5 Hours Later
Skill: Change Gravity: has leveled up!
Change Gravity(Gravity Magic)Level 60% 1/750,000DescriptionThe ability to change the gravitational force in a certain area. As your skill level increases, your control over the area and how much gravity you can change will increase.
Current: Able to change gravity by 50% of it's usual. 100kg->50kg or vise versa.
Uhhh, this is taking way too long. I guess learning magic won't be as simple or quick as I expected it to be. But still, it's way too hard to do this. By the time I get this skill to 95% won't I be almost maxing it out? Or will I be able to keep going and change the gravity by over 100%? I guess it makes sense for increasing gravity so it may actually be possible.
Coming out of his trance-like state, Jayson continued his never ending torture of practicing.
The only good part that came out of it was that his Gravity Magic had become level 4, and he had gotten 5 intelligence that gave him a total of 150 Mana.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A full day later Jayson finally managed to do it.
Skill: Change Gravity: has leveled up!
Change Gravity(Gravity Magic)Level 100% 0/2,800,000DescriptionThe ability to change the gravitational force in a certain area. As your skill level increases, your control over the area and how much gravity you can change will increase.
Current: Able to change gravity by 100% of it's usual. 100kg->0kg or vise versa.
Finally! I can complete the task! And according to the screen I can still level the skill up. I guess that means I can go past 100%. The dev wasn't lying when he said this game had no limits.
Finally, we walked back over to Full and showed him the two balls.

"Good job. Now your next task will be with Void Magic. One of the important things about Void Magic is being able to quickly transport yourself from one area to another. Stand on that line, and using magic I want you to magically transport yourself to that line, 50 centimeters away. Good Luck." As he was turning around, Jayson began.
"No mean to be rude, but what level exactly are you?" Full looked back and smirked. Grabbing Jayson's head, he murmured "Analyze Pass."
Jayson collapsed on the ground as information began to spread through his brain. Once the pain subsided, he was met with once again, another pop-up.
You have learned new skill: Analyze!
AnalyzeLevel 10% 0/1,000DescriptionUsing this skill, you are able to determine the stats of anything you analyze.
Current: Can analyze anything half your level and get full detail. After half of your level, you can't see their skills. Anything after your level will only show name, Level, HP, and Mana.
What? I can analyze people and find their level? I guess it is quite a good skill to have.
"Analyze me." Looking up, he found Full looking at him.
Thinking Analyze in his head, Jayson was greeted by a very surprising status screen.
StatusNameFull ???RaceVoid-ElfExperienceLevel 43,546: ?% ?/???Titles???Health350,550Mana785,820/823,250Health Regen???Mana Regen???Vitality???Endurance???Strength???Agility???Dexterity???Intelligence???Wisdom???Willpower???Status Effects???
W...WHAT! LEVEL 43,546?!?!?!?!?! HE HAS 350K HEALTH AND OVER 800K MANA!? HOW!
"You still have much to learn Jayson, in this world, levels as high as mine as common. Hell, most babies are born at over level 500! The reason I'm not sending you to fight is the fact that right now someone could flick you and you would die. I will make you stronger and then you will go on to fight. Now go on and work." Shushing him away, Full walked away, leaving Jayson thinking about his level.

Babies are born over level 500? God this world is crazy. I have to get stronger faster is I want to catch up to other people.
Making up his mind, Jayson stood on the line and began to work. He closed his eyes and imagined himself moving from one spot to the other. Adding Void Magic in between the two places, Jayson felt a connection and pulled.
When he opened his eyes, he saw that he had moved, but barely. The line was 50 centimeters away from him, and he had moved only 2 centimeters. This was going to take a long, long time just as he had expected.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has been 3 in-game days since then. In that time, he gained a series of other skills for the other magics as well.
Blink(Void Magic)Level 77% 4335/850,000DescriptionThe ability to "teleport" to another location. You must know the exact location and be able to picture it in your mind.
Current: Can blink up to 55 centimeters away.
Void Breathe(Void Magic)Level 10% 0/10000DescriptionThe ability to breath using Void magic instead of air. Used to go out into empty space.
Current: Can last for up to 5 minutes.
For Stellar magic, he had also learned 2 skills.
Stellar Gate(Stellar Magic)Level 10% 0/10000DescriptionThe ability to create a semi-permanent wormhole used to go from one solar system to another.
Current: Max size of 10 meters by 10 meters and can last for up to a year.
Creation(Stellar Magic)Level 10% 0/10000DescriptionThe ability to create a world inside of yourself. To be able to create this world, you must have sufficient practice with both Void and Gravity Magic. As you learn more magics, they will slowly be incorporated into your world. It is possible to send items from real life into that world and back out.
This skill levels through training of other magics along with just time.
Current Size: 10 Meters by 10 Meters
By now, Jayson was just resting in his room after 5 days of non-stop practice.
At least I'm done with the beginning. I'm glad I got all those other stat boosts from this. It's surprising to find out doing hard things can give you stat points. That 10 extra intelligence and wisdom sure is nice.
As he was about to fall asleep he was stopped by a prompt.
Warning, you have been in game for a full real-life day. In 10 in-game minutes you will be forcefully logged off. This is only happening so we the dev's can get your opinions on the game so far. After this, the next time you will be logged off is after 1 full real-life week.
Uhhh, back to real life. I almost forgot that this is just a fake world. Well, I'm already in bed so now I just wait.
A few minutes later his vision turned black.
AUTHOR NOTES: Will put full status screen at the end of next chapter along with all his skills. I think I'll do it every 5 chapters.

The Eagle's Flight
The king is dead; his heir is too young to assume the throne. Jarl Vale wants to become Lord Protector, spurred by his ambitious brother Konstans. Jarl Isarn likewise seeks this power; he is aided – or thwarted – by the return of his brother, the knight and war hero Athelstan, whose squire, Brand, hopes to restore his family’s fortunes, cost what it may. Through all of this, an enigmatic traveller makes plans with jarls, scribes, and priests for his own purpose. Abroad, powerful forces sense division in the realms of Adalmearc and make their own plans. It is only a matter of time before schemes clash, plots collide, and conflict erupts. War is on the horizon. Story updates every Wednesday. The first, second and third book can be downloaded as ebooks from my site, where a map of the world or of Middanhal can be viewed. The site also contains other background information such as history of the realms, pantheon and religion, calendar etc.

2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.
8 153An Infinite Recursion of Time
I always wanted to be taken to another world, and as they say, there are no atheists in the foxhole that we call real life. I prayed, and prayed, and prayed until one day, I opened my eyes to see my dream had come true. I also saw the axe of an orc bearing down on my skull. You win some, you lose some. A time-loop fantasy story written after getting into litRPGs a bit. I wondered what it would be like if I just went and wrote a story about all the things I liked in web fiction without holding back: time loops, RPG stats, certain character archetypes, and harems played straight. Please be warned of lewd descriptions and depraved sexualization. If nothing else, this will be a sincere work.
