Chapter 10 – The End
oOo
The dead forest was very vast, and monsters in here are very unnatural if I say so myself. I encountered a lot of monster, and because of my poison, they didn’t have much chance of winning. This gave me a lot of experience and it also made my skills stronger. Because I didn’t have the appraisal skill I don’t know what the names of the monster that I’ve encountered *like seriously when will I get the appraisal skill? Shhheessshh!! Making up names for this ugly ass monster is tiresome.*
First I encountered a pack of Demon Wolves, has a thin body with long legs, a red fur with lines coming from its snot to the tail. Black hollowed eyes, sharp claws and teeth, and three horns. There were a total of six of them, they’re fast, but they only manage to damage my rock armor. I cannot catch up with their speed, but I got them when I modified my armor to be much sharper and covered it with poison. It was just easy, I just let them attack me and let the poison do the killing.
Then I encountered the Draco Ground Snake, it was a lot bigger than the one I’ve eaten. When I look closely to it, it really looks similar to a dragon but has a snake body, its scales where made out of rough rocks, has large pair of fangs. It first tried to spit some poison on me, but it has no effect. *not even 1 point of damage -_-* But compared to the demonic wolves it was much faster, then it coils around me, and tries to crush me with brute force. I was deprived of my movements, so I used my [Toxic Mucus] reinforced with my poisons.
It did take a while, but then it slowly released me and even tried to run away. I impaled its body with rock spears; I didn’t expect that the paralysis will affect it. *but it somehow did, a little I guess* bones were starting to show out from its body as it’s rock armor was slowly falling one at a time, it no longer moves. So I start to devour it.
After I ate, I made a burrow using [Eragal Magic]. I hardened the walls and the cover so that it wouldn’t collapse on me, then I sleep for a bit.
oOo
*boom* *crrrkk* *boom* *ccrrrk*
I woke up because the ground was shaking and the loud noise hurts my lizard ears. I opened a hole on my burrow, and looked around. Nothing was there, not even my [Threat Sentient] was giving me alarm. *it must be far from here, but what could it be?*
Cannot bring myself back to sleep, I got up to the ground and looking at my burrow for a second, an idea came into my mind. I made the burrow much deeper and bigger. It’s maybe about 15 square meters *I think*, then I filled the bottom with spikes that were covered with poison, after that I covered it with a very thin sheet of hard soil.

I leave my trap, and continued to roam around. I always put the same trap if there was enough space to the ground; I think this will be a great way to catch some food. I wonder if I’ll get experience points from killing a monster indirectly.
After killing more rats, snakes and wolves, I found something interesting. It was a very old tomb, the door was made of rock, so I tried to open it, but it didn’t even budge. The whole place was covered with engraving that I can’t understand. I tried to open the door forcefully with my tale, but only a notification came out.
|You cannot open the door to the next level. You need to defeat first the boss of this floor.|
So I’m really inside a dungeon huh. If this is the entrance to the next floor, there should be a way up to the upper floor. I better find it, leaving the tomb behind, I also leave some small statue pointing to the direction of the tomb, and it would be helpful to find it again.
Continuing straight ahead, it was about 2 kilometer and I found the edge of the dungeon. Being so curious if I can destroy the stone wall, I hit it with my tail, but it didn’t even made a scratch. I tried hitting it another time, but a screen greeted me. But I cannot read it.
[WARNING! ! !]
*shit* not now, loud footsteps were coming closer and closer to me. I can also hear trees being smashed. I quickly run to the side, along side the dungeon walls.
*TUUUDDD*
I looked back and the monster hit the wall, smoke of dust was covering its appearance. But I can see 2 pair of bright red glowing eyes looking at me. I prepared 20 rock spears in front of me and spit on the tip with poison. The cloud of dirt was starting to clear up, but I quickly sent half of the spear to it.
When the cloud of smoke cleared up completely, the spear pierced it body, but it wasn’t deep enough. The monster was a very large bear, have four glowing red eyes, two large horns from the side of the head, a very dark fur. Its fur where like black needles, and then it randomly swings its arm at me. I quickly leaped far back using my tail.
A bunch of needles got pinned on the ground. I sent my remaining spears, but it just took it. I was sure that the poison should take care of it, but I was wrong. Its fur was so thick and hard, and it somehow had a characteristic to resist liquid, because I saw my poisons dropped to the ground. *it’s like a water proof material* I don’t know how it works, but it has a perfect defense for my poison, the only way to defeat it will be the holes on its body. *eyes, nose, ears etc.*

The needle bear starts to run toward me, while shooting black needles at the same time. I created a thick rock wall to defend from the needles, and move to the side. The bear smashed through the wall with ease, and its black fur started to glow.
*I don’t know what it is but it looks dangerous* I quickly spit at him, and create another rock wall.
*BOOM*
The rock wall was smashed into pieces as some small rocks flew to the surrounding. Electricity was now flowing on the bear’s fur, as sparks starts to strike the nearby trees and created a fire, * It even looks cool, to be honest, I want one LOL*.
*CCCRRRKKKSSSS*
The bear shoots a bolt of lightning to my direction.
It was so fast and I can’t even react that fast enough, I tried to dodge it but it still hits my body.
I received a little damage as my stone armor was destroyed by the powerful lightning attack.
*boom* *boom* *boom*
A barrage or attacks were coming. Creating multiple walls were not very effective as they were destroyed in an instant, I create another batch of walls while running fast. *this is the only thing I can think of right now.*
*crrrkkk* BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*
It was raining lightning all around me, dodging left and right. Each hit destroys my rock armor, thanks to my armor the damage to my health was not that high.
After gaining some distance, I turned around and look at the pursuing black bear. I start to shoot small rock at it, to slow it down while creating a hidden pit hole behind me. The bear begins to run so fast, it wants to rum me, while charging electricity to its fur. I made the hole deeper as much as I can; I also start to produce mucus beneath my feet and in front of me.
When the bear was about one and a half meter from me, I quickly jumped to the back using my tail. The black bear also jumped to catch me, but the mucus from its feet reduces the power of its jump. I was about to spit a mouthful of poison, but it blocked its head with its arms. Rotating my body forward, I made the tip of my tail a lot bigger using [Armor Modification], it was like a huge club, and with the force of my rotation and tail, I hammered down the blocking bear.
*crack* *crash*
The rock on the tip of my tail got destroyed, and some needles torn the flesh of my tail, but it was not a problem as the bear plummet down to the hidden hole.
*BOOM*
It crashed down to the bottom.
I was not about to make it to the other side, but I quickly extended the ground from the other side and made a platform. Without waiting for the bear to recover, I start producing poison and let it flow to the bear that was stuck at the bottom.
Regaining its consciousness, the bear start producing electricity but nothing was happening. It also tried climbing the walls, but he cannot do such a thing. The poison was almost reaching half of its body, the black bear starts to produce electricity none stop but there was nothing it could do.
From the continuous use of electricity, the poison was heating up and it started to boil. A thick purple smoke starts to rise from the pit, but it also slowly disappear.
The bear was also dead, because of the deadly smoke from the heated poison.
|Leveled up five times from killing the Guardian Bear.|
*hmmm maybe it was the guardian of the dungeon wall, and the notification that came out was a warning or something?*
*HHHAAAA!! Finally it was all over*
I start to regenerate my armor back to normal while raising the ground from the hole.
The black bear’s half body was covered with a solidified poison, and it was also smelled like a pouched meat with deadly poison sauce. *yum ^^ LOL*
Figuring out how to eat this bear, the upper body was raw and I can’t even cut through because the fur was so strong, but thanks for the hot liquid when it died, the lower part was a bit tender. I start to cut the belly using my claw; it took me ten attempts to successfully cut through the meat. I then start eating, and carefully bite the fur from the inside because it’s much safer.
*nom* *nom* *nom*

Midara: Requiem
"When the alternative is extinction, all acts, no matter how heinous, are permitted." The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). Once upon a time, I dreamed of the setting being the next Final Fantasy. Long story short: Nope. Requiem itself is meant to be an Open-World RPG which adapts to the choices of the player. This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.
