Writer’s spot: Greetings, friends! Our first look upon the new world!
SO, here we have our main character first appearance on his new (And ridiculously weak) body, on an unknown world and a completely oblivious goddess as an aide. What could possibly go wrong?
BESIDES, from now on I should keep updating this daily until I go back to updating Insania. Exceptions on heavy classes day, of course, but nothing unlike what I did before.
BESIDES(II), I know a bit about computed, but nothing too big, so if there is something wrong with any computer/robotic term used in here, NOT MY FAULT! AUTHOR’S RIGHT!
Enjoy your story!

Gaz felt a bit light headed, and was almost sure that he had seen some kind of strange window just like the one from when he installed something new in his computer, but he couldn’t be quite sure, since he was far from in his best state of mind at the moment.
Luckily, he was quite a quick one to wake up. He could take his time to leave the bed, but that was more because he was simply lazy instead of slow.
Thus it didn’t take him longer than ten seconds to notice that something was very wrong with his body. And by very wrong, it meant VERY wrong.
He couldn’t feel his legs at all. Then, neither could he feel his arm. Nor torso. Nor head. Nor hair. Not that he could feel his hair on other occasions, but that is not what matters here, right?
Because, even though he couldn’t feel all his humanly limbs, it didn’t mean that he couldn’t feel his body at all, because he could, and that is what scared him. This body he felt was strange, to say the very least. It wasn’t one with four limbs like he was used, being instead much simpler. A simple spherical body within a pair of even bigger half-spheres. No limbs, no head, nor anything. Simply that.
It was weird, it was bizarre and it was something that didn’t make any sense. However, it was his body and he knew this. There were many bodies like that out there, but this one was his.
He opened his eyes in one of the most bizarre sensations of his life, as the two semi-spheres that he had no idea what they were separated themselves, showing him the scene in front of him with a whole new way of looking around.
He could see some kind of Heads up display around his vision, with numbers and images he had never seen before, and whenever he looked at something in particular, a small bar would appear and slowly fill itself, as if scanning whatever it was that he was looking at.
And the things he was looking at, were nothing else than trees. Trees, grass, flowers and leaves of some unknown forest he had never seen in his whole life. And these things were so big and massive that he couldn’t even fathom how high the shortest tree could get to.
Being a normal and fairly sane person, Gaz did what every normal person would have done in his situation, finding himself in a strange place with an even stranger body that felt TOO familiar and TOO strange at the same time.
[WAAAAAAAAH!]
He panicked and started running a figure eight while shouting. Well, shouting in his mind, since there wasn’t any mouth in his new body.
Fairly common stuff, if you ask me.
[GEEEZ, CALM DOWN! My processor is burning with all that shouting!] He heard a strangely familiar voice speaking to him.
[Wuzzat?] He asked surprised while turning around, looking for the source of the voice, but he couldn’t see anybody nearby.
[I said that all that shouting was making my processor overheat… WAIT! You can hear me?] The voice suddenly sounded so cheerful that it made poor Gaz look confused.
[Err… Yes?] He said confused. [Why wouldn’t I…] As he tried to understand what was happening, it slowly came back to him. [Wait! You are that goddess!] He said surprised. [Then… Does this mean that… This is my new body?] He asked confused.
[I’m… Sorry…] She said a bit downhearted, which left the poor Gaz flustered. [This was all that I could put up with my power for now…]
[Well, I’m alive at least, so it’s good!] he said in a cheerful tone trying to cheer her up.
[…Yeah. At least that still works fine.] She agreed with him. [But, it’s not all that bad, actually!] She cheered up a bit. [I mean, you may be unable to regenerate your own equipment, but you have a program and body capable of adapting to any other equipment you find around! No matter what kind of robot it is!] She said cheerfully.
Gaz would have blinked here if he was still back into his human body.
[Then, basically I can upgrade myself by defeating stronger enemies?] He said surprised, and he could almost feel a nod from the goddess. [I see…] He said nodding. [Then, what do I have besides that?]
[Oh! Let me see…] She suddenly went silent for a moment. [Oh! I can assess your subsystems!] She suddenly said surprised, and as she did that, suddenly, in a corner of his vision a small line of text appeared, followed by the familiar Wi-fi symbol he knew.
No_name: Sub-system access.
[…We really need to find you a name.] He said while looking at the words. [But what exactly does that mea…] Before he could even finish, an image popped up in front of him.
It showed what looked to be some kind of robot, with a metallic white spherical body that split itself in the middle, revealing a smaller body within, with a huge camera protected by a blue glass. Besides that, the robot didn’t really have anything that looked too eye-catching. He had no doubt that what he was looking at the moment was his body, but as he looked.

[Oh! Here they are!] The goddess said cheerfully, making a couple of videos popping up in his vision.
One showed him how the robot moved around, spinning the outer-shell like a pair of over-sized wheels. It took him almost a few seconds to notice that he had been doing exactly that while running around, yet he didn’t even notice. Voicing his doubt to her, she quickly answered.
[I made it so that it would feel as intuitive as possible for you to move around your body!] She said.
Gaz nodded, moving his core up and down for a moment before turning his attention towards the other videos that popped up. One of them showed him some kind of flexible cable he could use as a grappling tool, but it looked too feeble to be of any other use than to make some delicate work. At least it had a welding tool and some kind of universal screwdriver imbued on its tip, probably so he could dismantle parts and so on.
Moreover, in the final video was some kind of sonar-like vision that he could use while closing himself within the more resistant outer shell. This made so that he could still see where he was going even when closing himself, but the vision range was too limited, so it wasn’t exactly recommended.
[So… I’m supposed to improve myself with pieces from other robots, is that right?] He asked after watching the videos.
[Yes!] She said cheerfully.
[So, this means that I have to get pieces from them before I can upgrade, right?] He asked again.
[Yup!]
[And how will I do that?] He asked, and this time the answer wasn’t as immediate.
[W…What do you mean?] She asked confused.
[How will I get the pieces? Just get closer to the robots and say: “Hey, mind giving me, I don’t know, that awesome motor that drives you so that I can become better than you and probably kill you in the process?”]
[I… Didn’t think of that…] She said shyly before suddenly cheering up. [Could this be…? Really?] She suddenly became cheerful.
No_name would like to access your video feed. Accept?(Yes/no)
Gaz looked surprised for a moment, staring at the window for a moment before deciding to accept it. For a brief moment his vision flickered before it came back to normal, and as he wondered what happened, The goddess once again spoke.
[Is… Is that… What are those?] She suddenly asked confused.
[What are what?] Gaz asked confused.
[Those… Large things… In front of you…] She asked confused.
[The trees?]
[So… These are trees?] She asked confused.
[Wow, you speak as if you have never seen one of them before!] He said surprised.
[They… They are common?] She asked surprised once again.
[Aren’t they pretty much everywhere?]
[Really?]
It was at this moment that he finally noticed that something was very wrong with the way that she was reacting wasn’t just an act.
[Could this be… You never saw the world?] He asked confused.
[No! I was sealed all this time… This… Is the first time I’ve seen it.] She agreed, her voice filled with wonder. [Hey! What’s that… Grey? Is that the color? That grey thing over there.] She asked, and when she did that, a symbol appeared on the corner of his vision, targeting something.
Gaz quickly turned towards that single spot and saw…
[A rock?] He asked, and he heard as the goddess made a sound of being impressed. [Say… How come you never did this whole vision sharing with some other of your robots?] He asked her confused.
[I’ve been sealed in here since the beginning! I never really had the chance to test my powers like that, you know?] She said in a slightly sullen mood. [But… Maybe I could try doing that…] She said, and suddenly went quiet.
Not bothering too much with the sudden silence, Gaz decided to take his time to explore the area where he was. Starting up the motors that moved his wheels, or whatever it was called, he started moving around. Even if he had absolutely no way of fending off for himself, standing around doing nothing wouldn’t take him anywhere.
For now, maybe he should look around for another robot? Or maybe something else that he could talk to? Actually, what are the other things that he would find in this world? Now that he had stopped to think about it, he knew literally nothing about this place, and from the looks of it, neither did the goddess guiding him.
Well, for now he could get that he was in a forest and it didn’t seem that there was anything around him. Whenever he stared at a single object for long enough, he would receive some information about them. Fairly simple things like size, temperature and estimated thoughness.
That gave him one important information about himself. He was ridiculously small. Probably something around fifty or so centimeters of height?
His chances of surviving simply seemed to get smaller and smaller with time.
He sighed on his mind as he walked started to move away from the area, seeing nothing more than vegetation and the occasional rocks. Not an animal, not a robot, nor a sentient being.
But he couldn’t quite feel that the forest was without life. Most likely he simply was too unlucky, or lucky, that he found nothing.
Or at least that is what he thought, until a single thing darted through his vision. He immediately spun around, seeking whatever it was that passed on his vision, and what he saw left him impressed.
A single small butterfly-like being seemed to notice him, as it also stopped and looked back to him. However, this one was far from the butterflies he had ever seen on his own world. Its center was made of some kind of metal casing and its wings looked some kind of plastic material, with glowing circuits pulsating a soft light around it.
The robotic butterfly stared at him for a moment, spun once or twice around him and darted away, landing on a nearby flower. Amused by the scene, Gaz was caught by surprise when suddenly, her voice sounded on his mind.
[It didn’t work…] She said sullenly. [I… Can somehow sense them around, but they are too different from when I first made them, so I can’t seem to interface with the others.] She said sadly.
[So… I’m your only source of contact with the external world?] He asked with a mental sigh.
[Seems so… Would you mind if I kept sharing your senses like this?]
[If you ask me with that tone, I would feel like a villain by refusing you…] He said with another mental sigh, which was received with a happy feeling from her. [Well, where do we go now, then?] He asked.
[Hmm… I don’t really know.] She said a bit confused. [I mean, I did feel a large concentration of robots a few days of travel… So maybe go there?]
[And will they help us?] The new robot asked in his mind.
[I… Don’t know. Besides their presence, I couldn’t really gather anything else. And even then, unless they are packed together I can’t seem to sense them.] She said in an apologetic tone.
[Oh well… That is our best bet for now, I guess…] He said while turning towards the direction of a target that popped up in his vision. [Let’s begin traveling then!] he said cheerfully while accelerating his motors.
[Hmm! Let’s hope nothing goes wrong!] She said in his mind, but this made the small robots top in his track for a moment, the inertia making his core spin a couple of times.
[Oh, god… You had to go and say it…] He said.
Lady luck is a vengeful mistress, and those who tempt her, shall always be the first to taste her revenge.
“!$^#$^@%!”
As if waiting for those words, a sudden voice was heard from outside, shouting something. And before Gaz could react to that sound, a loud noise echoed on the forest, and soon after, something fell atop the round robot.
It was a net, made with some kind of silvery strands, and on its edges, stakes that pierced the ground, keeping the net in place. The poor robot tried to move away from the net, but they proved far too strong for his feeble motors.
“!%$&^#!?”
He heard the voice coming from behind slowly approaching him.
[Lets make a promise?] He said after giving up.
[Yes?]
[If we survive this, you are forbidden from speaking those words again, ok?]
[Sorry?]

Apex Predator
Earth is a fairly small place, but it's all Bath has. It's the only home he's ever known for all of his 500-or-so-million years of life. One day, Bath realized his treasured Earth was being drawn into the next mass extinction ahead of schedule. So, fascinated by the humans and their quick rise to power (after all, setting off a mass extinction is a pretty sizable achievement), what's a nearly all-powerful, somewhat bored, morally ambiguous, savagely violent, shapeshifting alien entity to do other than assume the form of a human and do some front-line investigating? Little did Bath know he would soon stumble upon a mysterious human organization with a gate leading to planets eons away. And that's just the beginning... A story with aliens, intergalactic space travel, mind powers, and an abundance of adventure! Author's note: ON HIATUS! Hello and thank you for reading! Constructive criticism and grammar-policing are both appreciated. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are complete at 1271 pages! Part 7 is in progress! If you've ever read any other web serials, you might've noticed that authors get better with time (that is, their art or writing improves). Wutosama of Metaworld Chronicles noted that the first 20 chaps are always a mess. This is also the case with Apex Predator. The first two parts (ranging just under 30 chapters, or 161 pages) are absolutely subpar. While I have edited them as of 7-10-18, they require a rewrite, which is currently in the works but not complete. For a sample that gives insight into what the latter ~80% of the story's writing style is like, check out chapter 56. Vote for Apex Predator on Top Web Fiction! The Apex Predator Discord is here. Cover: original work done by me, the author, caerulex.

The Legend of Rayola the Deathless [Dead]
[This story is Discontinued] Another story based on the lore, which has been expanded and with far more details and hopefully better writing shall be released later on. After about the tenth time she died, Rayola started to think, that maybe she didn't come out quite right, even by supernatural standards. Of course, the pale white skin and hair, plus the blazing orange eyes might have been a clue and it was getting harder and harder to blend in. To top it all off, she has no memory of who she is and there's an incredibly suspiscious, snarky voice in her head making quips about her life choices. Even worse was the inability to sleep. At first, she thought that maybe she was just an overly messed up zombie or even a vampire! But she was proven wrong time and time agian... there were too many inconsistencies and it made her uneasy. The final straw was the issue with her own identity. At first she was okay with being her own brand-new person, but as more and more ghosts of her past started to slowly catch up, she had no choice but to set off on a journey... A journey to discover who she once was, and to find out what had happened to her. It was for no noble cause but merely one for personal salvation. Yet, her actions left behind a legend in her wake.
