The One Moon Chapter 23

They went back to their seats. Some people saw Moonhan’s face and knew he teared up. Unexpectedly, someone grabbed hold of Han’s hand before he went up the stairs. It was a young contestant named Jeon Taehyun.

“Um, you worked hard and I could see that you did well!” He said, barely getting out the last sentence. Moonhan looked at him for a while. Looked at his name tag.

“Thanks… I saw your performance too Taehyun, you worked hard too.”

Taehyun was the same age as Moonhan and got into D level.

Taehyun was in a trio group and performed a hip hop song by Icon as the main vocal.

Moonhan walked up to where his members were after the meeting and Taehyun’s members started to tease him.

When he sat down, Siwoo who was next to him asked what happened. The two had talked on the bottom floor while the members were already walking up to their seats and couldn’t hear their conversation.

“Oh, just got complimented on, haha”

Siwoo and the other members smiled. Moonhan looked better after the meeting and was glad he met a nice person.

When the performances were over, the host announced the first contest theme was “Dreams” and they had to perform a Kpop song with their group matching the theme of dreams.

Moonhan had a hard time with dreams and often had them but didn’t really want to talk about them. “Is this theme going to be okay for me?” he thought

“This first contest is limited to one week and will be performed here.”

“Good luck, there will be coaches to help you in training but the concept will be all your own idea.” Dismissed.”

The contestants bowed to say goodbye. Then the contestants gathered within groups to introduce each other or talk about their upcoming performance. Moonhan was still sitting down. Most of the members had old friends on the show and were talking with them. Siwoo who was usually quiet reunited with one of his old friends from middle school and talked a lot with him.

It’s not that Moonhan was feeling lonely, it was a feeling he was used to. He excused himself and went to use the restroom.

“Sigh…” He sat on the toilet and was overthinking things. He was breaking himself down. He wished it was easier for him to talk to the other members and groups. But, it was hard for him. He closed his eyes, clutched his chest, sobbing quietly, feeling his heart hurt. After the situation with F level and his worries, he couldn’t take it and broke down quietly in the stall.

A door opened. Moonhan quickly tried to calm himself down and wiped his tears.

A voice was heard.

“Hey Moonhan, you’re in here right? Sorry, I saw you coming down earlier and was wondering why you were taking so long…”

Moonhan didn’t know the voice.

“I see, may I ask who you are?” Moonhan asked still sounding like he just cried.

“Right, I’m Nakamura Minato. I’m from the group called J boys. I’m a trainee from Japan. I can understand Korean well though, I was adopted by a Korean family.”

Moonhan felt a connection, he was an orphan like him.

“Oh… Are they treating you well” still in the restroom stall.

“Yeah, I’m happy with them.”

Moonhan was relieved but also a little sad because his connection was distanced off a little.

“You know, I’m an orphan too.”

“Really? That’s great! Well, not great, it’s just I’m glad we have something in common.”

“Hearing that, I actually have a question, can I ask?”

“Hmmm. sure.” Moonhan Said.

“Do you happen to be Han Moonhan from Namu Sky Orphanage?”

“...” Moonhan hasn’t heard that name in a long time.
