Haiyang woke up after going unconscious from the fall. He looks around at the cave he fell in. The cave was pretty square with a four meter height and five by five meter space. He sees a “corridor” pathway that is too square to be natural. The pathway was about four meters in height and in length. With his surroundings clear he inspects his body for any injuries. He sees none but looks up and to his surprise is the hole he fell in. Now the hole being there wasn’t the surprising part but the fact that it was 8 meters deep.

‘Wow,’ Haiyang thinks to himself. He knows he shouldn’t be alive let alone uninjured. He inspects himself again to find that there is no injury nor is there any pain. He doesn’t even try to think of how this is possible but just worries about the getting out.

Now the only way out from this cave was that one pathway. So without much of a choice Haiyang starts making is way through the pathway. He notices that the walls have a slight purplish tint to them. He ignore them till the start getting stronger the deeper in the cave he gets.

He continued to walk down the insanely long pathway what felt like an hour. At this point the purplish tint started turning into a solid white. It got brighter and brighter till he reached a corner. The white tint turned into a light with its origin right around the corner.

Haiyang rounded the corner and saw something that made his fox jaw drop. There was a glob of white that was releasing the white light. Haiyang couldn’t tell what the glob was all he was that it was shifting between corporeal and illusionary. Haiyang walked a little bit towards the glob but stopped after seeing it shift around a bit.

“Welcome Haiyang,” said a silvery, disembodied voice.

“Whoa,” yelled Haiyang before running back behind the corner.

“Come back I want to help you.”

After calming his fright Haiyang slowly walking back in front of the glob of white.

“Let me help you child,” came the voice again.

“H…how do you know my name?” Haiyang stuttered to get out.

“I’m just a person that knows many things. Your name just happens to one of them.”

“How can you help me and why do you want to help me,” asked Haiyang? He couldn’t wrap his head around how the glob knew his name or even what this glob was.

“I can change your fate.”

“How can you change my fate,” inquired Haiyang? He couldn’t understand what the voice meant by ‘Change his fate.’

“I can give you a way to gain power, and even give you a way to turn human again if you get strong enough,” said voice just this time it had an unnoticeable anxiousness to it.

“There’s a way for my to be human again,” Haiyang asked ignoring how the voice knew it was human?

“Yes, of course there is a way. In this world many things are possible,” the voice yelled with joy!

Haiyang couldn’t think of anything better than being able to become human again. Actually that was all he could think of after finding out he lived in a world of cultivation. He could barely contain his excitement.

“For you become human again, you must do something though.”

This put a damper on Haiyang’s mood as he knew it wouldn’t be free. He only hoped that it wasn’t an impossible task.

“You must learn my cultivation technique, train hard, and inherit all of the things I will give you.”

“Of course, I’ll train as hard as I can,” Haiyang said without a hint of hesitation. Haiyang thought it would be something much different, but cultivation was something he was more than willing to do.

“Okay I agree to learn your cultivation technique. Just tell me how and I’ll work hard to get strong,” said Haiyang excited.

“Good. Before I pass you all my...memories I must say one thing first. You must first start with the body refinement technique. Without that you will not be able to get far in this art. Do you understand?”

“YES,” shouted Haiyang without hesitation!

“Before I pass you these memories I will say I have locked certain things and you can only access them by getting stronger. These things serve you no use except for burden,” the voice said noticeably gentler. The glob reached out a tentacle of light towards Haiyang.

“Wait, may I know esteemed senior’s name,” Haiyang asked while the tentacle of light was centimeters away from his forehead.

“You will know when you get stronger,” said the voice has it touched Haiyang’s forehead.

When the tentacle made contact it felt like his head was splitting apart. He let out an ear splitting screech that tore his throat. He then succumbed to the pain and passed out.

Haiyang awoke on the surface next to the hole that he fell down. He thought everything that happened was just a dream so he pushed it to the back of his head. He focused on trying to find his way back home. He saw a potential landmark and started walking.

After who knows how long Haiyang made his way back home with only a few cuts and bruises. The sun was close to setting by the time Haiyang took the chance to look at the sky. He was surprised that he was gone for so long as they left before noon.

He walked up to the opening of the den to see if anyone was there. And there was, his mother, and two sisters.

“Mother why is no one back,” Haiyang asked after walking up to her and startling her?

“The were looking for you after you disappeared for quite a few hours,” his mother yelled with slight worry and slight bits of anger.

“They’re out looking for you but they should be back soon. I’m just glad you’re back,” his mother said dotingly.

An hour or two rolled by before the four foxes came back to the den with their heads hung low, and crestfallen faces.

“Lianhua we searched everywhere but couldn’t find himmmmm,” his father says just spotted Haiyang in the corner staring at him. The two just locked eyes and stared. Soon also his brothers were staring at him.

“When did you get back here! We spent hours looking for you! Smallest portion of meat for you tonight,” his father yelled being the first to break the silence!

“Sorry i was chased by a demonic beast and feel into a hole. I was unconscious for a while so I just got back an hour or two ago,” Haiyang grumbled.

“Don’t care. You still get the smallest portion for falling into a hole and not catching anything.”

“Fine,” Haiyang sighed.he wasn’t upset as he knew his father didn’t mean it. He also only got a little less than his brothers.

What Haiyang didn’t know was that his first hunt would be a pushing factor that changed his life forever.
