《Devil Cultivator in an Ability User World》(Rewritten/Edit) Chapter 1 - Where am I? And why is my mom using Magic?!

As Lu Shu woke up from some sort of unconsciousness, he looked about- well he tried to anyway, before realizing that he couldn't exactly control his body as well as he knew he could.
'Why is this happening? Did something go wrong with the tribula-'
And that's when he realized, he died, him the strongest in Artronia had died even before the last bolt of the tribulation he'd been enduring had struck him. Suddenly remembering this, his feelings went a bit out of control as immense rage and annoyance funneled through him and came out his mouth in a mighty roar.
"Aiiiboo!!"
...or at least he thought it would. As he tilted his head with what little body control he had, he saw something that quite literally shocked him into shitting himself.
He was a child, not in the sense that he was being too emotional about dying during a tribulation, but a literal child, his body looked like it had just crossed the 12-week old border, and this shocked even him, a Devil Cultivator, who had lived for hundreds of years.
'How is this possible? Didn't I die-Well, of course you died, you idiot, calm down and think Lu Shu!'
As he was busy calming himself down, he didn't sense the incoming doom approaching and by the time he did, it was already far too late...
"Hello, Sweetie! How's my big boy doing?"
Shocked, Lu Why looked at the woman picking him up and was once again shocked at what he saw. Long red hair flowed down from the bottom of her head all the way down to just below her chin, which contrasted well with her bright blue eyes which you could lose yourself in, the rest of her face could only be described as stunning, everything was in proportion and suited everything else on the face and it all came together to make a beautiful picture.

When Lu Shu looked her up and down, he estimated that she should be about 5'5" unless this world he had been born on has weirdly tall or small people living on it.
If this woman was his Mother like he was suspecting, he had won the Genetic Lottery and should be just as handsome as he was in his last life.
To not look suspicious he put on his best baby impression which consisted of-
"Aiii!"
To which his Mother's eyes suddenly had a scary light go past them for a split second before she started smiling extremely gently saying
"Aww look at how clever my boy is! Knowing when his Mommy is asking questions and he even answers them as well! You're so cute I could just eat you up!"
'Please don't, I've only just reincarnated, I don't wanna die just yet...'
Lu Shu helplessly said this in his mind when he heard her, but he still kept up the baby impression
"Aii! Aii! Brr!"
"Hmm? What do you want Damien?"
'Oh, it seems I have a new name, while I'm quite fond of my old name, seeing as I've reincarnated I ought to take on my new name as my only name from now on, even though I was a bastard in my last life, I didn't have parents, they abandoned me, so if these two get it right, I will at least show them the level of respect they deserve.'
While he was thinking his Mother took it as him not replying as, to be fair he didn't nor really could he, he was a child, and she started guessing as what he wanted
"Let's think, what could my angel Damien want...food? No, I just fed him..Hm? What's that smell-Ah this is what you wanted? To have Mommy change you? Okay come with me Damien, I'll change you!"

After 5 minutes of the most painfully awkward experience Damien had ever been through in both his lives, he had been cleaned and changed and no longer felt like he was carrying a brick in his pants.
'Oh wow, I suddenly feel really tired, what the hell?'
This troubling thought went around his head for a while before he came to a realization that made him feel like an idiot.
'Oh yeah, I'm a baby now, I guess I need to sleep a lot, guess I'll just go to sleep in my Mother's warm embrace..I'm kinda glad I died and reincarnated because these past few moments with my mother are better than any more lifespan I'd have after passing that tribulation. It's good not to be constantly at war with the rest of the world; it's so relaxing.'
But before Damien finally closed his eyes, they shot open as he saw his Mother point her finger at a chair in the way of where she was walking and the chair moved. Damien couldn't really shrug this off as he couldn't feel any Qi coming from her, so he was clueless to why she could move it
'Wait, what? WHAT!? How did she do that?! And I can't ask her to explain either!'
Thinking about this for a while, Damien let out an angry grunt which sounded more like a choked cough and plopped his head down on his mother's body, using it as an alternative to a wooden pole to bang his head against in annoyance.
'I take back what I said earlier, being a baby is surprisingly annoying, I guess my lack of communication skills will be a bother until I grow older, I guess I'll have to look around to see if I can find any books about this and see if either my mom's special or if everyone has powers/abilities like her.'
Seeing his head resting against her body and hearing the weird noises coming from his mouth, Damien's mother stroked his back while cutely speaking to him.
"Oh? Is my Damien sleepy? Well let me put you to bed, my little angel"
At her complete misunderstanding of any of Damien's surprise/annoyance, Damien couldn't help but become even more surprised/annoyed.
'Mother did you not see the utter surprise on my face? Couldn't you at least explain to your child how you did it?! Couldn't you at least brag about it?! Well, guess as soon as I can crawl, I'm looking for books. Yay.'
And with that annoying goal made, Damien fell asleep, thinking about the wonders of this new world and how it would probably be fun to start over and enjoy his life to the fullest this time instead of constantly being focused on training and cultivating, whether he could actually enjoy this life to the fullest remained unknown but Damien at least liked to think he, the person who was named the Devil King in his last life, would know how to live an entertaining life.

The Emperor's Chef
"Cook like your life depends on it, kid. Because it does." Charles had an enviable future lined up for him. Training from the age of five by some of the finest chefs in the world. Schooling at a top culinary academy in the capital. An honorable position as heir to House Boulier, a line of merchant-lords who have charmed the rich and powerful with their cooking for centuries. And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.

Party Leveling
{A new notification has arrived.} In front of a few people, these hologram-looking messages appeared and changed their lives in entirely different forms. Things such as growing stronger, becoming smarter, feeling more agile, became possible within short periods of time from that point onwards. The one who regretted his weak healing abilities for years began to chase after the magic powers that could turn reason and sense upside down while keeping his goal, this duty to the wrongs he committed. The other one, who complained about his lack of strength, strove towards the path of an unbeatable champion to protect those he held dear. When the person who had everything found a path to desire for more, not fearing the consequences and the obstacles, he also began to walk onwards to a new life. And among them, the one who walked aimlessly but also never stepped down on the choices he made along the way, was the one who couldn’t be ignored nor disrespected by anyone. The “Player” system that they all obtained, and which granted them several abilities, knowledge and directions, was also the beginning of an entire new era in this world where monsters, magic and technology, were already common and wide-spread. There’s not a single hero, but after committing mistakes after mistakes, learning from the painful and thorny path that they take, and growing as people with the people that surround them, then someday... there will certainly be saviors. [Quick reminder that this novel is also being published in Webnovel(dot)com and ScribbleHub(dot)com]
