《Ley World-The Game》Chapter 40 (Part 1)

With the first day of questions over. Everyone was free to leave the stadium and go back to whatever hotel they were staying at. There were still a few more days left, some for more questions, and some for the game's special events. Since by now in-game it had passed more than a week, some of the larger planets would be having a special event issued to all players currently on them.
There were thousands of small rainbow colored balls that were going to be placed around the planets, and the players had to collect as many of them as they could. If you saw another player with them, you were free to kill and steal it from them.
The prices weren't announced yet, but people were thinking it would most likely have to do with either the foundation of a guild, or spaceships. Guilds were notoriously hard to make, with nobody having made one yet, simply because the licenses required to create, name, and run one were insane.
You needed to be able to hire hundreds of lawyers, doctors, and suppliers, and so far, nobody had the money to buy the in-game basic guild pass, which came with everything you needed.
Some places sold it cheaper than others, but just finding one planet that sold it was hard enough. As for spaceships, though small ones had been bought by players, medium sized carriers/warships, or even high-tiered hangers were still far from the player's reaches.
The price could also be more stats for people, but the general populous thought it unlikely. Most people in-game didn't go for fighting, so stats wouldn't be that important for everyone. What most people needed was to just level-up they're skills, as they could gain serious profit off of it. Many engineers also moved into playing in the game, being able to buy high-tech labs after just a bit of messing around and selling items.
One of the questions asked a few hours prior was actually about that. If someone invented something in-game that could be used IRL, what would happen with copywrite and such. Well, the company was preparing to not only pay for the licensing, but also invest in it enough money to buy a factory and get distribution running.

The company would in the end receive 25% of the profits along with the total invested money after 3 years. This allowed them to make some money and get the money they put into it back, giving them a large profit. Many people were opposed to this, but there was nothing they could do. The game was theirs. They could either use it to invent things quicker, or they wouldn't be able to use it at all.
Back to the event, since most people still didn't know what the prices were, they were taking it lightly. There were a few hardcore players who were ready to scour through planets to find anything they could that would give them an advantage. It would last 1 day in-game, so the IRL livestreams would take a while. To make sure nobody stream-sniped, the devs had also made it so that anybody who joined the event couldn't leave until it was done, else everything they wouldn't be able to log back in until after it happened.
Past the event, people would be going into specially designed capsules at the stadium that allowed there to be a massive 100v100 LAN battle. People could pit any basic weapon /magic, and use it throughout the fight. This would happen a few times, with different maps, different objectives, and different people. It was sure to take a while.
With all of this included, it would be another 2 days until the 'Grand Ceremony Festival' would end. For now, Gorden Co. just had to get ready to talk about the in-game to IRL market, where people would be allowed to convert real cash to IRL cash, and buy IRl items with cash. It was quite the pay-to-win system, but in the game, skills and stats mattered more than gear.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the start of today's events, Mr. Gorden was already there. There wouldn't be any more entrances, as today's topic would be quite long and would require lots of explaining, and they still needed time afterwards for the start of the event.
It was 9:15 AM and the last people were getting seated inside the stadium. The news stations were once again all set up, lights flashing everywhere. People buzzed in their seats, awaiting the start. 5 minutes passed, and Mr. Gorden took the stage once more. Dressed in red khaki pants and a white button-down, he looked much more casual than many wold expect from one of the soon-to-be trillionaire.

"Welcome everyone to the second day of our little gathering. As you all know, today's topics will be about the game's markets, and the exchange of money from one to the other. I'll be giving the overall talk while afterwards a few of the people responsible for this system will come up and explain it in a better light."
"Firstly, Player's will be able to buy in-game currency using real-life money. The exact amount is yet to be decided, and most likely won't be decided for a few more weeks, as we plan to iron everything out. You can't use in-game currency for real-life money though. The only way to make money off of this game is selling items, houses, ideas, companies, etc. You can be a carpenter and create a masterful set of furniture, and sell it on the market for real-money."
"The reason for player's paying with actual money is the extra-fees and delivery time. If you bought something from another player for in-game currency, you would have to pay for it to be sent to you by ship, and you could have to wait for days or even weeks depending on how far from the vendor the customer is. If you pay with actual money though, you won't have to pay extra fees and the items will be instantly delivered to you."
"By the time we decide the IRL to In-Game currency system, we will have made it so that buying it straight with money and not in-game currency will cost less than just buying the currency and then purchasing the item."
"Finally, as for the currency exchange, all the money will obviously go to Gorden Co. but for the market deals using IRL money, Gorden Co. will take 1% of the money. It's quite cheap compared to most other game platforms, with some using up to 25%. Now then. That's the basis. Now lets let one of the men who created this have his turn."
Mr. Gorden came down, allowing another man onto the stage. He was wearing a simple black suit and tie, and had a short buzz-cut.
"Hello everyone! My name is Felix Ealif. I'm the lead creator of the market and it's systems. Questions will be answered shortly, but I want to add on to what Mr. Gorden has said. We plan for the currency exchange to be quite generous. With $100 you will be able to buy a decently built ship capable of fitting multiple people. Most of the beta-players don't even have enough in-game currency for that."
"We'll also probably be increasing the currency exchange for holidays or other important dates. We also plan to give an extra percent to people who pay more than $100. For example, if you exchanged $100 for 100 of the in-game currency, you would get 101 of the currency. If you exchanged $200, you would get 204 of the currency. This goes on and on, until the point that is someone want's to spend $10,000 on currency exchange, they will get double what the would normally get."
"Now, as Mr. Gorden spoke about the player market where people will be able to pay with actual money, we are currently overseeing the completion of it, and don't have much to talk about, as it's still being fixed and worked upon, as we also have to work with almost every bank in the world for this to work properly."
"Finally, all the money gained from currency exchange and the 1% taken from market transactions will all be put towards the development teams, to get more and more content added to the game. While the world is generated by the computer, the developers still have to go back into the generated world and turn it into a world capable of sustaining and enticing millions of people."
"Now then, any questions?"

Understanding a cultivation world
A modern man armed with having read a few novels about cultivation is suddenly transmigrated to a cultivation world. He fights to both survive and thrive in this new archaic world full of arrogant young masters, demonic sects, and incredibly hostile wildlife. Note: In this story, I wanted to focus a lot more on what most novels skim past in regards to cultivation, namely the whole, spiritual growth aspect that seems to be entirely absent from the prosses of obtaining enlightenment the majority of the time, but the method of gaining cultivation. how it works, and what kind of world would develop around it are all things I wish to explore in this novel.
