《Kinda Real Online》48. The Administrator

So the world went white, but we were all still there. Marcus, me, and the metal swarm thing. I couldn't see anything else, except whiteness. It kind of reminded me of all the movies with a heaven that's just white walls as far as you can see. Except, there were no walls. I'm not even sure there were floors, though when everything is the same color, it's kind of hard to tell. When I thought about moving to see if there was a floor, I realized I couldn't. I could feel my body, but when I tried to tell my leg to move, it didn't. The only things I could move were my eyes, and I suppose my lungs, and heart, and all those other things that need to move to keep me alive.
It was one of the strangest feelings. I wasn't sleeping, or numb, I just couldn't move. It was actually a bit scary. As I started to panic, I realized that the metal swarm was probably in the same situation I was. As I looked at it, I realized that whatever was freezing us was more than I thought. The lightning in the metal swarm was frozen. It was cool to look at. Almost like pictures of lightning, but the lightning was real. It felt like I had plenty of time to look around at everything, and it wasn't until I started to get bored that something else happened.
A little ball of light appeared in front of my face. It circled around me a couple times before it stopped in front of me again. Then it touched me, and I suddenly was able to move. I collapsed on the floor, which I could feel, but couldn't really see, and then the light spoke to me. It wasn't at all what I expected. The light's voice was almost like several voices speaking all at once, but they were all saying different things, and I couldn't understand any of it. Kind of like when you're standing in a crowd, and everyone is talking. You might hear some words you recognize, but it's hard to actually hear a conversation. Then there was a pop, and a single voice spoke. It was calm, and sounded like it should be narrating a nature video, but I could understand it, and it was kind of infurriating.

"Bwyd, you are no longer what you once were. You used the power of the administrators to become something that did not exist in your world. This was not the purpose of KRO. Due to this you will be removed from the system. As you are a living entity you will not be erased. Due to automatic systems you were given a pocket dimension with limited connection to the Network, this will remain under your control, but will be severed from any Network connection. You also allowed a malicious entity to enter the Network. Currently it is trapped in your dimension, and will remain there. You will be responsible for keeping it trapped as punishment for your misuse of the Network, and the administrators power."
"I'm pretty sure it was all an accident, and I don't think I can contain that." I looked at the metal swarm.
"That has been taken into consideration. If you had acted maliciously you would have been dealt with more severely. The hostile entity will be confined within your dimension, but it will be done with the system's power. You will only need to maintain the seal."
"Oh, ok."
I was starting to feel worried. How was I supposed to deal with a powerful creature that made metal fly, and shot lightning bolts? Especially if I didn't have the game system anymore. Would I still be able to use magic? Breathe fire? Would I still be a dragon? I was going to ask more questions, but everything went black.

The Lies They Told Me: Short stories from my life
Like many of my peers, I've discovered that life is not quite what I expected it to be. As I age, I've begun to find that many of the sayings and truths that my parents, authority figures, and friends have passed on to me were outright lies. Every person I know has been subject to the same interactions, which got me thinking, why not write a compilation of stores about my life experiences to date. I hope that this book will help all of us come to terms with the realities that we face today or deal with some of our deepest feelings about the past. Maybe these people lied to us and maybe they honestly believed the myriad of things they told us, but either way I think we can have a good laugh looking back and remembering the first times that we realized these things weren't true. I also hope that you can look back at the lies, or life lessons, that you've learned and can be inspried to own your stories and share them with others in a genuine way. Wiithout further ado, I hope that you enjoy the many short stories of my life that made me who I am today. These stories range from funny to down right surrel, so good luck on your journey!

Life sucks, and then you die. And then it gets worse. Pritchard was the only weeaboo at his Tennessee high school, and was little else, until the night before graduation. Just as he confesses to Sasha, the girl he's had a crush on for years, Pritchard dies in an act of God and finds himself in a fantastical new world with his crush, drawn into the service of the Dark Lord to purge all Good from the land. Of course, now he's a goblin. And a cleric. And Sasha's a half-orc barbarian. And by "drawn into the service of the Dark Lord" I mean Sasha was, and Pritchard just happened to be pulled along by accident. Sasha's actually a bit of a bitch, and doesn't care if Pritchard rots in the sand mines or not. But even for a goblin slave, things can get better. The Dark Lord was kind enough to give Pritchard a Hero Core, and Pritchard is nothing if not a minmaxing bastard.
8 108Blood of the Past
He awoke in a startled rush feeling as though it had been centuries since last he had opened his eyes, but alas, it had. His thoughts returned and he heard the screaming of his people and the great pain from the burning fires set against them. He was shunned and outcast along with the rest of his people, and the wars, the terrible wars fought because they could not understand. The Humans could not understand and would not understand him and his peoples true nature. He stood, his strength returning to him, as he did so the dust that had gathered on him fell to the floor. He looked around the cave which he hid in all those centuries ago and he found the way out. He made his way towards it, wanting to see the same as which he had when he entered, wilderness. He made it to the mouth of the cave and found it to be near midday, and he saw naught but wilderness. Save a lone tower far in the distance clearly overgrown and abandoned. His blood boiled as he stepped into the light and the harsh reality of him and his people rushed back into his mind. He would wait for night, and then he would move.
