As expected, there is a lot of feedback on the latest chapters. I think that a part of my reasoning for a few things should go here, and depending on what everyone thinks I will always consider going back and reworking things.
So first, the Dark Vengeance thing. Apophis killed a soul and messed with a champions family, planning on blackmailing them. As far as the Gods are concerned, stripping him of divinity is the punishment he deserves. Sean is going to erase his name from history and seal him in isolation for however long he is going to live. For a narcissistic abuser like Apophis, that has to be one of the worst things ever. To be forgotten.
Another thing is that Sean is holding everyone in the church responsible, even simple worshippers. So the village out in the boonies, thankful for the snakes that eat the mice that steal their grain? Yeah, they just got a brutal death sentence.
some of you brought up great points about meditation or hibernating. I hadn't thought of those, but there will be countermeasures. Apophis will be aware of time passing, with nothing to do.
So, is that above and beyond enough? I'm still not sure, but we can work through it and possibly add some things.
Now, his daughter. I didn't plan on eating her soul, the idea hit me when I had 'just a few chips' and a little bit later half the tube was gone.
The family being attacked hasn't been a deus ex thing. I have been trying to hint at behind the scenes things happening, especially with Croea and her letters. Sean wasn't originally supposed to be a champion, Ariana likes musclehead warrior champions. Croea manipulated Lokir into changing their summoning target. That's how they could know the family location, and then leaking that information to Apophis. Lokir even hints that he did something horrible and will accept any jidgement from Sean when the time comes.

So on this last remaining world they decided to spread their essence, which contained their memories and abilities so that someday they may be reborn. Years passed, before the first of the Five Great Moons had been reborn. He had awoken as a decent of one of the lesser Moons, he was known as King, a divine being task with the protection of the Ark. Now reborn as King, he retains his bodies pervious memories, to discover that the last piece of Blacksun's body is being used as the Ark, to give the knights of this world absurdly strong abilities. Hiding in plain sight as King he now waits for his chance to retake the last piece of BlackSun's body and to awake the rebirth of his fallen brothers.
