Chapter 9: It's Alive!?
[Sir Sevix Coros, Commander of Iledel]
It wasn’t long after the accession of the new Empress.
Although the public could accept it, he still held his suspicion.
It wasn’t really a secret among the top management about The Council hesitancy of Ex Emperor Charles.
Having took part during one of Charles’ tour to subjugate Chimeras and enemy forces, he knew exactly who he is behind the mask.
‘There’s no way Lord Antonnio would have allowed that monster to become the Emperor.’
The whole mess sticks of a conspiracy by the Council.
>An Empress which is a cat that can talk and defeat that monster? Animals cannot talk. Demi humans can but they are not animals. Even the Tamer Guild supported this.
>Emperor Charles sudden disappearance. No matter what, he did manage to kill Empress Sophia.
>The sudden support of all the houses to a new Empress. Though they are part of the Empire; each house competes with each other. Never except the times of the First Emperor that all of the house united to support one grandiosely.
>Lastly, the destruction of the Sigil. The Sigil is or rather, was the pride of the Council and also it’s bane. Although it’s a national secret, the inheritance from the First Emperor has undergone numerous attempt to be destroyed. Every attempt ended in vain. Some even perished; unable to suffer the backlash.
Hearing something 100 times does not measure up to seeing it once or so they said.
Flying above the desert with his gryphon, Sir Sevix looked at the gauged desert; a huge cat’s paw lay there as he questioned his doubts.
‘Was the official report true? Did the Empress did this?’
Putting aside his five cents about their new ruler, he signaled the Earth mages to proceed.

“Squads, move in!” Earth Mage Recon Leader.
Six squads of un-manned golems began to close the encircled ‘paw’. A six pointed star formation advance forward. The first triangle advance first proceeds with a second triangle with gryphons patrolling the sky.
A polished position of the Empire to insure nothing escaped.
After the serpent descended down, a second strike came. Ripping the sand apart yet again.
The sand storm was quickly settled down by one of his aide but amidst the confusion, the serpent vanished. Leaving only the gauged Earth. Yet, it’s mana signature still remains. Possibly paralyzed inside the gauge.
'How did the serpent still survive that??’
Thus, resulting the formation of the investigation squad to know exactly what’s happening.
Not long after the golems advance, blast of explosions thundered from the gauge.
Parts of the golem flew above the gauge almost hitting the gryphons squad observing them.
Sweats began to form on his forehead.
“Seal the gauge”
Avalanche of sands came down. Engulfing whatever it is deep inside the earth.
A pillar of blue fire broke the avalanche as slowly a human like figure with a flaming sword ascended from the sands and float towards the gryphon riders.
This time though, there was no warning screech, the fiery figure closes the gap between them leaving red blur on his track.
the blade slashes horizontally. Watching the blade grew closer, slicing away his last defense; , aimed at his neck.
The heat of the flame sword in front of him. The cold breath of death behind him. And finally, Sir Sevix grinned.
‘If I’m going to die and so be it.’
Not losing their eye-contact, he released his . Activating the trump card of House Coros engrained in their spirit as a final resort.

A one-way-force-transfer to oblivion for both the caster and his enemy.
‘Thang’ the blade was deflected.
Blasting away the fiery figure
“You have done well Sir Sevix.” Sir Antonio Coros praised him after quickly resealing the Coros Seal.
On the other hand, Blade Master Ashio Kasai, the Seventh Council member sword fight took place with the fiery figure. Allowing the gryphon encirclement to chant buffing and debuffing magic on the two.
“Stand Down. The Empress has granted thee an audience.” Lord Antonio announced using a mysterious stick with a semicircle on top.
[Lord Terran Aba, Slavery Reduction Act Taskforce Captain]
Following the Imperial decree, all sorts of action have been taken by the Empire.
While some can be handled in the white, others need the black and the brute force with it.
“, ”
Crushing the head of Demonic Python protecting the compound via , Lord Terran swoop in and captured the slavers.
a spell to disrupt the mana inside the prisoner’s body while immobilizing them by cutting away the control of the five senses.
“You think the …….” Another Earth Bullet blast away the slaver’s head.
‘Too noisy.’
“Search the compound, we have our prisoners, so do your best.”
Lady Aba orders were simple, “Captured the important looking people and kill the rest.”
Truly the incarnation of merciless muscle head.
On top of the 100+ fallen mercenaries, they began to round up the slaves.
“My Lord we have secured the elves from the Sequino Forest.”
“Good.”
“One more thing, we have found a survivor from the Lake Seiko Siren Clan”
Startled, “Bring her to the Castle and escort the rest to the camp.”
“But My Lord, …”
“Let her rest for now, the incident was two months ago. Also inform Lord Mongered Marrion about this, he would be pleased to know who massacred his adopted parent’s clan… Parent’s clan.”
“Never make that mistake in front of Lord Mongered if you value your life” he continued.
“Yes My Lord.”
[Lady Avigail Aba, the Tenth Council Member]
Back in the throne room.
‘It seems they are on the way’
even before the report about the serpent’s arrival, our Empress have quickly given her orders.
Not orders rather she woke up and wanting to go eastwards.
‘So cute!’ Flapping her little wings and mumbling around with her eyes closed.
After much pestering, we finally convince her to let Antonnio to represent her meeting the mysterious figure.
Mostly because the danger this unknown entity possesses and to stall time for the Emperor’s Guard to place down defenses.
Gifting the two a stick [Translating Microphone] to communicate with it and a small transparent glass ball [Barrier Shield] in case the person response aggressively.
The Empress proceeded to lay down on her throne and slept.
“Antonio, bring Kasai with you.”
The Empress decision to give those the gifts show that this entity is not to be trifled with. It’s best if at least there is a close quarter specialist in case something goes bad.
Facing the Emperor’s Guards and Castle Maids,
“Prepare to greet our ‘guest’, in no circumstances shall we allow the Empress to lose face nor harm to be fallen upon her.”

Age of Regression
[Author's Thoughts] Dropped, obviously. Still, it's my first attempt at a novel and I do love what I did with it. Big step towards learning. Far in the past, there was a civilization much more advanced than the one of modern times. Evidence of that time remains, but it is all but shrouded in mystery as there remains no way to decipher it. Currently, normal individuals wage war with guns and smaller machinery, but those who can wield a higher power vary in their abilities. Scales, born upon humans, are a mystery in their origins but are the source of their abilities and their way towards advancement. Although normally powerless, humans have adapted to the scales and thus can connect with the power of the universe, much like the other races that inhabit its various corners. In one of these corners, there exists a human settlement where Lancing follows his father's footsteps to begin his own ascent to power. However, he finds he is far different from his gifted father, whose scales below his eyes were among the purest ever seen, reaching gem-like quality. Far from perfect, Lancing shows no desire to give up and ceaselessly moves forward to reach the peak of the universe. However, he begins to notice that the mysteries of the universe slowly begin to unravel in front of his eyes. To reach the heavens, Lancing must carve his own path.
