《Envy》Chapter 11: I'm waiting for you.

“W-what!?” Elven leader said confused.
“Brother, can’t you sense her energy?” The woman replied.
“I can’t.” He frowned
“Exactly! But if take a closer you’ll be able to see that she is not emitting any magical energy instead she is actually slowly absorbing mana from the surroundings.” She explained.
The elf guy swept his gaze across me, scanning me from tip to toe. His face showed a strange expression before he suddenly bowed.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know who you were, please forgive me my short-sightedness.” He begged.
What the hell is going on?!
“I never intended to offend you o great spirit” He continued his plead.
“Uhm… Please raise your head…” I said confused.
First demon now spirit, seriously what’s wrong with me!?
Elf’s sister could barely contain her laugh after noticing her brother’s and mine reaction.
“Brother stop making fool out of yourself, she is not a spirit. If she was one she wouldn’t have had a physical body” She said and then waved at the two guards who disappeared immediately after.
“Then what is she?” He asked.
“She is a Primordial Demon.” The elf girl replied.
After hearing his sister response he looked at her with disbelief.
“Primordial Demon? But that’s impossible! They isolated themselves from the rest of the world.” Said the man.
“I know it’s hard to believe, but no matter how you look at it she is a textbook example of a Primordial Demon. Even human would see a Primordial Demon in her.” She argued.
Well that’s true, but why do they hate humans so much?
Because they were arguing on what exactly am I, I started wondering on what is the purpose of the bracelet they wanted me to put on. Was it just a marking of a prisoner or was it used for other purposes.
“...our language...”
Hal could you analyze this bracelet?
“Analysing… Surface analysis complete.” Hal replied.
This time instead of message box popping up in my field of vision, various symbols and connections between them started floating around the bracelet.
“...as well...”
Because Hal knowledge I could understand these symbols even though they’d be meaningless for a normal human. Bracelet was built to quickly disperse any energy or “mana” as the elves called it, that a wearer might be emitting.

“Recommended action: Assimilate object for further analysis.” Hal suggested.
Assimilate it then.
This time instead of being surrounded by a silver mist, the bracelet just sank into my arm. I guess it was assimilated this way, because my arm was no longer organic.
“Unknown Alloy detected! Analysing molecular structure… Analysis complete. Showing results.” Said Hal
It seems that the bracelet required a deeper analysis for a message box to appear.
Bracelet
Material: Unnamed Alloy
Durability: Exceptional
Properties: Exceptionally light and durable
Weight: 1.6oz
Unnamed Alloy?
“...bracelet...”
After hearing my thoughts Hal showed me another message box.
Unnamed Alloy
Composition:
Unknown Element - 56%
Iron - 21%
Gold - 11%
Coal - 4%
Copper - 3%
Sulphur - 2%
Zinc - 2%
Other - 1%
Durability: Exceptional
Weight:
4320 kg/m^3
Properties:
High conductivity.
Exceptionally light and durable.
What is this “Unknown Element”?
“Analysis results are inconclusive. Further analysis required. A message box will appear after analysis is done.” Hal replied.
I was absorbed in conversation with Hal, so much that I didn’t notice that the elven siblings have already stopped arguing and the woman was pointing out her brother that he was wrong.
“Haha. I was right.” She exclaimed
“Yeah, yeah. This time you were right, so what’s the big deal about this?” Answered her brother.
“Right about what?” I asked.
My question was followed by a sudden silence. They were finally reminded that I was standing there and they were arguing right before me.
I guess that they were absorbed in their conversation even more than me and Hal.
“About you being a Void Primordial Demon.” He answered a little bit flustered and then added: “I actually did not believe my sister until you used a void magic under the effects of Suppressing Bracelet.”
Aaand back to being Primordial Demon. Ehhh… I guess I’ll play along.
“I hope you don’t mind my brother for dragging you all the way here.” She said.
“No, I don’t mind him. I’m actually glad that I was able to see such a beautiful town.” I replied honestly.
“How did you know I was a Primordial Demon?” I asked, so I could avoid being mistook for one in the future.

“Well, actually there are only 3 races that are capable of absorbing mana from the air. They are Spirits, Dragons and Primordial Demons, but only Void Primordial Demons are capable of using magic under the effects of a magic suppression and you’ve just destroyed a suppression bracelet with magic. That was the final hint.” She explained.
I wonder who Ember and Ivor truly were. They also deduced that I was a Primordial Demon, but I wasn’t absorbing mana back then. They must’ve had another method of checking that. And what kind of beings are these Primordial Demons?
I felt a bit guilty after destroying their bracelet, so I thought that if Hal can deconstruct an object maybe he can also reverse the process and recreate it.
Hal can you recreate bracelet?
“Replicating Unnamed Alloy is not possible until analysis is complete, however item recreation from stored Unnamed Alloy is possible.” Hal answered.
Wait are you saying that you can replicate anything you’ve assimilated and absorbed?
“That is correct.” Hal replied.
That’s great! Hal recreate the bracelet.
“Recreation will fully drain reserves of Unnamed Alloy rendering further analysis impossible. Do you wish to proceed?” Said Hal.
Yes.
“Reconstructing...” Said Hal
On my right palm a whirlpool of silver mist appeared, it soon condensed into a familiar bracelet
“Construction complete.” Said Hal
“I didn’t destroy your bracelet, I just stored it. Here take it back.” I apologized honestly and handed the bracelet over.
“Don’t worry about it. We have lots of these. One less or more will not make a difference.” Said elf leader after receiving it.
“We are already talking for about half an hour and we still haven't introduced ourselves. I’m Vilea and this is my brother Erthor.” Said elven woman.
“Nice to meet you, I’m...” I tried to reply.
Yeah who exactly am I?
“Irsya” I heard a voice in my head.
Who are you?
In a response to my question my vision became blurry and was soon replaced by darkness. The only thing I could see was a person who looked exactly like me, hovering in the darkness. She eyes were closed it looked as if she was sleeping.
Suddenly she opened her eyes and looked at me.
“I’m waiting for you Irsya to reach me so we can become one again.” I heard the voice again.
The darkness disappeared, I was back at the Elven town standing before Vilea and Erthor. The whole vision must’ve happened in an instant, because they still didn’t notice a pause in my reply.
This second me called me Irsya Is it truly my name?
“...Irsya.” I finished the sentence.
After I said the name, a strange feeling surged through me. It was as if I have found a part of me that was lost.
““Nice to meet you Irsya.”” The pair of siblings replied at the same time.
“You know I didn’t not imagine a Primordial Demon to be like this.” said Erthor.
“Like this?” I asked.
“Teacher told me that Primordial Demons are very haughty and treat other races as insignificant beings and you don’t seem like this.” He explained.
It’s because I’m not one.
“Well you can think of me as an exception.” I said.
“Is this why you’ve been found on the edge of the forest?” He asked.
Don’t screw up this conversation!
“Please I don’t want to talk about this.” I answered.
“I understand that it might be hard for you, so I won’t insist.” He replied.
“Come, I’ll show you around your apartment.” said Vilea in an attempt to lighten the mood.
“Apartment?” I asked surprised.
“You really didn’t think that we would let a Primordial Demon to live in this “Guest House”.” She explained.
Vilea then grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the area with highest buildings.
I hope I won’t get into a bigger mess.
Sorry for long pause, but it was soo hot that I couldn’t think. I just wanted to lie down and do nothing.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
