“White Tiger, there is no reason to hold formalities, you are the Pavilion Master, it is only natural that you don’t need to.”
Osena returned a slight nod while making a comment. She had come to watch Owen after all, actually that was a lie, she was definitely only here because Kovinth was here. Though she quickly made the excuse that a certain Pathwalker caught her eye to the others. The White Tiger, the an old woman who was the Rebirth snake and Kovinth all looked at her dumbfounded thinking all at the same time.
‘Who the hell would believe that? We all know you’re here for Kovinth.’
Kovinth added a little more on his thoughts however.
‘I swear to god, some other god at least, if you say we are married…’
Kovinth gave Osean a meaningful look as he expressed his thoughts through his glare clearly. Osena played the innocent foolish girl and kept chatting with the old woman beside her. The old woman had very wrinkled skin, and hunched slightly over. Her eyebrows were drooping over, others would think she was ready to die at any moment. But just from her eyes alone, one could tell she was planning on living for another billions maybe even trillions of years. The White Tiger seeing that Osena was now speaking with Kovinth off to the side muttered softly.
“Who do you think they are here for?”
The Rebirth Snake gave him a look of detest.
“How the hell should I know? I was training my own disciple after all you blockhead.”
The White Tiger nodded and maybe cause he remembered something he asked another question.
“Is your student perhaps that Blind lad?”

Hearing this Kovinth’s and Osena’s ears perked up. The White Tiger actually wanted to hear the Rebirth Snake’s answer but upon seeing the completely obvious actions of the Sun-Dragon and the Lunar Wolf, he suddenly felt like a headache was about to approach. He then spread his soul out and spoke to Iohanne.
“Make note of the blind lad.”
“Master I am already aware.”
The White Tiger looked surprised but he didn’t ask. He felt it was already going to annoying. He was even tempted to run away while Osena and Kovinth were watching. But the old Rebirth Snake gave him a glare which he entirely understood as ‘don’t you dare leave me with these two alone’.
The White tiger started to knead his temples while letting out a deep sigh.

During this time the thousands of Pathwalkers were being serviced by attractive ladies and men. There was even a stage where the veiled woman were dancing provocatively. Their dresses already showed incredible amounts of skin as each curve of their body tempted the males with every seductive movement. Rauf as well was charmed by these ladies, but that didn’t overpower his desire for food as he jumped straight into eating the feast before him. Owen on the other hand was thinking something.
‘What is the point of all this?’
He was calm, he wasn’t interested in any of the Keepers, their looks didn’t matter to him as he could only see hundreds of white forms, and the thousands of different coloured Pathwalkers throwing themselves into the festive mood of a banquet. But this confused Owen.
‘Although this might seem like we are committing the sins, these are only a happy event. It can’t be said that any of these things would cause extreme desire…..’
At that moment everything changed. The once bright room was dimmed softly, and a few candles lit in the back of the stage. Standing there, lit up by these dancing flames, was a single dancer. She wore a dress that held her curves tightly. The colour was a sharp pink like a cherry blossom and her long black hair was tied up and flow down like a waterfall. This was someone Owen met once before, it was Iohanne.

Ding!
A light bell only slightly louder than the ones on Owen’s ears rung throughout the hall. Then a deep instrumental music started to play. No one knew where the music was being played, but no one cared they only saw one thing, and that was Iohanne’s dance. She was elegant as a queen and seductive as a succubus. Her movements grabbed the hearts of every here, but only Owen started to worry in his heart.
‘What is that Essence that is coming off of her?’
As the Essence came closer to the Pathwalkers, the people in the front soon were breathing it as normal air. Owen watched as the Essence infected their bodies, turning from the impure colours filled with black spots. Seeing this Owen immediately grabbed Rauf who was happily watching the show. But before he could do anything he saw the instinctively felt a gaze watch over him and soon after a sound was heard within his mind.
“You can’t do that fellow Pathwalker. The Path is meant to be walked by those who can. I admire you for already being successful during your Blind Motion, you are absolutely not allowed to interfere in the other’s test.”
Owen calmly nodded and when Rauf looked at him in confusion he only gave a blunt response.
“She’s really good looking..”
‘You’re freaking blind what are you… ah forget it she is attractive.’
Ruaf wanted to retort but he felt like he lost energy when he thought of Owen’s personality.

A Fractal Divide
Lesivar is a city in ascendancy. With recent innovations in magical crafting, the common people are experiencing a boom in comfort and wealth. The nobility, long used to being the stewards of knowledge and power, struggle to adapt to the new world in which they find themselves. A precarious balance has been maintained throughout, but forces stir beneath the surface threatening to send the city spiraling into chaos. This is my first attempt at writing anything longer than a short story, and I welcome any feedback or corrections. I'm posting this as I write, with each chapter going live upon completion. My current pace is about a chapter a day, which I expect to take my through the end of November. From there, I'm shooting for a chapter every two-three days until the book is completed, along with an editing pass of what is already up. I'm planning on three POV characters with unique insight into the story as it unfolds. Each chapter will contain only one POV. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
