Chapter 23| Twins
Everyone was left in a daze, they had thought that the big man was the guild master, but here they were bowing to this person calling them the guild master. The person most shocked though was none other than Sen, he quickly shouted out.
"Ryyla what are you doing here?"
"Hmm, do you know my sister?"
Sen couldn't make heads or tails of the situation clearly this woman looks exactly like Ryyla and this woman said " do you know my sister" but Ryyla never once mentioned a sister. She never even once mentioned family in all the time that Sen knew her. Sen was left in a daze, his mind couldn't process the fact that there were two women that were this beautiful in the world. He quickly tossed those thoughts aside.
As Sen stood there slack jawed staring at this woman that looked exactly like Ryyla. The woman casually walked over between Sen and the huge man. She then silently held the man's fist and a violet-blue light formed in her palm.
She placed her hand upon the man and quickly popping and crunching noises could be heard, his hand immediately healed. Sen couldn't help but notice this woman uses the same elements as Ryyla. After the man's hand was healed the woman casually spoke up.
"Now, what is all of this about?"
The big man quickly gave a retelling of the events that had just happened and the woman just simply nodded, afterward she signaled the big man to do something and he quickly disappeared into another room. Sen regaining his composure finally said something.
"So you are Ryyla's sister."
"Before we speak about personal things, first we should go someplace a bit more private to discuss, don't you think?"
Sen gave a small nod.
"Wait little Sen are you sure you'll be fine with her. I can't feel what rank she's currently at, but she clearly stopped you earlier. she may even be stronger than you ."
"Thomas relax, any obstacle that comes my way I will suppress it, you need not worry for me ."
Sen reassured Thomas and this Ryyla look alike ushered Sen to follow her to another room. Sen nodded and then walked behind her, but before they left Thomas shouted out once more.
"WAIT, Sen!"
Sen turned back to the lobby and Thomas approached him, he then pulled on Sen's hand and placed 2 gold coins in his hand.
"Thomas what are you doing?"
"Sen you saved my life and you saved the convoy, but more importantly, you saved my little Claire. Without you I don't even want to think of the outcome. This may not be a lot to you, but this is a token of my gratitude, to my hero ."
"Thomas I don't think I can accept this. This is yours you earned it how can I take from a friend?"
Sen tried to give it back and Thomas simply shook his head no.
"No, I offer this to you I will not take it back. Come on Sen I just gave a pretty good speech there save me some face."
*sigh*
Sen didn't really need or want money, but he felt happy from Thomas's jester so he gladly took the money and placed it in his pocket. As he was about to turn to leave one of the night-watch ran up to him and slapped 2 more coins in his hand as well.

"Sen me too, I won't forget what you did for me."
The man then gave a slight bow and walked away, after that all the others walked up to Sen and gave him 2 gold as well. They too thanked him and gave similar bows and even the greedy ones who were repeatedly counting their 10 gold over and over they as well gave Sen some gold. All in all Sen received 42 gold from everyone. And for the first time Sen felt a tinge of fulfillment he couldn't help but smile at everyone.
"Everyone, your gratitude means a lot to me and I'm glad that you all think I deserve it, thank you."
As Sen turned and left to the other room, Thomas said one last thing before he too left with Claire.
"I will never forget your name for as long as I live thank you Sen, thank you."
As Sen followed this supposed sister of Ryyla's the two came to a small room. The woman opened the door and the two walked in. It was almost completely empty, the only thing in this stone covered room was one torch on the wall and a weird Rune the size of the little room itself carved out into the floor.
"What is this Rune?"
The woman glanced sideways at Sen before she answered.
"You don't know, I thought you were an acquaintance of my sisters."
"I am, but I still don't know what this room is. I've never seen a Rune like that before what does it do?"
"I'll show you, stand in the middle with me."
Sen walked to the center and the woman did as well. She then knelt down and place a palm on the Rune, she quietly chanted for almost a minute before the Rune started to glow a bright green. As it did a marble shaped black dot formed in the center and streams of silver energy could be seen condensing around it. Sen seeing this couldn't help but blurt out.
"Dimensional magic."
"Oh, so you do know."
The entire room began to vibrate, Sen could feel it in his chest reverberating before a bright white light overtook his vision. Momentarily he was left sightless and when the light faded Sen was in another room. He fell to a knee gasping for breath, this portal felt as though it shook up his insides. He felt dizzy and he thought he was going to puke, but he managed to suppress his urge to vomit. He looked ashen in the face like he had just seen a ghost.
"What the hell was that?"
The woman looked at Sen confused, she too looked a little pale, but she was nowhere near in rough a shape as Sen was.
"You said so your yourself, it was dimensional magic. I thought you knew Ryyla."
"I do, but her travel is nowhere near as rough as this. It felt like my insides were being torn apart."
The woman looked a bit upset by Sen's comments and she went silent. After a moment, she walked out of the room into a long hallway and into another room. Sen regaining his composure quickly followed her. When he entered the next room he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.
The room he found himself in was just an office, he couldn't help but think it was a waste to use dimensional travel just to get to an office. He shut the door behind him and the woman was already seated behind a large wooden desk that looked as though it had seen better days. The top was covered in stacks of paper and the legs of the desk were a bit wobbly as if someone had repeatedly kicked them out of spite.

"Please have a seat."
Sen quickly sat down and looked around for a moment, he noticed a small portrait hanging upon the wall. On it was an older male along with 2 little girls who looked identical to each other, all three were smiling.
"So this is you and Ryyla when you were young and this is your father."
Right after Sen had said " father", he couldn't help but notice a slight twitch on the woman's face, clearly this was a bit of a rough subject. Sen quickly tried to change topics to something more interesting.
"Ahem, anyway why does your portal feel like I'm dying after I used it?"
She looked at Sen as though he were clueless, so she decided to inform him. Her face relaxed a bit and she spoke calmly.
"That's just how all dimension magic works. You see when the magic is activated that's exactly what it does, it tears your body apart on the smallest level. It then covers you in a container of light mana essence.
Then it shoots you to your target location as fast as light and when it reforms you a portal opens at your destination and puts you together like a puzzle, putting you back together piece by piece. so it's only natural that it hurts."
"But then how come Ryyla's portals don't hurt at all, every time I use it I don't feel anything in the slightest."
The woman's face turned sour and she mumbled.
"That little brat so she's perfected it huh, dammit all."
"So your portal magic isn't as good as hers ?"
"What, I'm the one who got her started on portals how dare she make better portals than me. Tell me something kid, do you know when she perfected them?"
Sen shook his head no.
"I don't know how long, but the first time I used one it didn't hurt at all and that was 10 years ago."
"What, 10 years she's had it at that level, 10 years ago, damn her. She's never liked to share not even when we were little."
"How come you don't know? don't the two of you talk to each other?"
"Talk with her yeah right, every time we talk we always argue about something stupid. I haven't spoken to her in almost a two century's."
"Holy crap that's long, well I guess a century for you two is only like a month or two compared to the way humans perceive time."
After that the two were both silent for a minute before a knock at the door was heard.
*Knock knock*
"Who is it?"
"It's Sam may I come in."
"Yeah go ahead."
As the person entered Sen noticed it was the big man from before, he was carrying a tray of tea. The two both made eye contact and the man couldn't help but yell out.
"Lyyla-sama you have me bringing tea to this imp."
"Imp huh, have you already forgotten the death you nearly received. If you do not stop annoying me I will finish what I started."
Sen glared fiercely at the man who dwarfed him in size, but the man quickly gulped and looked away breaking eye contact.
"That's enough you two, whatever differences you had will not exist in my place and if either of you persist."
Lyyla's pressure suddenly increases dramatically, it quickly encompassed the whole room making the big man take a step back and Sen grit his teeth.
"Then I'll have to take matters into my own hands do you understand?"
Sen gave a small nod while Sam kowtowed.
"Yes, Lyyla-sama, forgive me please forgive me ."
"Enough."
Lyyla soon released her pressure, visual sweat was pouring from Sam's forehead while Sen simply lets out a sigh of relief.
"Now SAM serve some tea to our guest, uh, I'm sorry, in all of this confusion I didn't even get your name."
"The names Sen and you?"
"Such impudence to call master by "you"."
"SAM!! shut up, sorry about that, Sam is, well, he's Sam. It's nice to meet you Sen my name is Lyyla welcome to my place."
As the two greeted each other Sam served Sen some tea while giving him the nastiest look. Sam then walked over and served Lyyla some as well.
"Thank you, Sam, you may leave."
As Sam went to leave, he accidently turned and stumped his toe on the leg of the desk nearly tripping himself in the process. This scene caused Sen to chuckle lightly making Sam want to strangle him, but Sam repressed it and quickly left the room slamming the door behind him. As Sen sipped at the tea he couldn't help but be elated by the fragrance it emitted, like some time of wildflower. He finally set the cup down after drinking nearly half.
"So you and Ryyla are twins ."
"Yes we are and how do you know my sister?"
"Well, she's my teacher ."
"Pffffff."
Lyyla couldn't help but burst out loud with laughter nearly choking on her drink.
"Her a teacher hahaha hilarious you got me, you got me, no seriously how do you really know her?"
Sen looked at her momentarily waiting until she finished laughing before he finally spoke up.
"As I said, she is my teacher and I do not appreciate it when someone makes fun of her."
Lyyla looked at Sen and could tell that he was serious, she was immediately flabbergasted.
"I'm sorry I just never thought that she was capable of teaching I shouldn't have laughed, but you know her personality. how did you ever learn from her if you don't mind me asking?"
"It's really quite simple, I set some rules and she followed them."
"What, how did you get her to do that, the moment you look away from her every single rule would have been broken, what trick did you use?"
Lyyla couldn't help but feel guarded if Sen was capable of taming Ryyla who knows what else he's truly capable of.
"We made a contract."
Lyyla looked at Sen like he was lying.
"Really a contract, you do know that Ryyla invented blood contracts and she can break them with ease."
"Not a blood contract but a soul contract instead."
Lyyla was left stunned, the fact that he got her to do a soul contract to teach him, he must have brainwashed her or something.
"So she did all this just for you and what did you offer her in return that could satisfy her ."
"Simple I offered her myself."
"What!!"
Lyyla almost spits out her tea.
"You are going to marry her?"
"I didn't say that."
"Huh, then she just wants your body I didn't know sis was into little boys how creepy ."
"What!"
"Nothing, nothing ."
Lylla's POV
"What the hell's wrong with my sister, she would dare lay her hand on a child ."
"Whatever you're thinking I doubt it correct, she merely wished to study me."
Lyyla was left confused.
"Study you what for?"
Sen pondered what to say and what not to.
"Well, you see my soul is different to others, with my man core I'm suited to be both a mage and a warrior."
"What! you're suited for both that's impossible I've never heard of such a thing, how can you be sure of something like that ?"
"Ryyla checked me herself you should know she's not the type to make mistakes especially when it comes to the soul."
Lyyla nodded to this statement she could only think of one time Ryyla actually made a mistake. By now Lyyla's curiosity was piqued she couldn't help but ask.
"So what did she teach you anyway?"
After another sip of tea, Sen sets it down and calmly states.
"Everything."
