I woke like normal then ate. I then went to my eldest brothers room.

“Brother?”

“Yes Gilbert?”

“Can you teach me a stronger Healing spell for permanent damage?”

He turns around and lifts his right eyebrow.

“Why do you need to learn that?”

“Well its better to learn it now rather then learning it later.”

“Well I could tell you the spell for it but You will lose what you heal since its a permanent damage your healing.”

“Give me your knife”

My brother hands it over I put my hand on the table and prepare myself. I bring the knife While my brother looks at me with a weird face. He has seen me cut my own hand a couple of times to show how fast I heal. I curl my toes and bring the knife down as hard as I can cutting off my pinky and the finger beside it on my left hand. My Brother sees the digits fly off and his eyes widen to a huge degree. He doesn't say anything he is too shocked. I hold my wrist and point my hand towards the ceiling. Blood flows down my hand. I take deep uneven breaths to try and focus. After calming myself down I again look at my hand. Very slowly if your watching you can see it growing back.

“Gilbert are you sure your not the child of a troll?” (Trololololol)

“Yes I'm sure, because then mom would have had to left town and she never has has she?”

“I guess your right, but If you grow over 6'2” then I'll keep calling you a troll.”

Fuck I'm supposed to grow to be 6'6”.

“Anyways can you teach me a spell to fix permanent damage?”

“I'll give you the incantation next week when I go back to the church to do a sermon ok?”

“Sounds great!”

I went to my mother after cutting my fingers and asked her a question using cute child tactics!

“Can I have some money mommy?”

“Sure Dear how much do you need?”

“Can I have 103 copper coins?”

She gave me a weird look

“What for?”

“Secret!”

“Okay...”

She then counted some coins and put them into a bag and handed them to me.

“Thanks Mom! I love you”

She smiled and I then left the house. The second she couldn't see my face it returned to its normal frown. My hand in the mean time was still throbbing even after 30 minutes when it takes to 500 seconds heal all the damage I could possibly take. Must be that my healing rate of permanent damage is way slower. I then headed towards Mary's house. I got to the right district when I saw Mary.

“Hey Mary!”

“G..Gilbert?”

One stutter instead of two nice improvement.

“Hello, can you lead me to your house I need to pay your brother”

“S...sure thing he said he has felt much better since yesterday.”

She then leads me back to her house through the last stretch of the slums. We enter her house and her brother is sitting on his bed eating breakfast.

“Hey Mark here is this weeks pay in advance”

I put the 103 coppers my mother gave me and the 2 I got yesterday. I had recounted the copper coins as soon as I got out of the house. I didn't want to be a shitty employer and short shaft my only employe. His Eyes stared big at the coins. Most likely he had never owned that much coins in his entire life.

“It will only takes 4 days to finish a mask”

“Well I wanted 2 One with red and black and one with white and black. Plus I want you to paint it as well.”

“Okay. The paint will cost 50 copper. What colour do you want the rest of the mask to be?”

“I want the one that is red and black to be covered in white on the rest of it and the other I want in red.”

“okay so we only need 3 colours. It will probably take 3 days to finish as they need multiple coats of paint.”

“So I need 95 more copper after 7 days right?”

“Yup”

“Okay see you later”

Shit where am I going to get 95 copper in 7 days? Well I'll practise healing then. When I sat down by the well some adults came over to me.

“Kid are you the one that has been healing people?”

“Yes?”

“Can you help us then?”

“Sure”

believing in the goodness of people I followed them. Eventually we went up to a young child who had a completely crushed hand. The flesh was contorted and blood was freely seeping out. I could still make the fingers however. It seems that the pain had most likely knocked him out as he was laying on the ground.

“What happened to him?”

A burly man who was crying nearby started talking with breaking his speech.

“My son wanted to tell me that breakfast was ready. But since I was pounding away at the anvil I didn't hear him at all. Now he has no future! He needs his hand if ever wants to get a job! Not only that but no women will marry a handicapped man unless they are royalty.”

I didn't say anything to this. I simply walked up to the boy and used healing. He was around 4-5 So after using one heal and taking 200 damage the wound for the most part was well put back together. I then shook him awake. He got up and his dad hugged him. His hand looked normal. It seems that if You fix the damage early you can prevent the damage from becoming permanent. Which kind of makes sense. The Blacksmith then looked at me.

“How can we repay you?”

I simply shrugged my shoulders and started walking away. If I asked for a reward my reputation would be less then If I hadn't requested one. Why did I want rep? I wanted rep because then nobles would be more likely to look for me and request healing. Before I got to far away however the blacksmith chased after me. He was holding what appeared to be a sword. Upon seeing it my eyes went down. I had no need for a sword. I was planning on being a support type unit making a sword a bad choice of a weapon.

“Wait up boy!”

I stopped no point in running he could easily find out who I was not only that but he could most likely easily outrun me. The blacksmith then stopped in front of me, when I turned around. He took something out of his shirt and threw it to me. I caught it. It was a coin that was silver in colour.

“Their is a silver coin in case you don't know one silver coin is worth 100 copper coins”

He then points to a sword that is wrapped in cloth.

“The sword I have here is cursed I was wondering if you a white mage could purify the sword for me. I got this sword from my brother who took it off an enemy commander after his commander defeated him. The sword before hand was known as cursed so my brother wrapped it up and sent it to me. It is said the wielder of the sword will become possessed.”

I didn't say anything but I grabbed the sword and gently took it from his hands. I then went home. I had much to think about. I put the sword in my bottom drawer and spent the rest of the day practising spirit sense.
