《Kinda Real Online》23. Hello Light

The first thing I noticed when I opened my eyes was a very bright light, shinning directly in my eyes. I made a groaning noise and quickly closed my eyes again.
"You're awake." The voice was male, and sounded dull and bored. "Can you understand me, or is your mind already too far gone?"
"I'd understand you if you made sense."
"Good, what is your name?" I heard the sound of writing.
"You can call me Bwyd. What's your name? Where am I? What's with all..."
"Silence! I ask the questions here. You are an unknown creature, so until we know what you are, you will be treated with suspicion." His voice became harsh, all traces of boredom lost.
I thought about saying something, but he did say silence, so I just waited. Well, I didn't just wait, I also tried to move a little, and found that my hands and feet were attached to the chair I was sitting in. It felt like they were leather bindings, and the chair was probably metal. I also tried to move the chair by pushing with my feet on the floor, but the chair was connected to the floor.
I also tried to open my eyes again. The light was still there, but with some squinting, I was able to see that it wasn't too bright. Just uncomfortably bright, and aim directly at me. It reminded me of old spy movies when they interrogated people with the bright light shinning at them so they couldn't recognize the interrogators. I was starting to get a little nervous. I didn't think the game was supposed to have scenes that were this stressful. You got to have the heroic adventures, or villianous, but torture was something that wasn't possible. You'd get banned.
"Where do you come from?" The voice was calm again.
"Um, that's kind of complicated."
"Answer the question." The voice was getting angry.
"Well, I was in the sewers until I got caught in a trap and then I started falling..."
"Enough. If you won't take the questions seriously then I have no time for you. Oshac, she's all yours."

When he said that, I saw a massive form block the light. It kind of reminded me of Bjorn, but it was not reasuring. It was very threatening. As he got closer I could see that it was basically a human body builder on steroids. Or at least he had that appearance. For all I knew, he could have been a god, or maybe muscles naturally get that big here, or any number of fantasy reasons for massively bulging muscles.
The main point is a very strong looking man was moving closer to me, and I was pretty sure I was in an interrogation. Still confident that the game wouldn't allow torture, I waited. On a positive note, he was blocking the light, so I wasn't blinded anymore.
"Little girl, you will tell me what I want, or you will hurt very much." His voice didn't have any crazy accent, and it was actually gentle. It almost sounded like he didn't want to hurt me. Which I really appreciated. I didn't want him to hurt me either.
"That works for me." My voice almost came out as a squeak.
"Ha, do not worry little girl. I only hurt bad people. You are not a bad person, are you?"
"N-no!"
"Good, good, then tell me little girl, why come here?"
"I fell in a trap," he started a low growl, "I'm not even sure where here is, I saw the lights and tried to get here, because it wasn't dark. It was so quiet and dark out there, and then there were zombies, and, oh." I felt a warm relieving sensation and realized I just peed.
"Do not stop now little girl, you were speaking so much. I want to hear more." He put his hand on my arm.
"I peed." I barely even whispered as my eyes started to water.
"What? Speak up."
I stared straight into his eyes, "I peed. I hope you're happy, you're so scary you cause little girls to pee all over themselves. They can't let you near any children, can they? They all just run away from the big scary evil man, and all you do is say I won't hurt you if you do what I want. That's why you..."

He pushed his thumb on the spot I was bitten by the zombie and pain shot up my arm. So much pain that I stopped talking and my vision went blurry as tears flowed freely. After he released the pressure, he grabbed both arms of the chair and put his face inches away from mine.
"You do not speak of me that way. You know nothing about me, or my children. You have no right to slander me." He was angry, and if my face wasn't already wet from tears it would have been soaked from his spit.
"And you don't know anyting about me. I just want to go home, and never see your stupid city again." I thought about logging out, but decided to see where this was going.
He glared at me for a moment, then straighted up and undid my bindings. He then walked away, without saying a word, and turned off the bright light. There were other lights in the room that turned on when he turned off the big one, but they all seemed to be some kind of crystal that glowed. Very brightly. The other lights were covered by some kind of filter that made it more bearable.
Oshac walked to the door opened it and held it open, "If you want to change you clothing, come with me."
I hesitated a moment, then figured I didn't have anything to lose. I had already peed myself, after all. So I followed him. He took me through a stone hallway lined with more glowing crystals and the occasional door. It almost seemed like the doors were placed at random. They were not evenly spaced.
Eventually we got to the end of the hallway, blocked by a thick metal door, and he pulled out a ring of keys and unlocked it. The other side was a larger stone hallway, and there were several people in similar clothes to Oshac. Though none were quit as big. They did have weapons, mostly swords, but there were a few axes, or polearms. When I stepped through the door, all conversations stopped and they all stared at me.
"What is she doing here?" I recognized the bored voice from before. It belonged to a very plain looking man, who also happened to be the only one not in uniform.
"I questioned her, and determined that she is neither an agent of Haka, or one of the dead. Now I will treat her with the decency that living creatures deserve."
I wasn't sure how to feel about his declaration. Just a few moments ago he was torturing me, but now he was defending me.
"You cannot just decide that on your own. There are procedures. The doctors have not had a chance to examine her, and until we have their verdict we cannot be sure that she isn't turning. Besides, I have never heard of a normal person with purple blood. Not to mention the interogation procedure. I also spoke with her, and I determined her behavior to be suspicious. I demand you lock her back in her cell."
Oshac crossed his arms, "It has been three hours since she was brought here. If she was turning, we would see the signs, and the only reason she was suspicious is becuase she has no idea what is going on."
"She could have charmed you. We all know that once a normal person is bitten by the dead, they must either be immediately purified, or she will succumb to the curse. She was not purified, so it is only a matter of time before she changes, and when she does it will cause a plague in the city."
Several of the others in the room started nodding, and some of them spoke up, "She could be turning into a high ranked undead. Some of them have charm abilities."
"Maybe that's why her blood was purple."
"Quick, someone call the templars."
"Silence! This is ridiculus. I have no intention of letting her walk around without an escort. She just needs a change of clothes, and a shower. You, and you, come with me. We will not even leave the barracks."
