《An A.I Is Such A Cheat In The Martial World!》Chapter 2 - I Underestimated This World

EXTREMELY LONG CHAPTER WARNING! :)
Throughout the night, I had felt the cooling sensation of the moonlight flowing through me and the warmth of my sister. She slept with her arms and legs around me, so I was feeling her comfortable warm body along with her soft, elastic skin all through the night. I had a light sleep because I still felt danger but rested well because of Jasmine. She regulated my sleep to be optimal. I slept about 6 hours before light hit my face.
It was also when I noticed that the comfortable cool feeling was gone, along with my sisters body heat. I woke up energized and my body no longer felt so weak. But I had an uncomfortable feeling of slight weakness in my muscles and bones while my blood was invigorated.
I questioned why the mirror wouldn't absorb sunlight directly from the sun but it would when reflected from the moon. Did the moon somehow change the properties of light to make it have a cooling sensation? Again questions I don't have an answer to.
[Vitality increased to 0.4 ] [Body still malnourished. Increase in status won't be felt until nutrition is increased. Reserve Battery increased to 0.1%. Basic Body Status – Str 0.4 Agi 0.4 Vit 0.4 Health = Weak.]
I had told Jasmine to absorb 10% of the energy into her reserve battery before I fell asleep.
I woke up to the sight of my sister making arrows at inhuman speed! She was carving sticks with her knife and attaching arrow heads on one side, in a matter of seconds! The sticks were random thickness and size, but in the end, they would all looked exactly the same! The arrow heads looked like some type of sharp, black stone with a slightly glossy appearance that have been made into the shape of an arrowhead. With her inhuman proficiency and speed, I knew she had the process down to muscle memory.
I also looked around. I was clearly able to see our surroundings. Everything looked picturesque. On one side was lush green grass that stretched as far as I can see. Trees so tall they seem to defy gravity and stretch onto the sky. Small animals and birds were also starting their day. And the small wooden hut that was our house in front of me looked minuscule compared the trees.
On the other was the village... It was more like a fortress! The village was huge! I could only see some of it! I was expecting some wooden houses and farmland with cattle, but it was more like an old, primitive city! Many houses were made of wood but there was a colossal fort structure made of stone in the center. There were also many giant wooden structures that looked like buildings. There was even a wall that went around the entire city! I need to get rid of my preconceived notions before they come back and bite me in the ass.
My sister noticed my gaze and looked up to me. She was still making her arrows and smiled at me. I could only smile back at the scene.
“Good morning brother. Are you hungry? We still have the soup I made from yesterday. I also bought some fruit from the village. Sit down while I get some for you. Later, I'll go the village and get some meat so you'll get better.” She said while she got up to give me a warm hug and kiss on the cheek. She went to the hut to get our food while I went over to the arrows. I had seen her make the arrows, and with my perfect memory, I thought I would also be able to.

I made them with little difficulty. I was surprised at my body coordination and speed! I didn't have Jasmine optimize my body yet but I was still had near perfect control of my body! I was still slightly weak, so there was a slight difference in speed compared to my sister, but the quality of the arrows was the same! The branches and sticks would dance in my fingers with inhuman speed as I carved them with the knife to be perfectly rounded and smooth. There weren't any nicks or any inaccuracies that could shift the weight or cause defects. I had also noticed that the wood was very strong, but could be easily carved. It seems my mind can already take memories and turn them into partial muscle memory, without actually doing the work. Or I just had insane hand/eye coordination. I had plans of doing this with Jasmine but it seems like I can already so something similar.
When my sister came back with the food, she had a worried look on her face. I knew she was worried about my body and the arrows. The arrows were our lifeline to survival. Branches weren't hard to find but you had to make trips gathering them. That meant time was wasted and there was always danger of beasts. She was already several days behind on making them, and had to catch up. If she didn't hand in certain amounts of arrows to the village, we wouldn't get the rice, coins and wouldn't be allowed in the village! This meant almost certain death!
I also noticed something else. As I used my weak muscles and bones, the moonlight energy inside my body would go into my bones and muscles, making them stronger! It seemed as though some of the energy would be automatically absorbed, but the rest needed to be absorbed through working my body! The cool feeling would also return and erase my fatigue.
Cesar didn't even question why the energy didn't dissipate or leave his body. This was monstrous and miraculous ability!
I now had a plan to my recovery. I needed to absorb as much moonlight as I can, eat good food, and work my body with brutal efficiency to absorb the excess energy. With my information of the human anatomy, I can make sure I train my entire body so it doesn't harm my growth. There were muscles that people can't sense but they play a vital role in strength of the human body. I also felt my bones getting stronger! Bones take a lot longer to strengthen, but they could also be improved at the same speed with this energy! With the energy nourishing my body, I'll be able to train without the normal fatigue and limits that people encounter!
But a thought hit me. I could give that extra energy to Jasmine. I knew it was important and she was already taking 10% of the energy coming into my body, even though I didn't know where that energy went. But I chose not to give her the energy. I'm sure Jasmine would agree with me. I needed this energy to make my weak body stronger. There are beasts that could kill me and I need the strength and speed to be able to escape them. I need to guarantee my survival before everything else!
This also confirmed one of my theories. Even though our bodies looked humans, I'm sure that there was a major difference in DNA. The humans of this world are multitudes different from the ones on Earth. They had to be! They needed to adapt to this worlds harsh environment and constant war.

When Lily noticed my speed and accuracy, there was surprise in her eyes. I did the same thing and just looked at her and smiled while continuing to make arrows. She even smiled back at me.
She sat beside me with the bowls of soup and some fruit I couldn't recognize.
“The arrows are well made little Cesar. You learned to make them from watching me right. Hehe, that's my genius brother! But you need to eat and let your sister make the arrows. You should rest or play if you feel better.” Said my caring sister.
I had no such plans. If I was really 4 years old, I would have listened, but I with my mental age, I wasn't going to let a 9 year old handle the entire burden of taking care of a household! The arrow making was an automatic process at this point. I didn't even need to look or focus on making them. I could tell I was even getting faster and becoming more efficient! I still had to think about what exercises would benefit my body the most. For now, with my small size and age, I had decided on speed, nimbleness, and flexibility to be my main options. This basically meant I was training my agility. That didn't mean I would neglect my strength. Being 4 years old, I should have a developing body that's very flexible and soft. I would also have amazing stamina that comes with being a child. I had to focus on what I could do to survive right now! But if I could train at night, while I absorb the energy, I could train each part of my body! I could even train my strength! That was a much better idea. I still had to sleep, but it's only for 6 hours.
So I said to my sister “I like making arrows. I also want to be fed by my beautiful older sister. Hehe.”
She blushed at being called beautiful and started feeding me. The soup was once again tasty but it was the fruit that surprised me. It looked like a red peach but it tasted like an orange with a smooth texture! They were really tasty so I took big bites to my sisters amusement. It's been a long time since I've been hand fed. But I felt care and tenderness in her actions. They went straight to my soul, releasing some my stress.
When we finished eating, I had also finished making all the arrows. I still had plenty of energy in my body and the food would help with the nutrients. My arms and hands felt a lot better and the weakness was gone from them. So I decided to do some yoga and stretches because it would help my entire body feel better.
But before that, there were certain tasks that needed to be completed. My sister took the incomplete arrows and carried them to our house to be feathered. She carried the bowls and I followed her to clean them. We still hadn't taken a bath, and we were both very dirty. She led us to one of the giant trees that were everywhere. She used her knife to make a cut on the vine that was handing from the tree. Water started coming out of the cut!
“The vines collect rain water. If your every thirsty, take your knife and make a cut. The vines will heal the cut quickly so you need to be quick with the task. Also, look carefully to make sure it's a vine!” She said as she washed the bowls.
“Sis, we are both dirty. we should take a bath.” I decided I wanted a bath. I always felt better after a bath and needed one with how dirty I was. I just accepted the matter with the healing vines.
A cheshire smile showed on her face and started taking off our cloths. I thought I would go to a separate tree and use a different vine. I had my own knife that was similar to my sisters so I could take my own bath. I guess my sister had different thoughts!
A with flush in her cheeks, making her look meek, but with a slight smirk on the corner of her lips, she said “You need to rest right now. I also need to check on your body to make sure your alright. So let me wash you. I also need to get all the dirt out from of your body and hair.” She said while trying to sound sisterly. But she didn't fool me. I decided to change my approach to go on the offensive and tease her by saying “I guess I should be a good brother and do the same!”. When she heard that, she turned a deeper shade of red.
“En. Make sure to get all the dirt!” Was what I heard and it was my turn to blush. Wrong move!
She was 9 years old, but she was already starting to transition from a girl to a beautiful young women. With her beautiful oval face, perfect skin, hour glass figure, and a bountiful developing bosom, I wanted nothing to do with bathing with her. I will still a man inside and didn't have the experience of bathing with such a beauty, even if she was my sister!
When she sensed me flush red and try to escape, her smirked widened and caught me with inhuman speed! I knew it, she's powerful! I couldn't escape her clutches while she smiled and giggled. With futile resistance, we proceeded to wash each other. With all the dirt, there was a lot of touching, everywhere. Despite my concerns, my body didn't react. I guess my body isn't developed enough and is still immature. My mind also calmed down. The bath turned out nice and I felt loved towards the end of the bath. She still looked and focused on a certain part of my body more she than needed to, but I didn't let it get to me. I tried to have some decency and not look where I shouldn't, which I failed to do.
We also rinsed our cloths and filled the bowls with water. We both felt refreshed. At the end of the bath, we got clothed and prepared to go back to the hut. I suddenly felt danger, like a sixth sense! Right at that moment, I heard a roar! It was distant, but it was loud! It came from deep in the forest! At the same time, I heard something of a stampede!
[DANGER DETECTED!!]
Right at that moment, my sister grabbed me and ran. She went to a giant tree that had a lot of branches and I knew what she wanted to do! We both climbed it with our fastest speed! With nimble bodies, we both looked like agile monkeys flying up the tree. When we reached 70-80 feet, we stopped. We both looked over the village and what I saw stunned me. From the far side of the village, there were countless beasts rushing towards the village! Just the atmosphere of the beasts made my skin freeze. I could also sense immense bloodlust from their bodies even though I could barely see them! My blood started boiling just watching them run towards the village.
I saw my first sight of this worlds predators.
I once again knew I underestimated this world! Some of the beasts looked were gigantic! They were about 20 feet and all of them made me feel like an ant! Forget fighting them, I couldn't even escape! I couldn't even be used as a toothpick for their teeth! I thought I was prepared because I had played games with all types monsters in them, but that was a delusion! There was a massive difference between reality and games, no matter how real they looked in games! These were real beasts that lived in constant death and struggle! Just their aura suffocated me!
[Str increased from 0.4 to 0.5 Agi increased from 0.4 to 0.6 Vit increased from 0.4 to 0.5] said Jasmine, but I didn't feel any better. I knew burning off the excess energy from climbing would make me stronger and more agile.
Actually, those numbers were one of the reasons I underestimated this world! I used game like terminology for determining the condition of my body! I need to get rid of this system as soon as possible and put some another scale in its place! I need to recondition myself, but I knew it wouldn't happen overnight! I reminded myself that this was the most basic analysis of my bones, muscles, tendons, blood, veins, etc. It would be better when Jasmine came out of the Power Saving Mode. But I started to get angry and my blood started to boil, but I felt my sister take my hand.
I looked over and she looked calm but razor sharp. She said “I'll never let anything happen to you Cesar.” and I calmed myself down. I was starting a new life, and had to experience it myself to understand its structure. And my 9 year old sister wanted to protect me. That poured some water over my head. But it made me remember Jasmines voice. I was getting stronger! In 2 days, I advanced my body tremendously. And I knew I was just at the tip of the iceberg. I also knew the scale was fine. I understood it and it was accurate. I just needed to change my attitude towards the scale, not change the scale itself. Actually, I needed to re-calibrate the scale to fit this world! It was accurate for Earth but it wasn't for this world! So with that in mind, I gazed at the battle to come.
She continued “Those beasts you see are the weakest Ferocious Beasts from the forest. They may look scary, but they are at the bottom of the beast food chain. They only use some qi to strengthen their bodies. There are countless ways of using qi, and we can be thankful that the beasts that attack the village are weak. They have no intelligence, and run on basic instinct. Now you see why humans are disadvantaged against them. They outnumber us. They are stronger. But we have our ways of dealing with them as long as something too monstrous doesn't show up.”
I took in all the information. These beasts are the weakest among their kind. I see countless beasts that could tear me to pieces, and she called them weak! I accepted that I was at the bottom of the food chain, that I was weak! I had seen many small animals in the forest and knew I was stronger than them, but that comparison did nothing to build my confidence! I had a burning sensation in my heart from wanting to become strong! This feeling started started entering my soul, making sure I always follow it!
That's when I felt something similar to last night. I felt energy coursing throughout my body! But it was different from last night. If I felt a cool, comfortable moonlight energy last night, I felt a warm and strong energy invigorating my soul! This was the energy of the sun! The energy that gave birth to all life!
[Energy source detected! Effect seems to be deep strengthening and invigorating.]
This wasn't the calm energy of the moonlight. I felt it lightly pounding against my body from the inside, as if forging and reconstructing it! It also seemed to slowly nourish my mind and senses!
But the energy came in slowly, like thick molasses, but spread evenly throughout my body. I somehow knew it was because the mirror was regulating the energy, not wanting to over saturate my body and cause harm! It was like the mirror could feel my emotions! And I understood. The mirror reacted to my emotions of gaining power and excitement from watching the battle!
This also made me realize that I not only had my knowledge from earth and Jasmine to help me, but also this pendant! I didn't know where it came from, or how it worked, but it was a world changing invention! Any invention that had to do with energy was.
With my knowledge, I knew there was energy everywhere and in everything! I even knew the different types of energy in the world. I knew that if I could access even a fraction of the available energy, I could reach unimaginable heights. I now knew there were conditions to the pendant, and I needed to figure them out. The capabilities of this treasure are paramount!
Lily continued “These beasts are being controlled by an Elite or King ranked Ferocious Beast. By the roar, it should be a King ranked Scarlet Blood Lion. Most of the time, rouge beasts attack the village. There are battles constantly going on a small scale all around the forest. But every now and then, an organized type of attack happens. An organized attack is much more dangerous than mindless, wandering beasts. They follow the basic commands of a more powerful beast, and attack in great number!”
I continued listening to my sister. She was nothing like the cheeky, playful, older sister I had a few minutes ago. She was a razor sharp knife that was teaching and protecting it's kin! She seemed to have a personality change. Even though she was looking at the beasts, she constantly watched the tree we were standing on and the area around us. I once again realized my sister was more than meets the eye.
Jasmine also said that my Strength had increased from 0.5 to 0.7. I didn't need to hear it, because I felt it! I also felt my senses getting sharper. I saw more clearly at a longer distance. There were numerous advances and changes in my body. But soon after, the energy stopped. I noticed it was because I had calmed down. If I continued being hot blooded and excited, I'm sure the energy would come back.
Even with the short amount of time the energy was forging my body, there were massive results! I no longer felt the beasts aura making my blood freeze but still felt constant, low danger. I didn't want this sense to go away. It could be life saving! There was still lots of this warm energy left in my body and I would have to burn it off later. I was approaching the strength of an Earth adult with nano machines! This once again put into focus just how strong my 4 year old body was. I needed to test my body but I was confident I could lift 150 pounds!
[Reserve Battery increased from 0.1 to 0.3%.] I guess Jasmine is going to take 10% of all energy I get.
This was also when the beasts closed in on the city walls. After they passed an invisible boundary, countless arrows were shot from the city walls. They were the same arrows that we were making! The front row of the beasts was completely decimated. It made for a gruesome sight. I didn't get nauseous at the sight of death, and I was thankful for that.
That's when I saw small dots of light escape from the beasts bodies. My first thought was souls? But the dots of light just rose to the sky and dispersed. With the thousands of beasts dying, it made for a stunning sight. I didn't know what phenomena this was, but it was beautiful. It really put the phrase 'beauty can be found in the ugliest things' in perspective.
But I thought all the lights distracting. I felt the energy that was nourishing my eyes move away from them. All of a sudden, the lights were gone! It was the energy that was doing this! The energy followed my thoughts? My will? But I had learned, anything weird with energy had to do with the mirror. But I let the energy come back to my eyes. I didn't want the energy to change my eyes so this becomes a permanent effect but having better eyesight was too temping. I also noticed their bones were glowing.
They looked like the dots of light but they didn't disperse or move. It was like the light was trapped in the bones. Something than connected in my head.
They were Ferocious Beasts that gathered Heavenly Energy! It had to be this Heavenly Energy!
My mind went through many different thoughts at lightening speed.
Soon, the beautiful morning was filled with blood. But it wasn't human blood being spilled, but monster blood! The Ferocious Beasts had yet to even get one step closer to the village but there were just countless beasts.
This also made me want to get a bow. With my improved body, and Jasmine's help, I would never miss my arrows. I had decided that when she gained over 5% of her Reserve battery, I'll pull her out of Power Saving Mode. I need her soon, and she had her limitations removed by coming to this world with me. She could help me in infinite ways. We also need to recalibrate, because she still seems to be following the old programming. That's not suitable anymore since she's lost her limitations. It's more probable that she's conserving energy, and holding herself back. It's acceptable for now, but not later. Not in this dangerous world! I also need to get rid of my previous life's conditioning. There's so much to do, and not enough time!
“The arrows will make sure normal Ferocious Beasts will not come closer to the city. There is still danger of Elite ranked beasts that the King Blood Lion commands because they are not affected by these arrows. The human army will soon run out of arrows or start conserving them. Cesar, be sure to watch how the protectors of humanity battle. They have spent their entire lives fighting these beasts, watch and learn from them.” Lily thoughtfully said.
So I did. Around 70 men and 30 women came out from the city walls. They each seem to have their own grace and aura. They all had different armour made from different leathers. But I saw a similarity in all of their styles. Each seemed to value being able to move efficiently and quickly. Not a single person wore metal armour, but leather armour with metal straps at various locations. All of them had either a sword or spear in their hands. Most of the weapons looked the same but there were a few people that had unique looking weapons.
With countless beasts approaching them, they all looked relaxed. It looked like they were taking a walk outside to stretch their legs.
When they started fighting however, I could only look on in disbelief.
When they started fighting, their aura changed. I could only feel power radiating from their bodies. They moved with a blur and death followed their footsteps. Each thrust, stab, and slash with their weapons took a life. It wasn't even their speed or power that took me by surprise. It was how minimal their movements were! Each step and body movement was done with minimum power. There were no wasted movements. They maximized the usage of their bodies to kill while conserving their strength. They faced countless beasts but they looked like an impenetrable fortress.
I also noticed how they acted in unison. They all seemed to move together, weaving their bodies through the countless beasts coming for them. They also seemed to know which beasts were coming towards them, killing the most powerful ones while letting the weaker ones to be dealt with arrows. There was never too much space between them, but they never got close enough to get in each others ways.
I watched, taking each detail and movement of their bodies. With my perfect memory and excellent eyesight, I could do something similar to the arrows that my sisters made! I could internalize these memories and make them my own! I could even have Jasmine analyze these memories to make a compendium. So I watched and learned with ardour, not missing a single moment.
At that moment, I felt a familiar feeling, one I didn't welcome. It was faint, but it was there. I felt danger! It wasn't from the beasts that were dying or fighting, but from something behind me! It was distant, and the feeling of danger was weak, but it was slowly getting stronger. I didn't ignore this feeling and acted.
“Lily. I feel danger! And it's getting stronger! Climb!” I yelled.
With a piercing gaze from my sister, we quickly climbed. We reached over 150 feet before we stopped.
It seemed my sister now also felt this danger and pulled me close. she hissed “It's an elite beast!”.
At the same time, I now saw someone coming in our direction from the city. It was an old man. His face was wrinkled and he had no hair. He woke a simple, grey robe. I almost said my prayers for the man about to be killed when I looked at his hand. He had a thin, 4 feet long sword with a wooden handle. There were also strange golden markings on the sword. He seemed to be standing still, not moving a muscle but was coming at us at an incredible speed! Each step he would cross 10 feet!
Everything about this old man extraordinary. The way he moved, he seemed to be flying and gliding on land! His aura also exceeded the other soldiers. The others radiated power, while this old man oozed a cool, silent, calm killing intent! But it went beyond that killing intent, I could only feel death looking at him! Like he spent his entire life killing! But I didn't feel any danger, it actually made me feel protected.
When I looked at the old man, for a fraction of a second, I felt him return the gaze. But he looked and focused on the Elite Ferocious beast that was coming straight towards him.
It was a giant, 12 feet tall wolf. It had white fur that made it look like a streak of light. The wolfs speed was frightening. I could only see a faint imagine, a blur of light!
From their speeds, I knew they would meet not too far from us. I had no doubt in their power to utterly destroy the tree we were standing on. But at the same time, I could watch a true master at work! If I could learn from this battle, I would be one step closer to advancing my strength!
I made a split second decision. I didn't know how much energy this would cost how long it would last. But I knew I couldn't see them clearly at their speeds.
So I said in my mind “Jasmine, increase my perception 1.5 times or something similar without overexerting my energy for the duration of this fight!”
[Increasing perception by 30%. Dilating irises to increase light absorption for increase in information. Increasing information processing and strain on mind to slow down perception of time by 25%. Increasing connection between Subconscious mind. Cost is 0.1% initial Reserve energy + Constant energy from Masters Body.]
I knew this was an option for me. I got this idea from the virtual reality games that would increase perception of time. All it took was increased focus and greater processing of information that was coming from my sensory organs.
I felt my mind focus on the coming fight. Time slowed down and I felt my mind strain. The old man and the wolf were moving at speeds I could finally see clearly. My mind also started working overtime. Usually, I would take my memories and analyze them later. But right now, I felt like I was watching the old man frame by frame, and many different imagines would show up like shadows from his body. It was like my mind was calculating how this old man moved and what he was capable of. With each step the old man would take, I would see afterimages and shadows of him slashing, stabbing, and moving differently. It was as if there were many doppelgangers of the old man fighting an invisible enemy.
But it wasn't an invisible enemy! I slowly saw images being formed from of the intimidating white furred wolf. It was fighting the old man!
Even before the fight began, my mind was already calculating how the fight would end! This information came from my subconscious mind!
When the two strong beings were about to meet, the old mans sword started glowing! It was coated by a gold aura!
The two enemies were now a few feet from each other. And an image came up from the elders body. I saw him swing his golden sword upwards, towards the jaws and razor sharp teeth that were closing on his head. As if by magic, the old man and wolf started following the simulation of my mind.
The image ended with the old man slicing the beast skull in half, followed up by the entire body!! His sword came to up to the wolfs neck, slicing it vertically. The slice went from the neck to the brain, to the long jaws that contained pointed, steel teeth, finally exiting by the snout, cutting the beasts head perfectly in half. The golden glow left his sword and seemed to have a life of its own! It followed the trajectory of the blade and cut the entire beast in half!
Then I watched it happen in real life, frame by frame. It was magical to watch the old man slice at the perfect time, with speed so fast, I could only see the golden glint that came from the sword, before the fight was over.
A single swing of the sword, and old man dealt with an Elite Ferocious beast! Strong!
It was at that moment that my perception return to normal. I finally felt how weak my body was! I felt drained! But I didn't care! I looked down to see a familiar sight. With the magnificent beast dead, the dots of light started rising in the air. I was 20 feet from these lights. Then something pulsed from the mirror. I felt myself get even weaker! I was on the verge of exhaustion, and felt like passing out! But I saw some of the lights come to me. They came up to me and entered the mirror.
In my exhausted state, I felt myself becoming a wolf! I saw myself ripping beasts in half with my steel like claws and razor sharp teeth! I saw myself preying on many beasts and becoming stronger!
When I came back to myself, I felt different. I could feel my teeth and nails becomes harder and sharper. I also no longer felt the weakness I had before, as if it never happened. But it did.
I looked down to see the old man gone. I didn't know how long I was in the hallucination. But the wolf corpse was still there! I saw the lights coming from the bones and they were much richer than the ones I saw in the battlefield! I knew this was an opportunity! I also didn't feel any strong danger that could threaten my life.
I immediately hissed to my sister “We need to take that corpse!”.
That woke my sister up from a dazed state and looked down at the corpse. She looked around and saw we were in no immediate danger. She still grasped my hand with strength and said “It's still dangerous Cesar. We should wait.”
I knew we didn't have time. This was an Elite Ferocious Beast! Once people realized the old man didn't take the corpse back, then they'll come running for it! It's too valuable!
Not for a second did I think that the old man forgot the corpse. He left it there!
I said in a stern voice “We need to take it now! If people realize the old man didn't take the corpse back, they'll come running for it! It's too valuable! This is a chance Lily, we can't waste it! Hurry!”
I had seen the beast hoard. Even with the countless beasts, there were only a few that looked like Elite Beasts! Once people see that this corpse is by itself, with no danger or fighting around it, they will come for it! Who wouldn't take risk-free money within the reach of their fingertips!
I instantly started jumping down the branches. I felt the tips of my fingers and nails had become much tougher! It made the descent much easier! But my sister was faster. She made her way down with amazing movements and grabbed the two pieces of the corpse. With strength not expected of her teenage body, she started dragging hundreds of pounds of dead wolf towards our hut. On the descent, I was slower but I kept a watch on the city walls. I didn't see anyone coming for the corpse. If someone did, I knew we didn't have the strength to keep it and would have to give it up. They might even be a danger to our health!
I also eyed the battlefield. The monstrous soldiers were pushing the beast hoard back. It seemed that the beasts instincts of life was affecting them. They followed the commands of the strong King Ranked beast, but they beasts still wanted to live, it was ingrained in their souls! They seemed to be retreating, but didn't want to retreat too far. They still feared the King ranked Blood Lion that was commanding them. There wasn't a single human casualty so far! What strength! The protectors still looked the same, like they were taking a walk in the park, but their aura was weaker, not to mention each part of them was covered in blood. I knew a crucial moment had appeared. Either the King Ranked beast would get involved or there would be a retreat.
While we were on the tree, I had also seen more dots of light. But these were different. They were stationary, and were scattered around the forest. Some were on the ground, some on top of trees, some hidden underground, others on cliffs. They also had different intensities of light. I only could only see a portion of the forest but I made a mental map of where these lights were.
But I didn't get to find out how battle ended. Lily and I made our way back to the hut. She seemed distressed but I told her I felt no danger, and that no one followed us from the city. She seemed to calm down when I said that. As we were back, I cut several vines that were on trees. There was a blood trail and I didn't want beasts or people following it. The water would disperse the blood, some of it anyways.
When we reached the hut, my sister told me to collect vines. As I started collecting vines, my sister tied the beast to a tree with the vines and started using the remaining vines to collect the blood!
That's right, even the blood of the Ferocious Beast was precious! Soon afterwards, she started removing the fur from the beast. Because the beast was already carved in half, it was easy to remove the skin from the beat. Even then, the knife couldn't pierce the fur itself. She had to work the skin, and with the beast being a dozen feet tall, it took a while.
Then she processed the teeth, claws, eye balls, everything else she could get her hands on. She saved the stuff we couldn't use like the entrails telling me they could be used to make bowstrings or used for traps.
I wanted to make them into a bow strings and said so. Having a bow would change quite a lot. Once I gained a bit of practice, I sure I could use it to hunt Ferocious Beasts, or just small animals. They would change our living conditions. We could move into the city and have a safer place to live. I also needed one for our protection. At this point, we had no ways of protecting ourselves beside our knifes, and we could only climb on top the trees.
I continued watching her carve the meat into smaller pieces and collect the organs. As I watched, I learned to skin a Ferocious Beast. I knew there were many types, but this was a start. The more she collected off the beast, the more I saw the shining bones. With my normal vision, they looked like normal bones, but with my energy sensitive one, they looked like diamonds!
When she finished, she packed the useful parts in the basement of the small hut. We didn't have to worry about meat for a while. The fur would be made into blankets and bedding. Winter was cold and harsh in this world and my sister doesn't have the equipment to turn the fur into cloths. The blood would be added to vegetables. The blood contained some of the essence from the beast, so it was important to quickly consume the blood. With the amount of blood we collected, I knew we would sell most of it.
I knew how important the bones were. So I made my way to them when she was packing and organizing the food. The skeleton structure of the white furred wolf was massive.
When I touched the bones, the mirror reacted. It once again pulsed and I felt myself weaken slightly. About 70% of the energy left the bones and entered the mirror. Once again, I felt myself become a wolf. But this time, it was different. I felt like a king, the king of wolfs. I was massive, 50 feet tall. I saw myself running vast distances across the wilderness with speed I've never experienced before. I would cover dozens of kilometres with a single jump. I saw myself fighting beasts that made the Ferocious Beasts look like kittens. I immersed myself in this hallucination, experiencing the life of a truly powerful being.
The moment I opened my eyes, my eyes flashed white. My body had once again changed. I felt taller, by a few inches. My bones were also incredibly strong and heavy. I felt like I could break stones and trees with my hands. My muscle mass had also substantially increased. I was not longer the frail, thin child, but a developing teenager. My nails and teeth had also become tougher, and had become sharp. They weren't at the level of claws but I could do quite a bit of damage with them. I could sense my body at levels I could have never before. My senses had become so sharp, so suddenly, that I felt disoriented. My entire body was reborn. I felt like a newborn. I enjoyed the feeling for a few moments.
But my skin felt slimy and had a foul odor. I looked down and saw a black substance all over my skin. It was incredibly foul and I thought something had gone wrong. But since Jasmine hadn't said so, I calmed down.
Since I could feel myself getting stronger, I had stopped the automatic updates about my body from Jasmine. They were so basic that I felt and understood more than the numbers told me. I also didn't need them as a distraction. If I needed an update, I could just ask Jasmine. Or she could tell me, she didn't have any limitations anymore. I also wanted her to start talking to me.
I missed talking to Jasmine. I didn't see her as an A.I, but a person I love. I didn't know why she wasn't talking to me, and I was getting concerned. Still, even just hearing her voice made me feel better and I felt at home.
Than I realized. I had become so focused on this new world that I was neglecting Jasmine. I hadn't teased her, or even tried to open a conversation with her. I didn't even ask for her opinion of several matters! Than it hit me, I was treating her as a tool. She had just as much right to refuse my requests as I made them. Shit. I felt like shit for treating her like that. I needed apologize. She wasn't holding herself back, or even following her previous programming. She was punishing me.
Before I could talk to Jasmine, I heard a gasp. I looked over and saw my sister holding her hands over her mouth, wide eyed.
“Little Cesar entered the Houtian Profound Realm?! Impossible, he's only 4!” She softly muttered, but I heard her clearly.
Houtian Profound Realm? I would have thought more about it but the matter with Jasmine was starting to get to me. Not to mention the smell was suffocating at this point.
Like nothing happened, she came up to me and lightly hugged me, like she couldn't even smell the foul odor. “Little Cesar, you need another bath, let's go take one after I put the Ferocious Beast Essence Bones away. I know your confused and disoriented, but try to focus on your mind, or your eyes, and not the rest of your senses or body.”
I did as she asked and I immediately felt better. But it was more than that, when I focused on my mind and eyes, I could not only see unbelievably well, but I noticed time slowed down, if only a tiny fraction. Changes were happening too fast for me to keep up with, even if they were beneficial for me.
I liked to be in control, to plan and organize my life. To do so, I needed to know the information that my sister was hiding from me. She might have secrets that she can't tell anyone, but so do I.
So I came up with a way to explain what happened to me if I was questioned. I already had suspicions that this had to do with Cultivating.
She went and carried the bones to the basement. She would come back and I would be given another bath.
But before that I needed to admit my mistakes and deal with them.
“Jasmine, can we talk? I want to apologize.” I said sincerely.
I finally heard her sweet, crisp voice. [Finally. Took you long enough. I should give you a punch but that would be punching myself. Apology accepted. I was reading your mind all this time anyways. Your only 4. You're suppose to be peeing on me and making my life hell. We need to get you potty trained.] She giggled.
And all the tension melted away from me. She always did have a way with words. For the first time in what felt like my life, I had a hearty laugh. Even though I was laughing, I felt tears coming out of my eyes. I was glad. It would have broken my spirit if Jasmine stopped talking to me.
[I also saw a new side to you. A strong, brave and hot blooded side to you that I've never seen before. You also cute, Little Cesar. Absolutely adorable. I almost couldn't hold myself back. I'm still hibernating because there could be emergencies and I need energy to save your sorry little butt. I know with your personality, you'll get into stupid situations where I have come down and save you like a knight in shining silver armour... Talking about silver... That girl likes you Cesar, and in more than a sister/brother way. She wasn't lying when she said she was your foster sister, but wasn't telling the entire truth. She cares a lot for you, so take care of her. If you want her as your wife or girlfriend, I'll be fine with it. Not to mention I'll also feel the sensations since I'm connected to your body. Surprisingly, I'm not getting an identity crisis. I still feel like a girl. Still, keep me in your heart. I'm bound to get my own body sooner or later, so I can become your wife then.] She said.
[Also, Your body stats are now all 1.4. That necklace is over-powered, and I couldn't even probe it. I'll need a lot of energy to do so. We can't talk a lot, since it takes extra energy, but we'll do so before you go to sleep every night. Go take a bath little boy, I don't want to feel yucky anymore. Talk to you later wolf.]
“Talk to you later love.” I said feeling totally sedated and content. I felt that all was right in the world. I had been constantly on the edge, and the stress was getting to me. I now felt more calm and collected. It was only my second day here, and I've accomplished a lot, more than I ever imagined. My fears and worries also slowly melted away.
Somehow, I fell asleep sitting there, going into a deep, relaxed sleep.
