《NPC I want experience》Chapter 22 trying to live down a bad title

A Lecturer spoke and I actually listened “Archmages they come in two types the standard and the grand archmage. A grand elemental archmage has the classes Earth Mage, Fire mage,Water mage and Air mage before taking the class Grand elemental mage which can be upgraded to Archmage elemental mage . It takes five classes to become a grand elemental archmage. Very few humans have gained this Class. However among the elves it is not uncommon”
I began to sweat it took five classes to be a elemental Archmage. The lecturer went on “As you become more powerful even your race can change. The percentage of your humanity can be altered by particularly powerful titles. This is the main reason mages are such a sought after class. We can extent our life spans.”
The lecturer looked at the class “In the past humans managed to defeat a portion of the elf armies. Armies of yeoman archers marched and buried the elf mages under a mountain of there own corpses. It is said a thousand humans died for every Elf Mage”
The lecturer grinned again “The elves responded and war broke out. Humanity was united and the war turned vicious. In the end the cost of slaughtering humanity proved to much for the elves. Remember this a single Elemental mage is worth ten thousand standard troops. If we did not breed so quickly we would have lost the elf wars.”
The lecturer starred at the class “Of course there are other classes almost as powerful as Elemental Mage. The most feared human classes are the one with arch Necromancer in them. Mostly because of a human Lich that rose six thousand years ago. A young human was granted the first recorded class of necromancer and turned into a lich. A immortal being the lich is usually insane and evil beyond your darkest nightmares. The unknown lich six thousand years ago was most liken completely insane as well. The lich spent centuries learning magic and passed that knowledge to humanity.”
Tommy a water mage up his hand “So what? Its just knowledge.” The lecturer turned red with rage “So what in a instant humans had access to magics even the elves could not access. Overnight humanity evolved. Mages lead humanity on a mighty war to grab territory ”
The lecturer looked around “That Lich altered humanity and lead one city to evolve into high humans and then into moon elves. It lead to the arch necromancer class itself. Humanity is about the only race where this terrifying class appears regularly. ”
The lecturer pulled out a sheet with a list of classes on it he pointed. “As you know the yeoman class is a advanced peasant class. But what are traits they can be passed on. The lords and knight try to keep the strong traits for themselves. That ancient lich showed how to spread out lesser traits among everyone”
The class looked at each other shocked as the lecturer went on. “The higher noble class typical hate Lichs while the middle class will always try and befriend the Lichs to gain access to there cheat sheets.”
Tommy raised his hand “But why humans have there own cheat sheets now” The lecturer laughed “The yeomen traits are weaker than the lord classes because the lord classes use massive amounts of resources to get where they are. A newly constructed yeoman city will have 16 times the amount of inheritable traits as a newly constructed lord lead city. They will be far weaker than the lord classes but over time the yeoman city will produce real monsters much stronger that the lord classes. Given these facts do you think the lords would allow the knowledge of yeoman classes to spread? Besides Lichs have spend thousands of years studying magic. There cheat sheets are far more complete than even the elves. ”

The lecturer pointed to a chart “A chart for a lord lead city and yeoman free city. Three generations after its construction a citizen of the yeoman city will have a +1 strength and +1 endurance trait and a 6-8 percent chance of having magic trait. The peasant in the lord city will have a -1 strength a -3 endurance trait and possibly a negative smelly trait. They will have 0.5 percentage chance of having a magic trait. The lecturer grinned remember this if you find a Lich try and get its cheat sheets if you can. At the least the Lords and Yeoman will pay gold for them.”
We trundled off to our next class battle magic for beginners. A massive paladin and protected a mage who stood in a ring and demonstrated how to shoot fire balls while hiding behind the Paladins shield.
The Paladin finished by explaining “You stay behind your partners shield and finish your spells before anything else. If your shield goes down because his hand has been cut off keep chanting. Your legs on fire keep chanting. Get that spell off then worry about it.”
Tommy asked something “Who are the worst human enemies to fight against?” “Necromancers or dark knowledge cultists. If you meet either at around the same level as you run. Take your friend Wrath there for instance. He most likely has a steady or perhaps a steadfast trait. One in four yeoman produced mages has a negative class. Sorcerer, High Sorcerer, Corpse Magician, Poison Master. Its quite possible one of his first class is something like that. They tend to have all sorts of nasty skills and abilities.”
Realizing everyone was looking at me funny the mage quickly tried to distract everyone “Remember you will need the help of those classes to purchase many of the magic ingredients you will need. In fact several of the so called darker classes like poison master can brew potions that can increase your natural traits over time.”
I winced everyone knew i was hiding my first class now they were certain i was hiding something. The mage noticed i was looking uncomfortable and hurried on to talk about large area of effect spells. I hurried off before the mage could embarrass me further. I decided to meet Kenya at the library. Kenya was excited and grinned at me “I heard you had a couple of dark titles. That you have some secret and terrifying secret class.” I shrugged “its just not one i want people to know about.”
Arch Necromancer was a class i did not want anyone to know about. Kenya grinned “Fine do not tell me. But i have a good offer. If you know any good mercenaries I know a couple of places to gather herbs but there are wolves. If you know a couple of yeoman archers we can form a herb picking party.”
I nodded thinking about it I had twenty goblin shaman and there staffs in storage. I also had a single goblin elite commander. I could sent the skeletons off on mass. It was a pity the bone golem was so big and heavy i was betting a single one of those could wipe out all the wolves in an entire mountain range in no time.

I nodded to Kenya “I have a friend who might let me borrow a bone golem we could send it in to wipe out the wolves. ” Kenya eyes glowed “Thats great the small valley i know is only a day away by boat. We can clear it out and gather the herbs i know some local farmers we can borrow a cart from them if we agree to clear out the wolves. We might get a couple of carts full of herbs.”
I nodded “Well as long as we are sending out minions we should hire someone to guard the valley for us.” Kenya grinned “What are you a evil overlord or something when did you get minions?” A Mage ran into the library and grabbed me “Theres a constable outside waiting for you.” A older looking guard was waiting for me outside. His armour was dented and had been repaired many times.
He starred at me “Does a orc named Thorn work for you? ” I nodded and the guard looked me over “Seriously that berserk killing machine works for you?” I nodded “I am away from home and short on gold. So my father said I needed a guard to get here. She is suppose to be doing work for the mercenary guild ” The guard nodded “My names Daven Steelfist your friend was found over the corpses of twenty thieves and kidnappers. We need to get moving. The judge hates orcs do you have coin for a good lawyer. I nodded and pulled out a gold coin.”
Daven grabbed it and nodded to me “Meet me at the city jail”
Kenya looked at me in surprise “Wow whats going on here?” I shrugged and headed to the jail. The Jail was horrible people were chained to the wall outside the prison begging to be feed. I guess they did not want to waste any gold on feeding the prisoners. The prisoners all starred at me hungrily but were to afraid of the guards to do more than put out there hands. It was horrible but i needed to get Thorn out of this hell hole and fast. I entered the front gate and found Thorn cover in blood chained to a wall with two crossbow men guarding her.
I walked forward a saw a screaming lawyer. “Your honour she was found over the corpses of 27 men. Men who had been hacked to death many were missing limbs. There were teeth marks on a couple of the bodies.”
I walked forward “Excuse me I believe my servant Thorns being held in chains over there I have hided a lawyer for her so can we wait until he gets here.” The judge starred at me he snorted “We can not your friend was found over the corpses of a lot of rif raf . Now your servant what kind of servant is she?” I glanced at Thorn and swallowed “It is a thrall contract. Its kind of like a peasant or slave contract. But she has the option to purchase her freedom every seven years.” The judge nodded “In that case did you give her permission to hunt down thieves?”
I nodded “yes she wanted to collect bounties while she was here. She gains experience and I get most of the reward.” The Judge starred at me “Keep your dog under closer supervision. Guards release the prisioner. ”
Kenya looked at Thorn and then at me “She is awesome. 350 hip points why does not she have a third class yet? ” I decided to get Kenya off topic “Why did the judge just free her like that?” Kenya winced “He is a bigot because you said Thorn was your orc he let her go. She was not massacring thieves she was just following orders.” Thorn growled “I guess its a good thing I am his Thrall.”
The judge came over with a complaining woman. The looked
at me “There has been a complaint that you might not be the Orc legal owner” The woman glared at me “Thats right your honour that kid never showed up to collect Thorns pay from the mercenary guild.”
The judge looked at me “Do you have proof that she belongs to you?” I thought about it “I have her mercenary sheet in my room. My handwriting should be on her application form to join the mercenary guild and i might have a bill of sale in my records. It might be a record of her being a prize for a successful quest given by Van.” The Judge smiled “Good lad remember keep good track of your slaves.”
A young lawyer ran in the door and came to a halt “Sorry i am late I am here to defend a poor innocent orc named Thorn.” The young lawyer looked at me and froze “Oh my god its the orc poisoner dark one.” One of the guards who had been guarding Thorn looked at me “Well blow me away the bandit torturing little necromancer actually exists.”
I looked at the guard “Wait what?” The guard nodded “Yeah there were stories of you chopping the heads off bandits and using your dark powers to torture them. Of course no one actually goes around torturing bandits just for fun.”
The judge looked at the guard “Wait how many bodies were in the place that the orc was found and how old were the bodies.”
The guard grabbed his crossbow and pointed it at me. “There were 27 new corpses from where Thorn broke in all butchered them all. It looked like she was stacking them to be collected later.” I sighed “Bandits or there remains have no legal protection under the law right?”
The Judge swallowed “Non at all so you can leave straight away.”

8 297Oracle by Default
Oracles are known as divine handouts passed down from the Holy Creator. There are times when evil exist and the Holy Creator wishes to intervene, to which the title of the Oracle is bestowed upon an individual to become the Creator's will in physical form. The Oracle's mission is to then gather heroes from different races to purge the evil. “For the reckoning that is to come, all are tested. Thou shall be the shadow of which valiant souls shine and guide thee through harsh trials. Till oblivion comes, do not turn astray but to continue down the path thou chosen to walk. Lastly, thou must not see eye to eye with, but against the world.” A mysterious man engraved a seal onto Kihet before saving him from being consumed by the flames. The seal seems to have a strong connection with the legends of the Oracle and a Tower with no entrance that suddenly sprouted near the village. Throughout years, his efforts to study the strange tower remained fruitless. Then one day, the village decided it was time for his friends and him to become envoys to look for the potential evil the Holy Creator detected. Before Kihet can set off on his journey alongside his friends, he has his own set of problems to overcome against the village. Note: It's slow. There is romance, but it plays a small role that I don’t know if I should add it in the tags. Main story starts at Chapter 12. Chapters before do contain meaningful context for the rest of story.
