09/16: disrupting time and space

so the words spilled from my lips

and remained suspended in the space between us,

disrupting the room's previously feather-weight air.

"i am in love with you."

and you remained unmoving.

it was not a pause of shock,

but rather it was to pave the way

for the ever so silent deafening sound

of the pulverization of half a decade of friendship.

"thank you."

and so it was my turn

to leave space and time

to pave the way

for the sound of breaking between my lungs

who carried air no longer upon hearing

your two-word response to

5 years worth of suppressed craving.

you heard it through my eyes, i could tell.

you didn't care, i could tell.

and so that space and time remained eternally undisrupted.
