So I found this website, ==>wordcounter.net

Now that I can use that to write, I'm going to slowly start increaseing the word count per chapter. Maybe by 200-300 per chapter so that I can get chapters with over 2000 words in 2 weeks or so.

Hope you enjoy! -Zono

"Well, well, well, look what we have here. Looks like you found the training dummies' attack mode." -Knell

Turning around Jayson spotted Knell.

"Oh what, yes I did. It took me awhile but I finally managed to think up some new techniques. They are still really bland and hard to do but with practice they should become better and smoother." -Jayson

"Well then why don't you show some of them to me?" -Knell

Something feels off about him but I'm not sure what it is. Sooner or later I'll find out though. Now then I guess it's time to show him some of it some of my techniques so he can help me improve them.

He picked his sword up from the ground and got ready to show off his new techniques. He took a stance before charging forward and sent a diagonal slash towards it. But he forgot that the dummy was still in attack mode.

Out of nowhere the dummy sent a kick, right into his groin. Going in fetal position Knell came over laughing and gave him something.

"Here take these. They are pills made especially for guys when they're kicked in the nuts. It'll take the pain away in a few minutes just stand up and eat them." - Knell

Standing up Jayson who took the pills and got back up ready to go once again. Quickly turning the dummy back into defensive mode he took a stance once again. Charging forward he swung diagonally from it's left leg to it's right shoulder.

Quickly spinning around he sent a slash across the dummy's chest. After that he quickly jumped backwards, threw his sword up in the air and pulled out his guns. He quickly shot them but the bullets missed by a meter. As he was putting his guns away and got ready to grab his sword that was still in the air he felt something sharp stabbing into his back.

Before it could dig any deeper Knell dashed forwards and quickly grabbed the sword and pulled it out of Jayson's back.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" - Jayson

Jayson scream as felt the blade being abruptly ripped out of him. Holding the place where the blade had penetrated his skin he felt a long and deep gash.

"You're an idiot you know that. I told you to create some new techniques. You shouldn't be trying to go this complex so quickly. You need to first create your basics and then move forward. What you need to do now is increase your dexterity and your intelligence. If you could think faster and move your body in a smooth fashion you will be able to grab things and do all of these techniques a lot better. For now just wait for that to heal." - Knell

An hour later.

"Huh. I completely forgot that fighting styles need to create the basics first. How should I do them?" - Jayson

"To create the basics instead of trying to create new techniques and new combos which is what you're doing right now you should focus on singular strikes and singular movements. Once you've mastered them to a certain point even they will be considered their own techniques. For example, the 360 slash that you did before, you should try to keep doing that technique until you almost mastered it so you could do that at a faster pace and so you can do with any bladed object, even a piece of wood. Once you master the technique you will be able to find ways to improve it and you will be able to use it in new ways. Even something as simple as standing and not moving or a breathing method can become a technique once you do it enough." - Knell

Huh, something as simple as a breathing method. Maybe a meditation method that improves your focus? I guess I'll ask him.

"So what if i create a meditation method that helps improve your concentration and makes your body move at a faster pace will it be considered its own technique? Or will it be part of the fighting style instead of a technique?" - Jayson

"It will be considered a technique once you master to a certain point, as I've said a couple times now. While it will take a very long time to master it to that point, once you do it will overall it will improve your fighting style and even your other techniques will become better because of it even if they have no correlation. For now here's a tip. Just focus on the singular strike, a singular stance, or singular thing that you want to do even if all you do is sit down and stare at a wall for a few hours so be it, do it." - Knell

With that Knell walked away leaving Jayson thinking.

So focus on a singular thing... I guess the most fundamental thing is a state of mind so time to start making a breathing method.

Sitting down Jayson closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Sensing the mana around him he created a visual map. As he was breathing he began to change how far he would sense the mana. Each time he would breathe in the area would contract, and each time he exhaled it would increase.

He began doing this for a while and after a few minutes he finally got a good rhythm down. Now came the hard part. He started taking deeper breathes as he watched the radius of his vision decrease. It started at 50 meters and was extremely vague. Soon, it shrunk down to 10 meters. He could now see extremely small details in the ground and could feel the disturbances in the air. Soon though, he could no longer keep the area that small and detailed and his concentration broke.

Sighing, he sat that down ready to continue. Taking another deep breath he began to contract the circle once again, but this time he stopped at 20 meters. Now that he was here he slowly began to focus more on the area and to try to limit how much is radius changed every time he would breathe in and out. Soon it would barely changed by a centimeter.

Happy with where he had gone he got up and realized how hungry he was. Walking outside of the room he was in he followed the path that led to the cafeteria, ready to eat.
