...
……You have leveled up X1
Looking into the dungeon from the 3rd person view, i could see my minions wandering around like drones, still better than no defence. The only ironic thing is that once in awhile they would fall for the traps themselves and die. In this 3rd person view, i could see everyone’s health bar it was rather different watching the game move along as a dungeon instead of a player. The worse part, it is boring as hell. They did warn me when i selected to be dungeon though. Bored, i started playing a minigame provided by the company for dungeon players. They called it .
~~~~~
What basically happens is that there is a marked mouse running around in the dungeon and you are supposed to find it. As the mouse dashes about the dungeon, you are supposed to change the dungeon to push the mouse into the boss room. They do not get caught in traps and would run about until caught. You get exp for the time and effort you take to do so. The game continues to 2 marked mouse and continues to double each level. Some players tried to cheat by changing it to just have 1 room. That plan worked well or so they thought. Because there was no difficulty in that, they doubled until the entire room was filled. And that is when the problems start arriving. Ever seen mouse infestation? A mad rush of mouse leaving the dungeon meant a big NPC squad of exterminator came and clear out the mouse. In the meantime, you can stop the minigame but there is nothing you can do about the mouse. You can’t even change the layout of your dungeon. When they arrive and clear out your dungeon of the mouse, you lose 2 levels as you have been conquered by the NPC. also you will gain infamy depending on the number of mouse they exterminated.
~~~~~~
After chasing the mouse through my dungeon for about a minute or so a prompt came up.
You have captured a Marked Mouse minion.
That was interesting. It came to a surprise that the mouse can be captured as well. That really spurred my effort to catch as many as possible. Free minion, why would i not be happy. I have too many minions dying to my own traps.
*The first NPC Party has entered your dungeon.*
Leader “ This Dungeon was not here the last time i made a patrol in this area. Daniel, head back to town and inform them of the discovery. The rest of us head in and check out what kind of dungeon it is.”
A chorus of “Yes sir!” sprang by and one soldier left to make the report.
“Alice check for traps you know the drill. Violet watch our six. Dave you lead the front and for god sake Leeroy stop eating chicken already.”
“What? I am hungry”
“You are always hungry.it is a miracle that you are not fat.”
“Fine let me finish this chicken first.”
“Make it quick”
5 minutes into the dungeon. Leeroy starts complaining again.
“Guys, do you smell that sweet scent? It is making me hungry again.it smells like chicken stew with a tinge of orange and cinnamon.”
“Alice what do you smell? It smells like fresh toasted bread to me”
“It smells like moon rose to me. Are you thinking what i am thinking?”
“Looks like we are on the same wavelength once again.”
“I will head up front to confirm if it is the Flower of Fragrance.”
“Go.”
From the back, Violet’s face was all red. If anyone would turn around and see. It smelled like her husband.
One moment later Alice rushes back excitedly.
“Jace! This place is a jackpot! There is 3 kinds of herbs here as well! Healing sleep and paralysis this place will be a good place to harvest them.”
“That looks to be the case. As long as the cave do not evolve too much we may just send villagers here to regularly harvest them. These items are always in demand by the apothecary for the healing potion, sleep potion, awakening potion, the paralysis and anti paralysis potion.”
“Ok ok I get it. You do not have to machine gun everything. Also jace, stop it with those eyes. Everytime there is big money to earn your eyes are so wide that I can see coins in them. If I have not known better I would have thought they are made of coins.”

“Well, at least I am not like Leeroy, wait where is he? Shit not again. LEEROY!!!!!”
~~~ silence ~~~
Seriously. If not for his nose for danger and his exorbitant amount of luck I would not have him in the party. Battle formation people.”
~~~~
Somewhere is the 2nd last room, an idiot lays sleeping before a bed of eternal sleep.
His feet laying half a step on a pitfall.
~~~~
Jace, is it just me or is there no monsters at all?
Violet, what does detect say?
No hot bodies other than us in the 10m radius. There seem to be some snakes, frogs and plenty of bugs roaming about.
“No leeroy in 10m then. Lets speed up. Keep using detect when mana interference is over”
(mana interference is NPC version of cooldown.)
“Roger that.”
“Just where is that idiot”
~~~~~
Munching on my popcorns, I watched as they made the slow move towards Leeroy. One thing about being a dungeon, you get free flow of randomly flavored popcorn and 1 type of soft drink. The rest cost real world cash.
*munch munch*
*blurgh* booger flavor
*munch munch munch*
*You gained 10% increase in exp for the next 10 minutes*
*munch munch munch*
Thanks to Dagon, a new saying came to the dungeon players.
~~~~~
“I sense multiples heading towards a lying hot body”
“Dave use Charge and dash in. Alice Sneak in and rescue him.”
a minion has died
a minion has died
a minion has died
I can only watch in irony as the minions died. No exp if not killed by me.
Helplessly I watch as my once loved drones died they did no damage and only hindered the NPC Party.
a minion has died
“I got Leeroy and some of those Eternal Sleep. Gather around me, i am using the portal scroll. Forget about the exploration he needs the healers.”
a minion has died
With that, a flash of light and a prompt came up
The Exiled Villainess Returns
(Please heed the warnings above before reading) Reborn into the beautiful but deadly world of Ethetia, she comes to a sudden awareness that she is now Livia Katrina Valentine, a character of a game of a reverse harem she once played on Earth called Aster Academy: The Feuding Houses. But this revelation comes a bit too late. You see, Livia wasn't just anyone. She was not given the anonymity of being a background character, or even the blessing of being the heroine. Instead, she has bestowed the role of being the atrocious villainess. And that is exactly what she had been. As a result, Livia triggers her own death flag event at her debutante. Her memories of her past life have the grace to come only minutes before she is accused of poisoning the heroine, Amelia. But all is not helpless. Via last-minute intervention, Livia successfully manages to avoid having her head decapitated. Being exiled was a small price to pay for retaining a pulse. Plus, at least this way, Livia can finally start to live her life, to become more than just a cruel folly. Her exile should have been a new but unusual beginning to her story. But pitiless reality comes knocking. Ethetia had once only been a background setting in a game. A pretty and still picture that mostly went disregarded as the even prettier characters on the screen unloaded their dialogue, but now, it was Livia's world. As real and wonderous as planet Earth once had been, filled with small creatures with their own wills, ambitions, and needs. Such one creature decides that exile was not enough of a penalty. That Livia, the bullish and jealous tormentor of the heroine, deserves a fate more befitting of her past deeds. One worst than death. Livia's fate is ripped out of her hands. She is forced into a collar, sold to an empire rotten with greed, and placed inside a harem where she is expected to wither and die from the inside out. But Livia refuses to be forgotten. Burning with a deep rage against those who only wish to see her fall into her own grave, Livia makes a twisted promise to herself. A promise that pushes her through the darkest moments of her life and brings to light a newfound power rooted deep inside her. So keen to discard her as the villain she has once been, the little creatures in their own ignorance brought forth something they could never dream to fathom. A beacon of darkness.
Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
