《The undead who yearned for life》5-The day my world crumbled

Jack point of view
In that moment, everything changed, it was like seeing the world again for the first time, even the colours became a mixture of white, black and gray; my head began to ache and everything began to spin.
When I finally was able to stand, I found myself able to look at even the tiniest details of the room.
After two minutes I could tune my eyesight to what I wanted to look again, no need to see as if through a microscope all the time, right? Now, the real question is: what I'm going to do? The organization behind Elize is nothing to scoff at, and I'm probably already in their scope.
Well, for now is better to escape from here, take my money, my sister and disappear to some little island for the rest of our lives... it's incredible of much money one can do with the title, they're enough to last me for three or four very luxurious lifetimes.
Leaving the hospital in this chaos is extremely simple, I even had the time to change in my normal clothes and retrieve my possessions; the only thing I can't understand is: what the fuck is this black string attached to people's heads? No matter what I do to them, they can't be touched (I tried this on a little kid, faking it with a pat).
They're of different dimensions (it seems it increases from as thin as a string to the size of a rope with age), and most of those strings disappear in the same direction.
Whatever, it probably has something to do with what happened during today surgery, I only hope it's not a virus or something like that; while observing all of that, I reached my third ATM, though I have a secret bank account, I see no reason to leave my money behind; now the last thing to do is to-

*bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*
Ah, my smartphone was still in silent mode... well, better like this, my sister called me at the right moment, we need to escape from japan.
-Onii-chan, where are you? no, it's not important, I need you to come at our usual meeting spot right now, I know you can do it if you run, it's very important-.
What is my sister saying? Now it's not the moment for this kind of thing: -no, Julia, listen to me, we need to escape from here, I did something that can't be undone and someone is probably on my tail as we speak-.
-I know onii-chan, but even with that, this is more important, if you don't come here right now, you'll not be able to see me ever again-.
Damn it, I need to run, fortunately I'm at only ten minutes from there, it seems that they, whoever they may be, have already taken my sister, if not how could she know? In case that worse come to worst, I'll try appealing to them and offer my help to that organization, they don't have any proof that it was me whom killed Elise, her regeneration continued even after her death for short time, thereby eliminating all evidence... to other doctors, it would seems an heart attack as the only possible explanation.
-How many are there, did they hurt you?- I asked my sister, if they hurt her, I would make them pay the price for it in a later date, that's for sure; I'm already in sight of our usual place, just behind the corner.
-You don't understand onii-chan, this is the place where I can create the most ripples, and the only way to do it is by meeting you here... you know onii-chan? From that day when our parents died, you gave me the strength to continue to live... now is my turn to give you a push-.

I was still on the other side of the park, but I could still see everything clearly: the other side of the string connected to my sister was attached to a man who was running in her direction with a knife in his hands; before I could even move he had already reached her, thrusting that knife in my sister's heart and escaping afterwards, while the string dissolved in the air.
-AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH, WHY GOD? SHE NEVER DID ANYTHING BAD, IF SOMEONE HAD TO DIE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME!!!!- .
I runned over to my sister side, but even I could do nothing about this kind of injury, even if we were inside the hospital, however Julia still had a breath: -don't cry onii-chan, because I already cried enough for the both of us, you need to remember what happened, I'm sure I died for a reason, even if I can't tell why, the ripples... finally....... spreaded-.
I stayed at my sister side for the next ten minutes without doing anything, what could I do now? And even if there was something to do, why should I do it? I spent the next two hours making a grave near the lake of this park, we always said jokingly that if one day, me or she would've died, that this place was perfect in order to rest for an eternity.
-Just wait, I don't know who they are or what they are, but I'll bring them all down-.
This is my promise on my sister grave.

Soldier First
Soldier First will be shifting to a monthly update schedule while I work out some kinks in the plot. BRS Limited is looking for answers after the genius programmer behind a radical new biotechnology goes on the run with their intellectual property. After an awkward period of amnesia during a mission in Africa, Butcher is looking for answers of his own. So he reluctantly agrees to let the enigmatic company use him as a test subject while he tracks down the mind behind the technology. Butcher doesn't really understand this talk of "stats", "skills" and "classes", though, and the deeper her digs, the stranger things become. Because even as Butcher changes, he realizes that the world around him is also changing in ways that only he can see, but which could have terrifying consequences for the whole planet. This story is a work in progress and subject to frequent revisions.

Vanilla
A plain RPG based off a classic 'reincarnation-into-another-world' series of events. Nothing original, I assure you. ---- Shiro Hayuata was killed and is now reincarnated into another world, [insert ridiculously obvious hypothetical question here].

To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!

A Wheel Inside a Wheel
Two brilliant young me, Reinhard von Musel and Yang Wen-li, are forced to flee the countries of their birth and become refugees on opposite sides of a century long galactic war. While they both struggle to adapt to their new lives, their obvious talent propels them to the forefront of the war. Their choices will shape their adoptive homelands forever, and their clash will decide the future of the galaxy. This story is broken up into volumes, each following one half of the conflict. You can read them in chronological order, or you can follow just Yang or Reinhard. See individual descriptions below. Part One - Speaking in Tongues When Yang Wen-li’s father dies, the only thing that he inherits is a mountain of debt, which can only be paid off with fifteen years of his life. Wanting to escape that indentured servitude, Yang flees his homeland and takes up a false identity in the Galactic Empire, a hyper-stratified society where stepping out of line is punishable with imprisonment or death. Yang enrolls in the Imperial Officers’ Academy to study history, but despite his unusual and unmistakeable talent as both a tactician and a scholar, his classmates resent him for being a visible outsider. When tensions at the school boil over and several of Yang’s classmates attempt to murder him, Yang finds an unlikely ally in the top student in the class: the aloof Oskar von Reuenthal. But Reuenthal and Yang both have secrets, secrets which could destroy both their lives and their newfound friendship. [77k words, complete] Part Two - Life out of Balance When Reinhard von Musel's mother learns that her husband is about to sell her daughter to become the concubine of the Kaiser, she takes her two children, Reinhard and Annerose, and flees to the Free Planets Alliance, where the three of them must start a new life. [129k words, complete] Part Three - Servants of the Pharaoh Now an officer in His Majesty's fleet, Yang Wen-li struggles to maintain his principles in the face of everything that is expected of him. When he's unwillingly drawn into the politics of the court, he has to use all of his talents to keep himself and his new friends out of danger. [173k words, complete] Short - Whatever It Takes to Keep the Body Warm After their falling out, Reuenthal and Mittermeyer are both posted to the brutal wasteland of Capche-Lanka. Separated from everyone he cares about, Reinhard is forced to make some unexpected allies, and make connections with old friends. City of Roses
Jo Maguire, a highly strung, underemployed telemarketer, meets Ysabel, a princess of unspecified pedigree, and unexpectedly becomes her guardian and caretaker. Now Jo must make a place for herself among Ysabel's decidedly unusual family and friends—which calls for a bit more sword-play than most of us are used to—in a city where sinister high-rise condos are fought by a sprawling tea-house built out of scrap lumber, where ancient sea-gods retire to close-in Southeast apartments with lovely views, where duels take place in supermarkets, and the Devil keeps a morgue in an abandoned big-box store.
