"Sorry" I said as I let go of her wrist, immediately taking out my hand sanitiser.
"Tsk" she replied with an obviously angered expression, taking out her hand sanitiser to disinfect her wrist after I had touched it.
"I'll help you only this once" she added and I gave a sigh of relief. "If you beg me to help you" she said, a really obvious smirk on her face as she looked at me.
"No" I said as I was becoming more annoyed by her attitude.
"Good luck with the test then" she said as she waved at me and then left the library, leaving no trace of her.
"I'm sorry" her friend told me. "She doesn't really socialise with people in school so she tends to hate studying with others that she hasn't studied with before.
"I'll be going then" I said and excused myself before her friend called out to me.
"Keep trying though, she might say yes if you keep nagging her" she said with a smile on her face and I nodded before leaving the library.
The next day however, it was hell.
I told Komori to ask (Y/N) to allow me to study with her and she just shook her head at everything that Komori said, since it was all related about me.
"Why don't you let him study with you?" Komori asked as I stood in a corner where (Y/N) couldn't see me.
"He may be an Ace but to me, he's a rival" she said with a serious tone to which you could tell, she was being serious about this.
"I am currently ranked fourth best setter, I'll make sure to become the number 1 setter before he gets to be best ace. And it's not just in volleyball, I'll make sure that I stay as the top student with the highest grades" she explained.
"What about Seiko though?" Komori had a point, Seiko was one of the best liberos in the country, so why isn't she treating her like she treats me?
"Seiko is a special case" she said, before turning around and started walking away, her footsteps echoing the empty hallway to which all three of us were in.
But she suddenly stopped.
"You can come out now, Sakusa" she told me which made me widen my eyes. But by the time I got out of the corner, her back was already gone.
"Tch" I said, clearly mad at everything she said, from start to finish. "Now I hate her even more, her and her stupid disease" I mumbled before walking away, trying to find a new tutor.
Days had gone by, the exam was now long gone. I was making my way home, until I heard noises coming from inside the gymnasium.
I took a look to see what all of the commotion was, only to find out that the girls' team were having a practice match against Inarizaki.

I looked around the gymnasium and found a familiar blond highlighted guy, looking directly back at me and motioning me to sit next to him.
I could feel my face starting to give out a disgusted look do I stood at the very end of the stands, in the corner. Which made the blond come to me instead.
"What do you want?" I said with a really angry tone.
"I wanted to chat with you for a bit, I haven't talked to you since the training camp either way" he told me, a small smile on his face.
He opened his mouth to say something but we were soon interrupted by a loud cheer, making the two of us look at the court to see (Y/N) being swapped in.
"This is where the real match begins huh?" I heard Atsumu say and nodded at his statement.
"Inarizaki has been on the lead by four points, the coach must see this as a threat and decided to put (Y/N) so she can cut down the lead" He added.
I looked at the match and saw (Y/N) entering a really deep zone, a zone that made a lot of sports players concentrate to their fullest.
"She's not going easy on them" I mumbled, Ataumu looked at me at my sudden words.
"Why would she? The second best setter is in that team, so of course she wouldn't want to be able to go easy on them" I looked at Atsumu and then back at the match.
"Why do people care about ranks?" I asked, Atsumu taken aback at my question.
"You may not care, but there is always something lingering in (Y/N)'s mind, causing her to limit herself from being at her fullest potential. But of course, she doesn't know that which is such a waste" he explained to me.
"However, if you really wish to know, then it'd be better to ask (Y/N) herself or you go to Karasuno in the Miyagi prefecture and ask Tobio Kageyama. After all, the two of them are twins" Atsumu said and then a really loud cheer came from the court once again.
"(Y/N) just did an amazing set from the back line, then her teammate, Chihiro did an amazing cross spike to finish the set" the commentator from the journalism club said, full of enthusiasm. "It seems that (Y/N) won't be backing down any time soon as we are now heading to the last set".
"I must admit, she's really good. But what does her being Tobio Kageyama's twin have to do with this?" I asked.
"Oh you didn't know? She'd be a first year right now if she didn't move up" Atsumu told me. "She gets the grades, she's also really analytical so you can say that her intelligence allows her to do any type of set. That's why she's called the 'Golden Crow'"
"Such a shame she didn't come to Inarizaki though, I bet Kita would've liked to have someone like her in the female team or even better, as our manager. However, her attitude towards people could made Kita be mad if she were to be our manager" he said.

After watching a few points, Atsumu decided to head back to his school. Alongside his twin brother who stayed in the stands with a brown haired boy and a boy with a mixture of white and black hair. Apparently the result was painfully clear and obvious, making him be uninterested to see the match to its end.
The match ended with Inarizaki taking the win, (Y/N) was looking up at the ceiling, a smirk on her face as she started regaining her lost breath. Which reminded me of what Atsumu told me before he left.
"Tell her that I'll be more than willing to teach her a few things, but this offer will only last until the end of the tournament" he said.
Both teams bowed at each other, the audience in the stands giving a round of a applause. Each of the members started heading out, a lot of them looking at me while giggling and I gave them a death glare which made them all freeze to death and run away.
As soon as (Y/N) got out, I called out to her and she turned around to me.
"How was the English exam?" she asked me with a smug on her face and I ignored it.
"To make this simple and short so that I don't have to waste too much effort or even worse, catch your germs. Miya Atsumu from Inarizaki has told me to give this to you, telling me that he offers to be your mentor or something like that" I said and handed out the paper that Atsumu gave me with his phone number on it.
"Thanks?" she said while taking the paper and placing it in her pocket.
"Goodbye" I said and then walked off.
"Tch, weirdo" I said while opening the paper. "An offer to have one of the best male setters teach me a few things, how wonderful. I'll ask my dad about it when I get home" I said and put on my headphones as I walked to my house.
"DAD!!! I'M HOME!!!" I said as soon as I closed the door behind me.
"WELCOME BACK SWEETIE, I MADE YOUR FAVOURITE FOR DINNER" he said as he put the plates on the table.
"Thanks for the food" we both said in unison and started eating the food.
"Oh yeah, I had something to tell you dad" I said and he looked at me, paying attention to what I was about to say.
"You know Miya Atsumu, one of the best male setters in Japan?" I asked him and he widened his eyes.
"COULD IT BE THAT YOU'RE DATING HIM???" he asked me, technically yelling to be honest.
"Ew no, you know that I only have a place for you and volleyball in my heart" I told him and he gave me a big smile.
"What about Tobio and your older sister though? They're still your siblings after all" he said, he had a point but I haven't seen my older sister in years and I never saw Kageyama until the intensive training camp.
"I guess? ANYWAYS. Miya Atsumu has offered to teach me a few things, and I was considering about accepting the offer but I wanted to confirm with you first" I said and he put his hand on his chin.
"Well I'm not pretty sure... I honestly feel like you shouldn't" he told me and I could feel all of my dreams crushed.
"Just kidding!!" he said out of nowhere.
"Don't joke around like that!" I told him in response and he started laughing.
"I wouldn't allow myself to keep you from doing something you love a lot. Wherever life takes you, I'll be there for you" he told me and it made me tear up.
"Thanks dad" I said and he gave me a big smile, the two of us finishing our food.
"When are you starting?" he asked me.
"First I have to say yes to the offer, but most likely tomorrow or the day after" I told him and he nodded.
I took out my phone and decided to dial Atsumu as my father started doing the dishes, insisting that he'll do it for me.
The phone had started ringing, I went out to my balcony and felt the wind brushing against my face.
"Hello?" I heard a male say from the other side of the phone.
"Is this Miya Atsumu?" I asked.
"Tsumu!" I heard the other person say.
"Yes?!" a second person replied.
"Someone is calling you!" he said.
"Who?!" Atsumu replied.
"Excuse me, but what's your name?" the other person who was not Atsumu asked me.
"Kageyama, Kageyama (Y/N)" I told him.
"Itachiyama's 'Golden Crow', Kageyama (Y/N)!" I heard him say and then really loud footsteps could be heard
"Yes?" Atsumu, who was now on the phone asked me.
"I accept the offer" I said with determination.
"Great, come meet me after school tomorrow. I'll send you the location in a bit" he told me and I nodded.
"Thanks, goodbye" I said.
"Goodb-" I hanged up before he could say anything else.
I went to the location that Atsumu sent me yesterday, it was pretty much a court near a park.
I saw him standing there, a big smirk on his face as he saw me walking closer and closer to him.
"Are you ready for the practice miss? Because I won't be going easy on you" he said and I nodded.

Follow a 16-year-old boy named Aaron Duncan, he is a muted teenager by choice who had lost his sister at a young age. He was five when his sister, Althea, went missing with no explanation. Aaron couldn't do anything, he couldn't prescribe a search until he was sixteen. So, he made it a struggle for the world and went mute, he refused to speak a single word until he finds his sister. And he finally got a chance, his school invited him to a multi-school camp trip to The Kielder Forest, a very recognisable memory for Aaron as it was that forest he and his sister made memories in. No chances were wasted, he agreed and went on the camp trip with his chubby best friend, George. When he arrived at the forest, he felt off. Aaron knew something was entirely eerie about the forest that never felt this way ever before, but he was the only one who felt this way so he shrugged it off and went into the forest with multiple different schools from all around the UK. Meeting Lia Ann kept Aaron thinking about his sister as they had similar personalities. One night, adrenaline was high for Aaron and he decided to go to the cave he made memories with deep in the forest. Everything was intact and his friendship with Lia grew when they both encountered each other. So, normally, Aaron thought nothing of it and continued going back to the cave until one day he was ambushed by a liquid entity that wasn't human. It almost murdered him before he was saved by an unexpected guest, his sister, in pure flesh, was finally in front of him. Aaron wanted to know everything, he asked everything until one question did it for Aaron as he found himself passed out from the help of Althea's distant eyes and woke up in his tent by George. "Was it a dream?" He asks himself dreadfully. A question that will have him explore his character, his purpose, his beliefs, his trust, and his friendships. Will a dream break Aaron down and destroy him? Or will it build him up to be even stronger to find out how his sister went missing? And possibly, what or who may have murdered her?

Patchwork System
Notification (cannot be ignored): For being the first being to kill another of its own species after Sublimation, Lyam Aldren is awarded the Title of Cain’s Successor. Let all fear the Kinslayer!!! Lyam Aldren, killer for hire, was just going about his business when he suddenly received a notification from something called the System. Apparently, the entirety of Earth, its denizens and its matter were transported into the world of the System, planted in 'patches' all throughout the infinite world. The world of the Patchwork System is one of challenges, where life is cheap, power is king, and Classes and levels are a thing. In a brutal world, there is perhaps room for a killer with bloodstained hands to find his own way, free of his past. However, his Title and his inherent nature plague him, his fragmented personality laid bare to those with the eyes to see, and if he doesn't become powerful enough to defeat or escape those who would use or destroy him, he will quickly be devoured by the merciless world created by the System. Compared to my previous work, this is a more 'classic' litrpg setup, with clear (if somewhat complex) progression through levels and skill gains, with a 'system apocalypse' setup. Unlike most system apocalypse story protagonists, Lyam is neither a leader nor is he particularly interested in saving his fellow Earthlings. This is a story of a man who is both endangered and set free by the destruction of his old world, as he finds both power, new discoveries, and adventure in a place where his past matters not at all and power is the only language most speak. Later in the story, there will be harem elements, but the first volume is dedicated to Lyam's first months in the System. For those who are more interested in the Heirs of the Hooded King, I am putting it on hiatus as I rework the setting and future story developments a bit.
