and is seen as a monster. How will he manage in this new life and what will he do with it? The rate of publishing will slow down, as I focus on my education.
